[Q] My Transformer won't turn on (Solved?) - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
Was playing with my Transformer last night (browser, some games) and now today my Transformer won't turn on.
I fully charged it yesterday and it had 91% when it was done with it last night. I DID NOT turn it off.
Now it seems to be off, and won't turn on.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Okay, so out of nowhere it decided to turn on. When it did, it made a weird sound from the speaker. Battery is the whole way down to 42%!!!! Should I be worried?

Try holding the power button for 10-15 seconds, then try to turn it on.

[Q] Won't wake up after a few hours

My transformer wakes up fine after a minute or two, but if I leave it for 5-10 minutes and hit the power button, nothing happens
I can long press, then press again (rebooting), but I can't get the darn thing to "wake" back up after some downtime
any ideas? Am I missing something obvious?
Mine just went to sleep and i can't even get it to re-boot.
Had it less the 24 hours and now seems dead when on 90% battery
Any idea's?
kk it is re-booting when held down for about 15 secs, when i plug in to the PC with usb and how the power down you get the disconnect noise to say it is powered down.
Odd its getting stuck in sleep as it was on sleep having charge all last night and woke up fine this morning.
Just want to make sure you are rebooting correctly ... hold the power button down for 5 seconds then let go and wait for a couple seconds, then hold it down for a couple seconds to turn it back on

yer just the 5 secs feels like forever when it wouldn't turn on. :S
I hate it when your new toy's act dead.
Not sure it's related, as I don't have my Transformer yet (thursday or friday it should be here!), but I had a similar issue on an Archos 101. Turning off the screen timeout resolved it.
Seems like when you put it into 'sleep' by tapping the power button, if you let it sit longer than the screen timeout was set, it would, well, turn off the screen... and you couldn't turn it back on.
Had to do the whole 'hold the power button for X seconds' to force it off, then turn it back on.
Just wondering, might be something to try - turn off the screen timeout and see if it wakes up OK.
Trust me bud, I know. And what's worse, you can't return this one and get a new one due to supply issues (you would have to wait a long time for your replacement)
I also have some light bleed issues, those I can live with... this I cannot

[Q][SOLVED] Sound problems. (No sound at all)

I recently used my TF as normal, sound was all good. I pressed power button once to turn off the screen and put it away.
Now, a few hours later screen didn't come on. Had to long press power button 6 or 7 times to get it on. Booted from off state. Now I got no sound at all.. battery at 22% so it didn't die from a power loss. Everything else is working..
I can adjust volime up/down, but there is no sound.. Argh.
"Headphones connected" is showing, but no sound in headphones either.. anyone seen this? I can hear the headphone being connected as you get that jarring sound for half a sec.
Battery monitor says screen and wifi and everything has been on for those hours it was supposed to be in deep sleep, and it has been burning battery like there was no tomorrow. Battery meter line free falling, almost straight down. More battery usage than playing games or videos or whatever running.
Halp.

-----------
After a good nights sleep and 6 or 7 reboots, the sound is back. No idea what caused the problem.

[Q] boot time

Sometimes my skyrocket takes a really long time to turn after it has charged (turned off) overnight. I have to hold the power button down for a good 15 seconds before I feel it vibrate and the samsung logo pops up.
Is this normal or indicative of some issue? I am paranoid about waking up to a dead phone.

TF700 Won't Turn Back On

I've had mine about 6-8 weeks. Is unlocked and has TWRP and Zeus 3.0. Used it this morning with no issues and it was about 90% charged. Took it on the road with me and I wanted to make sure it was fully charged so I plugged it into a power inverter car charger with a USB slot. After about 1 hour, I unplugged it and turned it back on. It powered up and the first Asus screen popped up. At that point it appeared to go black and I waited a few minutes. Nothing happened. I then tried turning it back and it will not turn back on or power up into TWRP. After holding the power button, the tablet has a small vibrate after 10 seconds. Upon plugging it back into the car charger, I noticed that the light is not working. This happens on and off the dock. I won't be able to plug it into a real power outlet until I get back home, so I'm posting to get a jump start on what to do if it still doesn't work at home.
Any advice?

Well I got home, plugged it in and the charge light came on. It still wouldn't turn on though. At that point, I figured I'd try a paper clip in the factory reset pin hole even though I read that it doesn't or shouldn't work when you're not stock. Well doing that powered the tablet back up and everything is the way I left it this morning.
Very interesting. Hope this may help others....or maybe I'm just lucky.

So the reset button works also with custom rom. Shouldn't be a normal thing? I didn't know that with custom rom it doesn't work.

Sounds somewhat similar to my tablet, had it connect to HDMI with dock it was just finished running video the low battery status prompt popped up, folded the tablet and connected with charger without disconnecting HDMI.
A few hours later unfolded the tablet and found a blank screen, first thought it had shutdown by itself, then by pressing power button it gave a short vibration feedback. With the display still blank kept on pressing power button each time it responded with feedback by vibrating and thought it is bricked.
Was wondering wildly what has happened to it, so kept on pressing and holding power button it finally reboots and vibrated long to indicate it is booting.
So it was strange why such error has occurred, and it happens it could have registered as turned ON but display ON and in reality display is really OFF.

Is my transformer dying?

i bought a transformer tf101 last black friday and rooted it and had been using for quite a while. i stopped using it about 3-4 months ago because i thought the charger was messed up because it wouldnt charge or turn on. last week i decided to give it a try and it turned on. when i turned it on the battery was dead and it was hooked up to the charger and it woudnt charge. and when i unplugged the charger it would immediately turn off. so i reset battery settings in recovery and flashed the latest cyanogen nightly and now im beginning to have another problem. the tablet randomly turns off when in sleep mode. what could be the culprit?

TF101G here. I flashed a CM-based ROM for a few days (the experimental JB 3G one) and had a similar problem - in sleep mode the tablet would sometimes power down and require a full boot to restart. Seemed to do it more when the battery was low, I wondered if it was a power-saving 'feature'. But couldn't get 3G to work either so I flashed back to Android Revolution HD and so far haven't had any problems, ARHD seems quite fast and stable on mine. So before trashing the transformer I'd maybe try some different ROMS. Good luck.
