No you cannot

Funny, the thread title is "[Q] HTC Thunderbolt on AT&T?"
And people wonder why the first thing said is, search for it...

Allow me to spoonfeed
ATT=GSM/HSPA+ (correct me if theyre the same thing)
Verizon=CDMA/LTE

Allow me to shed some knowledge on the real retards in this forum. When the BB STORM 9530 its Verizon but used a simcard therefore I was able to unlock it and use on ATT and tmobile.
Just like everything you read theyre two sides I figured I try Google didn't really clarify. So i figured I come over to the actual forum where people actually try to crack these things to get the maximum use out of them. But instead I get smart replies to a simple yes or no question. It's retarded to think such "smart" people cannot respond with a simple yes or no.

Why didn't you respond to me? I typed in "Thunderbolt works on AT&T" in google and that was RIGHT THERE. The thread, which was posted March 22nd - almost 2 months ago, asking the same thing with the answer right there. So when you say you searched, you mean you didn't do anything.
And if you had read after you searched, you would have found out that the SIM slot is only used for 4G.
It's retarded to think such a "smart" person would do such a thing.

The bolt uses an lte sim card. AT&T uses a GSM sim card. Won't work.

'taint no such thing as a "lte sim" or a "GSM sim." Verizon uses a UICC which has both CSIM and USIM applications on it. Modern AT&T phones would have UICCs with USIM. Not being able to use a TB on AT&T has nothing to do with the "SIM" (correctly, UICC) card.
The TB simply doesn't support GSM-type technology. There's probably a frequency issue, but that's moot.

Unlocked Bootloader OTA in August

Well, it looks like HTC is gonna make me eat my words.
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150305151453084
**We’re thrilled to announce today that software updates to support bootloader unlocking will begin rolling out in August for the global HTC Sensation, followed by the HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile USA and the HTC EVO 3D on Sprint. We’re in the testing phase for the unlocking capability now, and we expect it to be fully operational by early September for devices that have received the software updates. We'll continue rolling out the unlocking capability over time to other devices as part of maintenance releases and new shipments.**

How is that flaming him? I didn't name call or put him down in anyway, just it seems in this forum(sensation) people create more duplicate threads then the other device sections I frequent. Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
You know I have noticed more and more rude and sarcastic and flaming remarks as of late. I wonder if short tempers and faultfinding could be attributed to the following:
1. Locked Boatloader ( No definite time frame for resolution)
only vague promises and comments
2. No permanent root(temp root only)
A. No S=off for the majority so no custom roms etc.
3. Htc making vague statements and time frames(even the last blurb gave no real time frame for the US Sensation) and no realistic end in sight.(Hypothetically at least 2 months or more away, at least) Which leads to Feelings of hopelessness..
4. A great phone but many many issues(lots of returns and replacements)
5. Indecision as to whether to keep the phone or not.
Just some thoughts I know I have felt this way and if some of the above were addressed and accomplished I would have a better feeling about keeping the device and a better outlook about the situation in general.
Lets not take the circumstances surrounding the phone out on each other.

[Help] New HTC Inspire User Needs Help Please

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I am in need of some help with rooting.
All I need is someone to point me in the right direction on finding a the best program that will root my phone. There's so many programs out there and I'm not sure which one works or not and what to really do. I would really appreciate it if someone could help. Thanks.
I am running on the 2.3.3 Android software
Use Attn1's hack kit. Very easy. Just read the directions and the "effen" manual.

+1. That's really the only rooting method now. I'm curious, Where did you find "so many programs out there"?

Well like there's Hack Kit and like Bubby's but I think I keep getting confused with rooting and other ROMs and stuff.
Bubby's is old and there has been no new support or development for a long time. Attn1's hack kit is the only kit that will work with the newer versions of android. Currently it is not only the easiest to use but also the only one which will work.
cant we just help someone without calling them out. this is supposed to be a friendly helpful environment.

Even if it is is, MOST of the things people are paranoid about with CarrierIQ, the carrier can ALREADY do! IE: See what sites you visit, your texts, your phone calls. They have had this ability for a long time, carrier side.
But doesn't having this on the phone also eat away at precious battery life ? By the way, is this on both the OSG2 and sky rocket?

[PSA] FOR THE LOVE OF GOD Please Stop Flashing International One X ROMS On This Phone

It will NOT work. No amount of hoping and tweaking will make it work.
Yes, I know HTC is confusing you. These phones look the same and have the same name. But the CPU and GPU are different, as is the firmware. There are different sections on XDA for a reason.
Yes, I know there is more development in the International One X forum. It's hard to watch all the progress and not do anything. But there's more development in the Gnex forum. Hell, there's more in the SGS3, and you wouldn't flash a ROM for that phone even though it actually uses the same processor, would you?
If you try, the best you can hope for is a bootloop. At worst, you may hard-brick your phone, because the One X and One XL use different boot partions.
Look, people here want to help, and we understand that weird things happen that may cause your phone to go haywire. But when we see this happening over and over and over and over again, it becomes increasingly difficult to muster up any sympathy, especially when the people doing this really ought to know better.
Okay? Pretty please? The next person who does this is probably just going to get laughed at. Don't be that guy.
UPDATE: On stock 2.20, the boot partiton is write-protected, so flashing an international ROM won't give you a paperweight, but it will fail mid-flash.

With how many people seem to be doing this, I can't say I'm surprised AT&T mandated a locked bootloader.
It would be nice to think that if one can figure out how to root and unlock the bootloader that one could at least understand the difference between the One X models.

I keep wondering if I clicked an apple forum by mistake. All I seem to see here is iphone this or that. People should just go buy the damn thing and leave us to talk about the S3.
I thought about making a new thread for this, but then decided to post it here. I just read on Arstechnica that the iphone 5 cant do simultaneous voice and data right now on Verizon due to the new dynamic antenna. All those iphone lovers will have to wait until Verizon turns on voice over lte. Right now any recent Verizon android lte phone can do voice and data at the same time.

Oh, that's a big minus, I feel. I've been taking advantage of checking things via the Internet while on the phone often enough, now. Most of my calls from a store are on what to buy, where to eat, prices, ratings, etc. - conversations dynamically flow to looking things up and I no longer have to hope the other person has access to the web or a related app at the time.
