How about simply moving the apk file to the system/app folder?

If you still have the zip you can pull it out and place it in system app and change permissions by long pressing the file to rw r r. I use root explorer to do this.

You don't install it just push it to system/app and change permissions to rw r r
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
Ok I extracted and pushef to system/apps. Made sure permissions were rw-r-r. Market shows up but isn't opening. Now something called Superlauncher is popping up?
Nevermind superlauncher is part of supermanager.

Some file browsers cannot see the files. You can use programs that backup apks or use Root Explorer if you are rooted.
Installed apps go there. Downloaded but failed install or recently installed goes to /cache/download

Do you mean for Gingerbread? Try the attached one (move to /system/app with a root file manager and reboot).
Yea... For gingerbread...

Where is system/app folder? I do have media hub installed but the videos are locked because infused ROM is a Canadian version.

I did find system/app but the move failed

Make sure it's set to R/W not R/O in root exp, or what ever file manager.
You have to set correct permissions after move or it wont work...rwrr

Are you guys digging the Apollo music app? I think i may have liked the old music player from cm7 better. I haven't played with it much but i seen a few requests for it. Is there any advantages with having Apollo over the older style music app?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Only difference is a different layout and more themes. It's just a music player, do it doesn't have any equalizers. Only downside is that there aren't that many settings
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
well if you dont like cm9 you can download more music players from the play store:good:
I personally hate apollo lol. I've been using jetaudio and I really like it

I tried out jet audio last month but was totally disgusted, by the UI.
cm7 music app would work on this cm9 build right.

So i extracted music.apk from cm7 and tried to put in on my cm9 bulls but i am getting an unexpected error. What other counter posts would i need for it to work? Anyone know?

Extract it, put it in system/app, and i think fix permissions. If it doesn't work, then try just installing it. That worked for when i put Apollo on aokp.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
That didn't work. I think there might be some associated files kind of like Swype.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
I'm pretty sure the CM7 player has dependencies that aren't in ICS based roms

This will install on any ics/cm9 based rom and it's what you're looking for (it's the stock Android 4 player, totally identical to stock gb player in cm7) - http://db.tt/a5HCUqu6

+ you can backup them using astro file manager
sent via ULTIMATE GB beta
You can also try out App_Backup_Restore...Search for it in the play store.
Itz pretty nice app to backup apk files to ur sdcard.
Sent from my Optimus One running PA 2.52 by ByteCode.
You can just copy the file from /data/app
while downloading playstore stores the file in
1)cache/download in gb
2)data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache in ics
