Do you mean for Gingerbread? Try the attached one (move to /system/app with a root file manager and reboot).

Yea... For gingerbread...

Where is system/app folder? I do have media hub installed but the videos are locked because infused ROM is a Canadian version.

I did find system/app but the move failed

Make sure it's set to R/W not R/O in root exp, or what ever file manager.

You have to set correct permissions after move or it wont work...rwrr

Some file browsers cannot see the files. You can use programs that backup apks or use Root Explorer if you are rooted.
Installed apps go there. Downloaded but failed install or recently installed goes to /cache/download

Or are they the same thing? If so then I did that and it didn't work, I just want the Droid voice from the commercials to play when I turn on my phone
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Open root explorer...and go to etc....its on the first page when you open root explorer
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
And yes...it will work....delete PowerOn.wav....replace with your wav file(and it has to be a wav file) and rename it PowerOn.wav....spelled exactly like that....

I've done that and no luck :-( i've been sitting here for the last few hours trying to figure out why

If i'm putting it in they righty directory then why wouldn't it be working, could it be a specific coding in the format of the audio file?

Root your device and copy file from /data/app or /system/app to anywhere.
What's with the thread title? Why not Backup.apk. seems Luke your asking how to hack apks is all.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Better change the title it makes you sound like your trying to hack apps to get them for free or something
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2
Mix the title with what he wants to it and it looks like he want to pay for an app and then copy the app to give to friends.
There are hundreds of TUT on how to back up apks.
