You need to format your SD card in another Android device/phone.

After unpartitioning your data on it shall be lost.
To unpartition you simply insert your SD card on WInMo device (Like I do on my HD2) and format it. You shall have full space back.
use mini toolpartition wizard homew edition to unpartition it using the pc
PartionManager will help
Thank you for the help!

Boot up wothout sd card and once its booted insert your sdcard and go to market and get busybox and install it on xbin and you should be able to turn on with sdcard inserted

ok..then what you will have to do is take out everything that it on the sdcard...format the sdcard..transfer everything back and it should work.. you might have to install busybox again ... that happened to me once and all i ad to do was install busybox..but formatting might work
Alright I'll give it a try here later then thanks I'll let you know how it works out

Is any one else having this problem?
Can it read other SD cards? My wife has received three 64GB microSD cards in a row,all from different stores, that were bad and wouldn't mount in hers or my phone. But we can mount any other SD card fine. They do have a high failure rate. You can see it all over the forums here.

I've had this problem with a 64 class. 10 sandisk. Card. Recognizes fine in my wife's s3 but mine it doesn't. Her is stock and I'm rooted and rom'ed. Going to try and Odin stock with it installed and see if that fixes it. Then just reinstall cwm and rom

Most custom roms won't recognize a card formatted with exFat. You will need to format the card with fat32 to use it...

Formatted with dos cmd prompt app I found online and now my phone reads the card

We need to compile a list of ROMs that support exFAT. In this day and age of huge capacity sdcards and the ability to rip movies, the lack of exFAT support is becoming a major liability.

Yep, I read a lot of stuff before making my first post and this was one of the things I wanted as well.

I've yet to root mine since there are conflicting reports on various different versions/roms with problems reading sd cards.
darkmans's 4.1.2 stock-deodexed for 8000 looks good but smaw's 8010 fix is only available for 4.1.1 :crying:
Hi,
I have a rooted Tab 7.7 still running honeycomb 3.2. I have applied the permisions fix to solve the writing to SD card issue and this works a treat for using the sd card for file management but it still wotn let me install apps on the external card. is there something I am missing or is it not possible to enable this feature?
Many thanks for any help
Nick
I think we were able to do that with Gingerbread and nothing else since then.

Erm, but i have a sensation xe (as below) with ICS and i have a 32gb card with many apps intalled on it.
Surely there is a way we can make the os think the sd card can be written to with apps?

your solution, judging by the name, sounds long. It suggests some sort of mapping
