Phone Not Reading SD Card - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Is any one else having this problem?

Can it read other SD cards? My wife has received three 64GB microSD cards in a row,all from different stores, that were bad and wouldn't mount in hers or my phone. But we can mount any other SD card fine. They do have a high failure rate. You can see it all over the forums here.

The 1st one I tried wouldn't work, so I bought a Samsung card & have had no issues.Shouldn't make a difference, but who knows?

I've had this problem with a 64 class. 10 sandisk. Card. Recognizes fine in my wife's s3 but mine it doesn't. Her is stock and I'm rooted and rom'ed. Going to try and Odin stock with it installed and see if that fixes it. Then just reinstall cwm and rom

Most custom roms won't recognize a card formatted with exFat. You will need to format the card with fat32 to use it...

Formatted with dos cmd prompt app I found online and now my phone reads the card

We need to compile a list of ROMs that support exFAT. In this day and age of huge capacity sdcards and the ability to rip movies, the lack of exFAT support is becoming a major liability.

quick question: Can the xoom take a 64gb sd card?

Hi,
just a quick question, does the xoom support a 64 gb sd card?
thanks
I tried, Xoom to my knowledge supports only upto 32 GB external SD

Yes, you can use a 64gb sd card in it as long as it is a sdxc. The one thing i will note however is that the xoom won't format it directly (recovery might, but i never could get ics to format the bloody thing.) You will probably have to use another phone, or a pc(which has additional complications) to format it.

SD Card not reading

So I place my 32GB SD card into my new 32GB galaxy s3 and it is not reading the SD card at all. Anyone else have or had this issue that may be able to shed some light? The pic is what the phone says with the card installed

I know that I had to format my 64GB card with fat32. You could give that a try.

SD Card Fail

Got the phone in Oct and now it doesn't read the sd card. I tried the card in another phone and it still does not work. Is there a way I can recover the pics?

Well SD card is working now have no idea how or why I guess the phone wouldn't mount the card. It still won't show up on my laptop I want to back it up.
Thanks anyway

I got the same SD card, right after black Friday, that card failed on me about two weeks ago, luckily had a backup of everything as I tried everything to get it mounted to retrieve my files, in the reviews I saw quite a few that had theirs die within a few weeks to a couple months after they bought it. I just returned it to amazon to get credit to buy a samsung one.

Clockworkmod touch

Have you tried formatting your SD card. Also I'm not sure if this is a problem or not but I do remember hearing people say something about the 64gb cards not being seen, not sure if that's what you got?

Kernel that supports 64gb sd card

Are there any that read them other than stock?
I'm talking Jelly Bean. I'm on Clean Rom 6 and looking for options to over clock.
Ziggys supports 64 formatted as fat32 I think. Comes bundled with synergy. Haven't tried it yet though, only have a 32 gb card.
