Ok I've searched the web and forums and couldn't find anything. So here's the story, woke up this morning, turned in my phone which came up with couldn't find sun card. So I tried the usual, re-setted, shut down removed battery & sin card etc, didn't help. So then decided to check if it was the phone or sun card by swapping sim cards with my girlfriends desire, and her sim card worked. But then we swapped back, and her sim card stopped working in her phone too. Has anyone else had the same thing happen or know what it is and how to fix it? I've ordered a new sun card but will the same thing happen? Am I going to have to factory reset my phone or is there another way around it? And how can I prevent this from happening again.
Thanks in advance!

Alright, lately after I unlock my phone it tells me that my sim card is not found. It bugs me a lot because I have to shut the phone down and take the card out and back in. No, I didnt drop it and it isnt rooted. Is it my sim card or the phone? And if it keeps doing this, should I send it into ATT?
if you have some compressed air i'd blow it in the sim card slot, but thats probably not the problem i would take it to AT&T and try to get a new sim card or have them look at your phone
Is the sd/sim cover flush?

Is it the SD card that came with the phone, or one you bought separately?

I had to go get a new SIM card today because the original was not connecting. It initially didn't enable a network signal, so the gal rebooted my phone....and of course saw my custom boot animation and status icons and what not...I don't think she had seen a rooted phone before...said something about "you've really bling'd this thing out haven't you? This is the most customized phone I have ever seen"... [sheepish grin]
Pull out the batery and turn on with the sim card inside.

Try the battery pull mentioned above. If it keeps happening then try getting a new sim from att. If the issue persist then call att they will more then likely replace the phone.

Oops. I thought he said SD card. No wonder no one answered that question of mine. Lol
Stopped working a couple days ago. Removed, reinserted and rebooted dozens of times. Went to tmobile and got a new sim and still no luck. I did just think to put it in another phone and then it works fine. Anyway I don't know what else to try? Suggestions?
check to make sure it's inserted the right way. happened to me once...

Hello guys,
I have my At&t version HTC One X for couple days. I notice there's the problem with network connection which happen 3 times already. I cannot connect to the internet even though I still see 2 or 3 bars of signal and 4g logo. My browser or any other apps won't connect to the internet. The problem's solved if I reboot this phone.
Also, I have seen couple times the notification "preparing sim card" even though I didn't turn off the phone, nor remove the sim card from the phone.
Do you guys think it's software problem or hardware problem?
Anybody has the same problem with me?
Should I get a replacement from the store?
Thanks..
First off, there are 2 threads like this in general...one from me.
Second, I called AT&T and HTC on the matter of "preparing sim card" along with a ! in a triangle and "changing restricted access" on the notification bar...they had no idea what was going on. They both told me to return it, it might be the sim reader going bad.
Just take it back to where you bought it and get another one. I did. So far so good. Good luck!
Hi, I have a skyrocket and for a while now I get "no sim card" error, even though there is a sim card.
Sometimes it will go a week without doing it, other times 4 times a day or more.
I am trying to figure out if it is hardware or software, the sim card works fine in my old phone.
So far I have did a factory reset, I have tried to go back to the original rogers software but it was giving me some sort of error, but installed slim bean, worked great for a couple of days... then the error popped up.
So now i am thinking it could be the sim card try, and maybe replace that, the parts will take a while to get (the cheap ones from hong kong) i did order it as it was $10... but it will take 5 weeks.
I am wondering if anyone has had this happen to them ?
sorry i meant to put this in Q+ A forum.
I'm pretty sure this happens to everyone at some point, not quite that much but it happens. Happened to me earlier today.

I installed custom 4.3 ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2591895&highlight=no+data and all was working really great for a week. Then today for some reason I got no network - can't call, no mobile data.
On local wifi everything works well. Reboots, power downs did not help.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any tips are greatly appreciated!

In data usage settings, see if your option is set to LTE/CDMA.

I feel like a total idiot - I opened the back and noticed that my sim card got ejected. For some reason I ignored the 'Insert SIM card' message because I took out the MicroSD card the day before and somehow my brain thought the phone was complaining about SDCard. SIM must have been ejected accidentally when I took out battery...
Thank you for guiding me to the correct path!

When I saw your original post I thought I'd finally been able to figure out why my GS3 says "no network" at times. It took me a whole hour to get it to connect to my network this morning! I gave the phone a reboot and took out the sim card a few times. Before upgrading my software I never experienced this problem. Please let me know if this problem persists on your end.
