G Tablet Official Dock - G Tablet General

I contacted Viewsonic, asking about an official G Tablet Dock, and they transferred me to what they called the dedicated number for the G Tablet (actually apparently a U S Merchants number). The person I spoke with said that the official G Tablet Dock is already available and emailed me an order form.
Any thoughts on this? This is through U S Merchants, (who must be the official distributor of the G Tab since their sticker is on the back of the tablet) but there is no real technical information about the accessories on the order form; whether it is just the Malata dock, or if it is actually made with Viewsonic's blessing specifically for the G Pad.
The G Tablet U S Merchants number is on the order form, so I may try calling again and ask for more details about the dock. Order form attached, hope this is helpful.
Edit: Sorry, just found the accessories area. Will post this there, but can't delete.

Sounds like it must at east be "blessed" by viewsonic since you called them and they sent you to that vendor.

That's the same case we could get from Sears for 4 dollars lol

where to buy official accessories?

so the nexus store is shut down. there doesn't seem to be a way to buy the official desktop dock anymore. is it for sale anywhere else for the same price?
I was wondering the same thing I wanted to get the car dock too.

Call HTC. They may be able to shed some light on the situation.
Glad I got my car dock a couple weeks ago.
A Google employee just recently posted on the official Google Android forums and he had this to say:
"Sorry guys. Now that the web store is closed you can't buy any accessories from Google. Your only option at this time is to buy from third party resellers if you're so inclined. Thanks for supporting the Nexus One!
All the best,
Ry Guy"
Sucks for me, as I was hoping to buy the car dock in the near future.
Was it ever possible to order the docks directly from htc? I'd rather avoid the ebay gouging that's bound to start now.

Darn... So far I haven't been able to find any of the two docks for a normal price (i.e. the price google charged for them).
On ebay I found some US sellers that add 15, 20, 25 USD above the google retail price. Over here in Europe expansys sells, for instance, the desk docks for the (imho) staggering amount of USD 88!!
Any tips would be highly appreciated though!
What are the odds that the following battery is real?
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Original-OEM-Bat...Accessories&hash=item3a5cb74a64#ht_2432wt_912
$5.99 + $3.99 SH for the OEM battery???
Jesus ****ing christ Google, could you **** this up any worse
I am not happy about the way this whole thing has been handled. The car dock took FOREVER to come out, then it was out what 2 months before they shut down the store?
Jesus christ.
i wont lie, this is some bull**** right here... I'm on my original battery and I can tell it doesnt have its good ole charge anymore, was looking to get another one and possibly the desktop dock as well but now we are **** out of luck...
i was going to buy the car dock yesterday, but hesitated. now the store shut today. luckily i found one on ebay for $75. not too bad imo. im willing to spend the few extra bucks. there arent going to be many of these available. i would find one while you still can
I ordered the car dock last night on a whim..... Thank goodness for that. A little bit of a shock to wake up this morning to find the store closed!

HTC Accessory Support
I spoke to an HTC representative this morning to attempt to purchase an original desktop dock for my Nexus One. I called 888-716-3594, a number I read about calling in another XDA Nexus thread.
I was told HTC is gearing up to support Nexus One accessory sales very soon. Calls demand at this number have been many I am told. the representative said to give a few more days, and to monitor the HTC web site "Product Sales".
Waiting to see how true it might be.

Hopefully it happens. If not, Google has royally shafted Nexus One users. I just got my Nexus One right before the store closed down. It sucks that I'm not able to get the desktop dock or a spare battery (should I need one) from them anymore.
I was thinking I would not be able to get my hands on either of these accessories until I read what you posted. Crossing my fingers for HTC supporting Nexus One accessory sales.
i will <3 htc forever if they allow us to buy accessories straight from them. I dont' see why they wouldn't...they still probably have stock of docks and batteries, since they were OEM supply. i imagine they just need to set up the products on their stores.

Really hope this works out!
I just got off the phone with HTC and they said there's no way to buy any of the accessories for the Nexus One, and the rep was unable to give me any information about future availability. She only said the phone was "no longer available in North America."
Sucks.
I found a place to get the desktop dock, but unfortunately the car dock is not available!
Heres the link.
negrielectronics.com/google-nexus-one-desktop-dock.html
THEY HAVE NEXUS ONES T-MOBILE AND AT&T TO BUY TOO!
FFS.. I knew I should have bought a second N1 I really want both the docks now but live in Australia so it's (WAS!) extortion getting them here.. :'(

[Q] Anyone received bundle (tablet+keyboard)?

Quick poll to see if anyone has received a transformer+keyboard after ordering or pre-ordering. I'm waiting on Comet, but having missed the £55 keyboard offer, I don't want to cancel, buy a keyboard-less tablet elsewhere and then get stung for £100+ when it's released...

Not recd yet :-( dont think will do until at least 15 may in the uk
swazpurohit, you voted that you have received it, you want vote #2
Where have you heard the 15th May date from?
Well this is a waste of time at the moment as no one will have a dock shipped to them until mid May at the earliest. That's according to Asus.

I thought it might be a bit earlier than that. In response to a question on Twitter about keyboard availability for those who got in on the special 'early adopters' deal, Asus UK wrote:
'We believe end w/c 2nd or early w/c 9th May, depends on whether Bank Holiday w/end delays internal freight forwarding to stores'
I'm optimistic for the end of this week, but knowing Asus it could be several weeks away before we see the docks..
edit: misread the Twitter thread a bit, actually was in response to a question about the tablet bundle (tablet + dock) being available to buy in store in the UK. Since Asus said their first priority is to clear the dock purchases for the early adopters, I'm assuming those of us who ordered through that deal will get them roughly the same time if not a little earlier.
I ordered my bundle last week (26/04/11) from the car-phone warehouse. I phoned them on Thursday to chase up the status of my order and they told me that they have tablets in stock but no keyboard docks. They're expecting Keyboards in on the 3rd of May and will be fulfilling orders immediately so I should expect my order to be delivered on Wednesday the 4th.

Well the lack of any email confirmation from asus after i paid via bank transfer didnt fill me with confidence. I'm not in a rush to get the dock, although it would be nice to get it sooner rather than later of course. I think I'm in the same boat as everyone else in this regard. Anyways as far as info goes, I've not seen what you have on twitter.
I'm sure it will turn out that a few people wont get their docks, even though they pre-ordered and did the dock offer. At least, I have a bad feeling it will turn out that way, and I'd rather it wasnt me.
i didnt even think about the non confirmation of payment after i sent a bank transfer... does seem a bit strange. Im hoping the dock willbe with me soon.
din't receive any reply from Asus after sending email to them asking for the keyboard offer
Time for a bump.
Anyone received a bundle/combo yet, or are those talking about keyboards people who bought it seperately for $130(£?)?
Anyone recieving a keyboard but has decided or wont bekeeping it please get touch

[Q] Asus Forum Rep

Hi Everyone,
Regarding my recent thread about Asus Support, I received a PM from someone with a user account name "Asus_USA".
Is this guy legit? Anyone can make an account named "Dell_USA", "Moto_USA", or "Asus_USA" and claim they represent the company.
He told me he could get me a replacement unit, not to send the RMA, and that he represented the North America division. This just seems fishy considering I am sending this to a USA address in Cali.
The account also has 0 posts which concerns me as well.
Has anyone else heard from this account? Is he/she legit?

Yeah, that's Hai. He's legit and very helpful and professional. I worked with him on my RMA. If you are concerned, he is more than happy to send an e-mail to you through the normal Asus e-mail. I had the same concern when he contacted me via PM at first.
that does seem really fishy, but if what the guy stated above is true then go for it.
Make sure you ask for an official email and some other type of verification.
hes legit, he's helped a bunch of people.
If it's all above board then it's good to see Asus taking an interest, I wonder how many other manufacturers do the same for their products.

It's refreshing and surprising that you had an issue and the company contacted you before you contacted them. I just don't think people are really used to that.
I'm awaiting my third transformer after sending the first two back for more-than-minor light bleed issues.
If this third one doesn't work...I'm comin after you Mr. Asus man! (for help!)

I'm using my third one too. I love the experience on the device, but some of its apparent issues, specially one with the speakers.
I'm also going after this guy, if the third one gets messed up too
I'm impressed they have a guy on this forum! I"m also impressed with my Eee Pad, the fact this ig got such an early update to 3.1 and the overall design and use of this device.
The only concern I have is after the update to 3.1 when I powered it down for the night and woke up in the morning, it was awake and receiving emails; later when reading an article online, it suddenly rebooted for no reason. I'm hopin this activity does not keep up.
someone tell the Hai guy to have Asus use thicker copper paint next time...mine's starting to fleck off.

[Q] ThinkPad Tablet -- The business-class Android tablet. Can it be rooted?

I am interested in people's opinions about whether this tablet will get rooted. Everything else about it is perfect. If it can be rooted, I'm buying it.
Can we get an Xda forum for the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet?
I'm also interested in buying it but waiting to see what xda developers think in comparison to the Transformer. Could we get a forum for it?
Supposedly the bootloader is OEM unlocked: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPa...545/message-uid/490545/highlight/true#U490545

I chatted with a Lenovo agent today. He checked into this for me and confirmed that the bootloader is not locked.
Here's the conversation:
Please wait while we connect with you with a Lenovo Chat Representative.
You have been connected to _Ryan.
_Ryan: Thank you for choosing Lenovo chat. My name is Ryan XXXXXXXXX and my ID is XXX. What may I help you with today?
Me: I am interested in a Thinkpad Tablet...
Me: Is the bootloader unlocked?
_Ryan: one moment
_Ryan: I am sorry I do not have the specs for that
Me: I read on a forum that it is unlocked, but I want to confirm that before ordering. How can I confirm it?
_Ryan: one moment
_Ryan: it is unlocked
_Ryan: just confirmed
Me: oh, great. With that information I don't have to worry about potentially having to return it and pay the restocking fee.
_Ryan: yes, it is unlocked so you're good
_Ryan: If you are placing an order online, please attach my Rep ID: XXX in the designated area at checkout near where you enter your credit card information. This will allow me to help manage your order from my end and expedite this through manufacturing.
_Ryan: adding my Rep ID: XXX will allow me to ensure your order is shipped in time and I can give you updates on your order status
Me: thanks - i'll use your agent code since you answered my question. I appreciate that!
Since this rep confirmed the unlocked bootloader for me, should I paste his ID here?
All of us who are concerned about the unlocked bootloader could use his agent ID when ordering and give him a little unexpected boost.
I chatted with several other agents who could not and would not answer the question for me, so I appreciate that this agent took the time and effort to confirm it.
I'd like to see a forum for it as well. Very interested in it.

Does anyone have key combination suggestions?
Got my ThinkPad Tablet today, and I love it already!!
Root would be wonderful!!!
My Thinkpad Tablet is arriving today as well! Can't wait to get off work and try it out...
All the early adopters need to get posting on XDA, so that this tablet is embraced and some work can get started on rooting it!
I'd love to see this rooted.
I'd also like to see (like most Tegra 2 tablets) a working Skype with video and Hulu.
Mine is shipping to me as I type...can't wait to get it.

I got mine on Thursday 9/8. Having some fun tinkering around with it. Sadly, the pen and keyboard folio are being shipped at a later date (ordered from macconnection.com, they were about $50 cheaper than directly from Lenovo), so I haven't gotten the parts that made me choose this tablet over the many others out there.
Can't wait for root, though!

Not sure what model you ordered but I got the 64GB one from pcconnection and it came with the pen. Glad I canceled my Lenovo order and ordered from PCC...Lenovo kept pushing back the ship date. From PCC I got the tablet the next day after ordering and it was about $100 less than Lenovo since there was no tax and it came with the pen.
according to the lenovo shop where i got the tablet from, the pen is in cluded in all 32/64 GB models, only the 16GB models come without the pen.
have mine now since 1 week and i'm very happy with it! hope that an own forum will appear soon so the dev on this nice piece of hardware can start ;-)
I would also like to see this rooted! Really liking it so far!
+1 on dedicated forum and root request, this would make the tablet even better. I have to be able to titanium backup restore my angry birds .

Ah, yeah, I got the 16GB model, didn't really need more storage than that (and if I did, I could just pop in an SDHC card). Wasn't aware that the higher capacity models were bundled with the pen! I suppose that would explain the price differences a bit.
Looks like PCConnection and MacConnection are the same business, but it was just that MacConnection was what came up in my shopping search. It's interesting how much cheaper they were than directly from Lenovo, heh.

[wtb][Q] HTC titan 2 on ebay

Hi guys!,
After following the forum for almost a year now, im finally posting
I have a small query. after using SGA for a long time now, i felt like getting a windows phone (HTC titan 2) for a change. titan 2 is not available directly in my country (India) so im gonna have to get it via my sister who lives in USA.
I have found the following sources on ebay.com
1) ebay . c o m/itm/New-HTC-Titan-II-16GB-Black-Smartphone-/140744424071?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item20c5057a87
2)ebay . c o m/itm/New-Box-UNLOCKED-HTC-Titan-II-2-16GB-Windows-Phone-4G-LTE-FREE-SHIPPING-/280869178556?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item41651b8cbc
3)ebay . c o m/itm/NEW-HTC-TITAN-II-2-UNLOCKED-ANY-GSM-SIM-16G-16MP-CAMERA-/330725089435?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item4d00c0609b#ht_1926wt_1396
(im sorry for the inelegance but im not allowed to post direct links. )
my budget is a maximum of $500. the question is are these sellers trustworthy? or could it be a scam or damaged item? the no returns accepted worries me. i don't mind if the pack is opened but i want it to be fully functional in india without any defects.
i have heard from some guy that if you purchase via paypal, even though the seller claims no returns accepted, you can return them to him by giving the return shipping details to paypal and once the item reaches the seller, you'd receive a full refund. this seems to ease the hesitation on my part but i'm still not sure 100%.
can some of you guys share your experiences/give advise..?
thanks a lot in advance.
Hey.
are you still looking for one?? I have one brand new sealed..
and usually people post that up because they are normal person selling it, i usually put that on there
the big companies have customer support and will usually do all that, but normal people dont.
as long as paypal is involved you can be safe, if the product doesnt work then you can make a dispute.
