I like to use my pc as a headset when making calls. I use the bluetooth software and everything works fine. The only thing is, I like the cable sync much more (faster, with charging, no weary clicking through bluetooth connection settings on the device,...).
So, I was wondering
1) if it's possible to use my PC as a headset over USB connection instead.
2)Plus maybe to activate calls using the PC. (I don't mean a complete control, like with MyMobiler)
3)Or if it won't be possible, any idea how to set a "one-click" PDA-bluetooth-PC connection? A shorcut using arguments?
I'm using WM6.5 Touch Pro.
Thanks for your ideas.

Hallo!
I've got an unusal problem...
I'd like to use my PPC (O² XdaMini) as a Bluetooth Dongle.
In my opinion there must be a way to connect the PPC with my notebook (that has no bluetooth integrated) via USB, and then to establish a bluetooth connection between my PPC and any other bluetooth device, which would finally be usable with my laptop.
This procedure is almost the same as using the PPC's integrated modem to get a webaccess with a notebook.
Of course I could buy a USB bluetooth dongle for my laptop. But there could be another way as well, isn't it?
Thx very much for your help, cheers
Sebi
have you got any answers?
I'm also looking for a "way" or " software"" to be able to do what you said. But I couldn't.
Did you have a solution.
This is a very common q - along with asking the same about Wi-Fi.
Currently, this is impossible.
So I connect my device to my PC via active-sync.
Then using a desktop app, I can select contacts, send sms messages and phone people using my pc headset
You may need to provide more information on both the type of headset you are using, your OS and also what type of phone your are using.
For instance, if you are using a bluetooth headset, and syncing via bluetooth, you may have a bit more to fiddle with than a wired headset to a cradled phone.
So, provide a bit more info.
No I mean the PC headset - so plugged into the line-in/mic jacks. The bluetooth connection is to connect the device to the PC.
Basically I want to make calls from my pc - using my phone as the "line".
This may be the way, I hope:

you can control pdas through pc and some allow you to see and download your sms but I am not sure about phone operation.
I'm sure there is a simple answer to this, but I haven't been able to find it.
I am trying to transfer a ringtone via Bluetooth from my Krzr to my new Fuze, and I can't get it to work. The devices pair without any problem, but when I try to send the ringtone, I get a failed message. This is not a copy-protected ringtone - it's just a music file I created. Is there some trick to this? There are work-arounds (transfer the file to the computer and then to the Fuze), but it is annoying and seems like it should be easy to do.
Did you turn on the Beam function on the Fuze? It's in the Comm Manager.

I did. It didn't help.
Strangely, I can send files from the Fuze to the Krzr without a problem. But the Krzr can't send anything in reverse.
I haven't tried a phone to phone transfer yet, so not sure what else to advise. I know it works from computer to phone using bluetooth.
from my experience the bluetooth on this phone is absolutely terrible. itll connect just fine to my headset. but, i cannot for the life of me sync it up with my phone. bluetooth tethering is near impossible with all 3 of my bluetooth enabled laptops, as well as bluetooth activesync.
Go under Bluetooth settings under Comm Manager go to FTP Enable File Sharing and then go to security and turn off Authentication (Passkey) Required. You can keep Authentication on with another smart phone but when I wanted to send files from my LG non smart phone I had to turn it off.
I tried all the suggestions above, but with no luck. It's not the end of the world - the Bluetooth works with my headset, transferring files to/from the computer, and for tethering. It's more annoying than anything else, because there's no reason it shouldn't work.
Hi, I have Nexus One and want to make calls from it using my PC i..e may be just copy/pasting phone numbers in that app and using headphones to speak/listen.
If this is not fully possible, is there anything similar setup possible ?
Thanks
You could try connecting your phone to the computer via bluetooth, then setting up the phone to use the computer's speakers/headphone as the sound output and the computer's microphone for sound input. On win7 that menu will most likely pop up asking you for you preferences as soon as you connect the phone to the PC's bluetooth. In case the menu doesn't show up, right-click on the speaker icon next to the clock on your task-bar than left-click on playback devices & recording devices. (I'm assuming that you are running win7/vista)
I hope this helps!
As the previous poster had stated you could try a bluetooth connection, but a lot of devices limit the amount of bluetooth services can be used.
An alternative would be to get google voice and activate that with your google account. You can call via your google voice number from your phone or from your pc. If you use google voice on the pc it may pipe it through a relay server though, which will change the number on the receiving end.
Have a question for you smart folks. So I've run into this problem of not having a mic for my pc so bought a dongle and it doesn't work and got me thinking, must be an app for that so I looked and found the only one out there is a virus on the PC client side (won't mention names) So I'm wondering, are we able to like maybe make a midi connection through USB PC to the phone and the phone can send the audio/mic to my headset and completely eliminate the none reliability of said bluetooth dongle? I meant there has to be a way somehow if it is plugged in via USB correct?

If it was not WO mic app, check this: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/use-smartphone-windows-microphone/
There are several tutorials on youtube how to connect the mobile phone as microphone to your PC using this app.
