maybe... if finally its possible port without bugs a honeycomb rom (currently exclusive for tablets) from tablets to our devices..
but in my opinion has more possibilities to get android 2.4 into AOSP(ice cream sandwich) than honeycomb...

It should just be an APK, if someone has a rooted xoom it'd be as easy as trying to install the file.

That's probably what he meant. My T-mobile Nexus S is still on 2.3.4.
A lot of these updates are to get the devices ready for ICS and its features.

Not particularly
2.3.4: Rolled out to all devices - Maintenance release - fixed issues
2.3.5: Rolled out to Sprint Nexus S 4G to resolve signal issues, introduced some SE code
2.3.6: Rolled out to i9020a to attempt to fix Search button bug among others
2.3.7: Introduced Google Wallet
All of the releases since 2.3.3 (which enabled Write support for NFC) have been maintenance releases prior to 2.3.7 which introduced Google Wallet. The ICS branch is a completely separate branch of the development tree.
Mean 2.3.3 .4 .5 and .7 and how y'all think is gonna work Ginger/honeycomb together .... I really would love to get honeycomb itself on my phone ...but that's too much to dream of lol

MIUI will most definitely have some kind of ROM developed based off ICS in the coming couple of months.

Any updates on ICS rom development for our Galaxy S 4G...
Not just themes but a full functioning rom?
I think Samsung may update our devices but we won't get a full cup of ICS, just visual treatment.

Samsung already shot that down and I don't think anyone is working on a build or port.

Netflix will only work on Gingerbread at this point because of the broken video record/playback in all versions of ICS and JB. Until the ICS kernel source code is released by LG gingerbread is the only solution for Netflix.
Thanks for the info guess ill stick with cm7 for now
