Mango - HTC 7 Pro

So, who's anxious for the Mango dev-kit to be released? I've got some ideas that I think I can finally work on when the latest SDK gets released.....

From what I know, till Android gets out in market (That means yesterday) there was no andoid roms to be ported on HTC devices only linux but running from wm OS.
I am sure that now Android is out there a lot of people will try to work a complete OS to be ported on other devices.
I am also very interested on this
Cheers,
PD: So this news means that very soon developers can start working on android to be ported on other devices!!!

Go here, you'll find most of the stuff that you need

There is no WP7 upgrade at the moment, there will no official upgrade at all. maybe after the first WP7 devices roll out, we'll hopefully start seeing some WP7 ROMs, but for now, you are stuck with WM6.5

New to Android, just got Captivate; root, etc.

Just got a Samsung Galaxy Captivate (Rogers) and I'm a complete noob to Android.
I know it's running 2.1 out-of-the-box but I'd like to get 2.2 (Froyo) on it. I read the Wiki and saw some unofficial 2.2 releases.
First of all, are the unofficial release stable? Do you first have to root to install an unofficial release?
Is it better to wait for the official Samsung 2.2 release, then root the phone?
Does rooting the phone automatically get rid of all the Samsung customizations or is there more work that has to be done after to get the system to a native Android OS state?
I'm sure these questions have been asked by other noobs many times, but I've done some searching and reading and still a little confused.
If you help me now, I'll help other noobs in the future, I promise

[Q] ICS Source released, anyone have plans to build a rom off it?

Ok, so ICS has been publicly released, just wondering if anyone knows if any devs are planning on using it in a rom soon?
Also if any dev reads this, I have two Inspires, and if you need a tester I would be your man for any ICS project.

OK well sense you didn't want to search let me drop a little knowledge on you. With ICS android will no longer be able to run on any device as is. It will need proprietary drivers for the device from the OEM or open source replacement drivers that have been modded to work for each device. So it is this simple. We wait for a device to get ICS so we can get working HTC drivers. (Hope the device is close to the inspire or it won't work) or we wait for open source drivers. The soonest we will see an ICS rom will be in about 2 months when CM plans to release its first ICS roms.
Please search before opening a new thread.
