IncDoes v0.91 Error?!?!?! - General Questions and Answers

First this is the ROM I am talking about http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790066
I have been trying to flash this ROM onto my HTC Droid Incredible, but I repeatedly get an error. Here is the error:
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
I am currently using ClockWorkMod Recovery 3.0.0.8. I did some looking around and found that I may need to downgrade. How will I do this and which recovery do I downgrade to for this ROM to flash to my HTC Incredible.
Thanks, TheMayne

Can anyone please help me?

Put this file on your SD card, (http://mirrorbrain.cyanogenmod.com/cm/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.7-inc.zip )and flash it in ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.0.8 and it will temporarily downgrade you to ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7. Just flash your ROM in that recovery. Just be aware that this version of ClockworkMod will only be temporary. It will go back to 3.0.0.8 next time you boot the device into recovery. Hope this helps and if you have any questions just ask

Do I go into ClockWorkMod Recovery and flash this by flashing and alternate recovery or do I have to do it in the ClockWorkMod menu by holding power and the volume up button? If i have to do it in the menu how would i do that?

I believe he said flash it in clockwork (recovery). Go to install zip from SD card and flash the file he attached.

I've run into this too. When the phone boots back up just bootstrap recovery and then reboot recovery and choose "install .zip from sdcard" then select "choose .zip from sdcard" and go to /clockworkmod/downloads/ and find the .zip you downloaded in rom manager.
You have to have droid x bootstrap installed and applied with root access before the recovery will work. If you only installed it you must run it first before recovery.

[Q] Flashing CWM onto rooted SGS 4G

Hey. So I rooted my T-Mobile SGS 4G (stock 2.2 firmware) with SuperOneClick. That was super easy, I tested it out with a few utilities and I definitely have root.
So I went into rom manager and pushed the button to flash clockwork mod. It asked me for superuser status, said it was successful, but then it boots into the stock samsung recovery. I've tried this several times and I always have the same result. I'm sorry if there's an answer on this already but I'll be damned if I could figure out how to search for it without coming up with a bunch of unrelated problems.
Thanks!
Try going into clockwork and choosing boot to recovery then after that if it goes into stock recovery choose reinstall packages sometimes you have to choose reinstall twice. That's how I got mine into cwm first time

Oh no that's the problem, I can't get clockwork to boot. No matter how many times I install it using the installer inside rom manager, the stock recovery boots up.
ROM MANAGER DOES NOT WORK. USE KRYLONS CWM FINAL IN THE DEV SECTION.

Yea I no, but wen u boot into it you get the stock 3e recovery and there is an option to reinstall packages

You need to download krylons modified recovery.bin file and use a file explorer app to push the file to system/bin. You need to also have the file update.zip on the root of your SD card. Then you boot into stock recovery and choose reinstall packages. This will boot you into cwm.

[Q] cant mount system, clockworkmod G2X

Hi all,
when i boot my g2x into recovery (clockworkmod) and try to backup, it says it cant mount the system. first it used to say cant mount sd card but the solution was just taking out the sd card and putting it back in. unfortunately i cant do this with the system
anybody have any solutions
That happened to me too... download the update.zip from rom manager and boot that or flash the new recovery image
How do I get the update.zip though? And when I go on rom manager and click on flash clockworkmod, it flashes the latest version 5.0.2.0 but it only stays in that version if I click on restart into recovery. If I exit and turn my phone off then boot into recovery, I still have version 3.0.2.7 and the same can't mount system problem occurs

I just fixed this problem today.
The version of CWM that you have flashed as recovery doesn't have the capability of mounting an ext4 file system. Most likely your file system was converted to ext4 somewhere along the way. You need to flash CWM again and it can't be through rom manager since Rom manager only gives you what is considered a "fake flash", which is why you see 2 different versions when you boot into your recovery.
Use the search feature to find information about how to install CWM 5.0.2.0.
There is a one click installation script somewhere in the development section for the G2x with very good instructions on how to permanently flash a newer version of CWM that can handle ext3 and ext4.
Doing this completely fixed this issue for me.
Hopefully it will do the same for you.

NEVER, EVER FLASH RECOVERY WITH ROM MANAGER!
rom manager only does a FAKE FLASH on your phone, if you want a real recovery, always flash with NVFlash

Did you use ROM Manager to install Clockwork Recovery Mod? If so, that's part of your problem, I think, as ROM Manager does not work properly with the G2X. You have to use NVFlasher and the One-Click Recovery Mod to properly install Clockwork Recovery.
See this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
Hopefully that will get you on the right track. You may also want to double-check, before doing this, that your phone is correctly rooted.
