There's an option under Location & Security settings to encrypt the tablet. Has anybody done this? Rooted?

I used App Ops (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.colortiger.appopsinstaller&hl=en) with 4.3 and disabled a lot settings and I'm wondering did these settings automatically restored with 4.4.2 update or not?
And as 4.4.2 disabled App Ops using, and phone isn't rooted, I can't also check the current settings. Is there some way or I must do factory reset or root (which also does factory reset, when unlocking the bootloader)?
However I have doubts, that something isn't OK, for example, when I open WiFi, there are only saved network, scan doesn't find any networks (but I can add and connect manually), when using WiFi Analyzer, I can see a lot networks, but when I select some and choose to connect, I always get failed.

means whatever you disabled in your apps op is still disabled. and you cannot detect other wifi around because you disabled GPS for your settings app in apps op

How to reset App Ops settings? Factory reset? Root + App Ops? Or?
Edit: Seems "Settings > Apps and hit the overflow icon for the menu. There's the option to reset all app settings. This resets the permission restrictions, too."
If you want appops on KitKat again you need unlocked bootloader, root, xposed framework and appopsxppsed module.
And yes unlocking bl will factory reset your Moto G.

Just flashed CM12S, I used to have "swipe" as my lockscreen security and it worked fine.
I tested the "PIN" security but hate it (have to swipe first and then enter PIN).
However, now I cannot revert back to "swipe"?!?!?! It is greyed out and says "Disabled by administrator, encryption polocy, or credential storage". I do not use encryption.
Anyone else has the same problem? Anyone has a solution?
Thanks.
POSSIBLE FIXES:
I found for other devices the following possible solutions: (I did not test them, I did a clean install with calkulin's ROM)
1. Remove Guest account (it will come back).
2. OR: go into credentials store and just browse.
3. OR: remove credentials store (DON'T BLAME ME FOR ANYTHING, google this solution before you attempt).
Hi pals,
Is there an easy way to force ON Find My Mobile and Re-Activation Blocking options inside Security Menu like a patch (zip to flash from TWRP) or the modification/deletion of some files?
I'm using [ROM] [10/05][Multi-CSC][SM-N915F/FY/G]Micky387_Android_5.1.1_V1.1 (first v.1.0 and now v.1.1) and I'm not able to enable Find My Mobile function inside Security options because Remote Controls trigger is being de-activated by itself (I do login in my Samsung account and thick Google Location Services but when I return to main Security menu Remote Controls remains de-activated)
The same or similar with other option in this Security menu of general settings: Re-activation blocking (I tick in the box an do login in my Samsung account correctly but the box remain unticked at the end).
I suspect my problem started after trying a Xposed module/option but I can't find/remember where and how
BTOH... Is there a way to upgrade (android version) from 5.0.1 BOD3 to 5.1.1 COH2 without having to flash the official release loosing all your data?
I've checked than the inverse way (downgrade from 5.1.1 to 5.0.1) is so easy as restore in TWRP an old nand backup
Kind regards
PD: I've copyied this post here (general Q&A) because maybe it is not a custom ROM related problem.
To find your mobile use Cerberus...it's N1
You can do everything and it's possible to register 3 phone's.

Not all my applications will work with Android 11. How do I prevent my Pixel 3a from trying to automatically upgrade to Android 11?
Enable developer options, disable "Automatic system updates" there.
If you want to prevent your phone from upgrading to the next version of Android, there are a few steps you can take. First, make sure your device is up-to-date by going to Settings > System Update. If your phone is not up-to-date, you can prevent the upgrade by turning off the auto-upgrade option in Settings > System Update. You can also prevent the upgrade by using a device lock app. Finally, you can use a service like Android Block which will stop any non-approved apps from installing on your device.
