[Q] Looking for a multi tool calander with note's. - General Questions and Answers

I'm looking for a app to log event's, take note's in picture form and video form and obviously txt form. I do a lot of scientific project's where I need to log and note down things over time. I'm looking for a calendar-ish look to it but with thumbnail versions of each note in the calendar. Along with it a Widget that has a full month view.
an extra would be great if it had misc tool's like calculator, unit converter, ext..
Closest app I found to this was Extensive Notes Pro. But the interface is too complex.
Any help would be very appreciated thanks!

Bump. Any suggestions are apprecited.

You could try Evernote but I am not sure whether it has a calendar-like function.

google reader . Which is the best

I have tried so many google reader apps. But could not find one thats really good
In iphone i have newsrack - Very good one and has nice preview of images with each icon.
Feedsquare is one with similar fns but sync is terrible
Any suggestions.
I like greader. It reminds me of the mobile site, and is very easy to navigate.
Did you tried Newsrob?
I used to use Newsrob, but now I've switched to using the Reader mobile site - it's great. No good for you if you need offline reading of course, but it gets my vote
I think they all SUCK. I don't have a lot in my list, perhaps 12 sources, half of them news, other tech stuff. And syncing in every Greader app I've found takes forever, often either downloading some X number of total articles and skipping ALL the rest (wtf??) or downloading thousands of articles. Hello, X number of new articles?
So I just read in the default browser, it works great, but obviously it's not offline... Don't try it in Opera, it renders horribly.
Using the Greader site, works ok.
But since I'm using Feedly (Firefox extension) on my laptop I'm really looking forward to their Android app that should be released shortly.
NewsRob works for me.

Newsrob does not give a thumbnail in the list view.
This i find very useful.
See the attached image to see what i mean
Shortcut to the mobile page for me.
gReader is the best in my opinion, tried most everything.
I don't like gReader, it's too damn iPhony. This is Android, no clue why the dev follows Apple's GUI guidelines here lol
Anyway, my vote goes to FeedR, slick and fast. Although if I haven't purchased it, then I would just use the mobile site.
Looking forward to an official app from Google.
Yup, another vote for the mobile site here.
The big problem for me with the Android apps is that they only do the feeds and not the shares from friends (e.g. shares from Google Buzz).
have u all try feedR? i think it's the best from all google reader apps i've tried

Maybe because Android doesn't have a good GUI guideline? Have you noticed how inconsistent Android apps are?

There is a good ui guidline for Android. There is one also for icons, widgets, and what not. Check out the Android Dev site. It doesn't have to be very detailed and covers everything, but it sure preserves the Android style and atmosphere which is NOTHING like gReader.

Did you guys try the mobile site optimized for the iPhone?

I find it displays the feeds fast and big enough to comfortably read without zooming in.

eh? I just go to google reader directly in the Android browser, NOT Opera. No zooming, works fine...

Can someone post the ebook app?

Looking for the apk. I'm hoping it'll install on a Galaxy S phone as well as the email app did. Looking at a video, the ebook app that Samsung put together is rock solid on the reading front, and you can import books too? Pretty much every other ebook app I've seen fails at one or the other.
Its on the market, called ebooks by kobo. Also, its not exactly spectacular.

No I don't think he means the Kobo one.Kobo is the reader included in the reader hub, which should be different to the other one ebooks app that actually looks like the iPad version and that is great.Let me check if I can find in the filesystem and I'll post it

I was anxiously waiting that too, but was sorely disappointed. Ok, it looks cool and the page transition effects are nice.. but BOY is it slow!! It takes ABOUT 3-4 times longer to load the same book in the "eBook" app than it does in Aldiko. The eBook app also hangs and FCs once in awhile, which Aldiko has never done to me.
I heartily recommend you'd try Aldiko rather than get pissed off at that eBook app. Aldiko handles importing really well (except the stupid notifications, but what ever) and is a treat to use. No fancy effects, just sliding pages, but when I'm reading I'd rather read than watch lagging page-transition effects. That may just be me, though.

So you are saying that wait 5 sec is too much? I never had a FC with ebook app but I had with Aldiko jumping between chapters (depending on how the chapters structure was made).

No. I am saying that waiting for 40-60 sec to open a book is frustrating when you want to read. Aldiko opens the same book in roughly 10-15 secs. Also the Tab's eBook app seems to someone lag entirely too much when drawing the transition animations.

Hmm.that might be it.. I'm opening a book with about 700 pages with smaller font size...
Anyways, I like to use Aldiko more because that's faster and the animations lag on the eBook app.

Well, so far no go. Won't install, either with a package manager, or dumping the apk/odex into /system/app. Anyone know how I might try and deodex this? My current rom is deodexed. Maybe that will help?
Also, I use aldiko right now, but I'm a sucker for the fancy effects, at least if done right. The nook app did them excellently, but cannot import well to save it's life.
Hi All,
I just bought Galaxy tab and I am loving tab eBook app, not just because of animations but because of few important features like dictionary which is not available in Readers Hub Kobo.
One quick question- How can I purchase and import books in Tab ebook App. There is no download/buy button.
I have downloaded few books in kobo but I would like to open them in Tab's eBook app. Please help how can I do that.
Hi guys i see some of you like samsung ebook reader, i love it to and im looking for solution to install this apk on SGS II.
Here is the ebook.apk
enjoy
I love also the first one.
On Ics does not work, i tried so many times.
I like the sensation and sound of turn page.

Awesome app for typed-in notes

Just wanted to pass on info on a GREAT typed-in note-taking app - It's called "Classic Notes & App Box". Not only does it have a TON of feaures, but the support for the product is absolutely amazing. I've asked for two new features and they were implemented in a matter of days! Author is VERY receptive to new feature requests!
It also lets you attach drawings, audio recordings, etc t your notes. Plus a TON of "special functions" (zip code lookup, spell check etc).
HIGHLY recommended for anyone looking for a typed-in notes app (as opposed to a handwriting notes app)

I was using Evernote, but i really dont like the interface.... plus, until just recently, it didnt support attaching drawings, etc... besides, i highly doubt the Evernote folks would implement my feature requests, let alone do it in a matter of days!
Plus, Notes Classic has way more features... some of the 'extras' are really cool too.... and the support is simpy amazing...
There is a lite version in the market as well in case anyone wants to try befoe you buy (but i think the free version is missing all of the extras that make it so useful....
EDIT: FYI - with the paid version, from the main note index list, make sure to check out all of the functions under Menu->Extras (zipcode lookup, whois lookup, Tip Calculator, Google Translate and abut 20 more!)... Really slick...

I bet you all know, but since the last update Supernote is included in our stack of apps.
Why don't give it a try to see how it behaves? I bet it's not the most complicated / complete app, but I am sure it's worth a try.
Regards.
The problem with handwritten notes is that thay are not searchable. Plus, I find it very un-natural to actually handwrite on a tablet (same with the iPad)...

iAnnotate lite now available on Samsung market

Just went to the Samsung market and saw the app. They have released only the light version which they are saying will be updated from time to time.
For those who don't know what the app does, it's a well known app that was released for the Ipad / phone and is used to annotate pdf's. Current version seems limited but works well with the S pen.
Once it has all the features, this will probably be the best pdf annotation app available unless Soonr Scribble can beat them to it.
Enjoy!

Just noticed this today.
It's a good idea to peek at the samsung store every now and then since you can sort by newest apps.
It's quite interesting there's no full version in the market.
I guess it's sort of a beta test?
- Frank
I agree, I think that they are testing the water with Note owners to see the level of interest and then will decide how much to charge for the full featured full version. This app was originally advertised as available for the Note and soon changed to 'Coming Soon' soon after the Notes release.
Thanks for the heads up! Checking this out now.
Not bad. I can open a PDF from email, sign it, and attach it / send as email.
No palm recognition though. That may be Soonr's best quality....

Wow, didn't even know that the Soonr app had palm rejection, thanks for that, also noticed that Soonr is pressure sensitive.

Woohooo ! Finally! Been waiting on this for a long time now!
I'm trying to find the iannotate apk to give as a valentines tomorrow and I can't find for the life of me. Tried to trick the market into thinking I have a Note, but that didn't work and I ended up bricking my phone. Any help as to an alternative source for the app?
EDIT: All were sent with annotations. I was just doing view in google docs, which the annotations will NOT show. Now does anyone know where to change the email sig that attaches from the app "Sent from my Tab" and to deltete docs within the app?
Has anyone been able to send the marked up pdf's with the annotations intact? Everytime I send them the pencil writing doesnt show up in the sent document. Ive been taking a screenshot then cropping them, which is unnessecary. Is there something I am doing wrong?
(I was trying to send back a missed signature form, so if it worked perfectly It would have went better and not pissed off my GF)

Noter - a cool app to make notes

Hi,
I'm proud to introduce Noter - free app for making notes with simple and great UI.
Features:
FAST QUICK SIMPLE NOTES THUMBNAILS
A HANDY WIDGET FOR QUICK NOTES
QUICK AND EASY EDIT AND DELETE NOTES
1-TAP ENTRY
1-TAP TEXT COPY
1-TAP CALL PHONES
EXPORT NOTES TO TXT AND EMAIL
As a new member I'm not allowed to post links here, so you can find the app on Market using "com.mobilepilots.noter"
Elena
Hi!
Thanks for the app
is there an option to lock certain notes with password?
and what about syncing the notes?
Thanks!
Gekass,
We are thinking about locking functionality.
What do you you mean under syncing? Syncing with what?
Elena
You say that you can send to email, how about to send to google drive account?
I use evernote, but i would like to find one that would a smaller app and with online storage. think about it!
Thanks for sharing. I use colornote, myself, and LOVE it. If you haven't already, you might take a look at that for more ideas. Like, it has a sync option. So every time I flash a new ROM I can download it, login, and retrieve all my notes.
About to give this a shot. Much thanks.
Edit: just read the first couple of posts. I'm pretty sure the features I just described are what geekass is referring to. Install colornote and play with it a bit and I think you'll see what he means i.e. what I mean

From my point of view Color note has not nice design and usability. But i like the functionality when you can put a single note on your screen. Probably we'll include it into the next updates
Could you please tell me what functions of Color note do you like more?
At version 1.2.1 we added "Edit Mode". It allows you to open notes in Edit state. You can enable it in Settings screen.
