Here is a guide to remove the GPS (location) Icon from the status bar. This is not the current method of going into the drawables XML and removing or making the PNGs transparent. This is a smali edit to prevent the ICON from displaying thus removing the space the icon utilizes from the status bar. If you like this MOD hit the thanks button.

We will be working within SystemUI.apk
Decompile SystemUI.apk
Navigate to smali/com/android/systemui/statusbar/policy/LocationController.smali
Find the three instances of the following:
Code:
"Gps icon"
In each instance remove the very next "invoke-virtual" line
Thats it!
Recompile
Chmod 644
Push to System/app or make a flashable ZIP.
Im trying to change my status bar from the moar folder but doesn't allow me. It keeps showing me failed when renaming
hi allz i am new here i come from romania...and my english is bad.... i want to replace status bar from htc explorer with android 4.1.2 Triumph Black Pegasus, to look like 4.4.2 with that switch icon to have 2 status bar menu... anybody know what i need to replace in rom.zip ?? i replaced the framework folder in zip but nothing...
Guys, I want to change only status bar fonts (clock,date,battery,carrier label). Can any body tell me which files should I edit to do this? Or which files should I select to install font for only status bar fonts? I have downloaded some .ttf fonts, but where I should put these? I just want to change the status bar fonts, not whole system fonts.
Any root guide or windows tool guide will be tappreciated.

decompile systemui.apk (system/apps) and edit the layout of statusbar (Assuming that you know little about programming and use of APKTool)
