hi guyz ,
since honeycombe announced and i am saving money to buy honeycombe tablet but i need help!!
seems like the most known tablets are so expensive and even made me more reluctant to buy them (i didnt like LG) so i have to options the XOOM and the galaxy tab 10.1v,i cant wait for the new GTab coz i hv no one can bring it with him and 28th of this month is my dead line....
so i need your help do you recommend the XOOM to me? is there any bugs/problems with it ( i'll buy the wifi version only)? is it weight a huge problem as media have said? what about the screen is it bad that much?
the Gtb 10.1v is more expensive the XOOM but also with 3G, lighter weight and better screen (as others said,i dont know), but taking in mind in SA it $900 (while the XOOM $600 32GB) it doesn't have an HDMI port and for 16GB
i am stuck in here so i need your help please...
P.S i really care about the updates/support and the performance
Weight is no problem for me. Even when reading comics for a long ass time, I would just switch hands.

Hey guys! I'm just wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm a little upset. Lol.
I used to be a hardcore BB user until my company wouldn't give me anymore short of paying about 400 euros (argg...) so no. THey did give me the HTC Touch Dual for about 100 euros, which was a good deal, but I'm upset with how long the battery lasts! I generally keep IM applications open all day 24 hours a day on my blackberries, and I would finish the day off even with heavy IMing ALL day, emailing ALL day and browsing the web a little and would still have 40-50% on a regular OEM 1000 mah battery. Now with the HTC touch dual, I hardly ever IM, and browse the web a little and still e-mail, but I can BARELY BARELY BARELY get through a day IF THAT. I used to leave the IM application on all day, and now in a mater for an hour or 2 with the IM app open, it goes down to 80%. I ordered another battery, and I'm going to try it. 1400mah, so I'll see...
If not, I'm going to sell it off, and look for a new device. Are there any Windows Mobile phones with a QWERTY or SURETYPE keyboard that has a good battery life? I would like it to be 3g, but i've lived forever without it, so I don't mind it not being 3g. All I need is a GOOD battery consumption + qwerty or suretype keyboard.
Thanks.
Kent.
Found one!!!!

Ohh how much for the Barbie phone? I hear it has bluetooth 3.0, and HSPDA 100mbs. It's highly intuitive if you get the brain implant. lol.
Joking aside, if I can't get that barbie phone, I'd think about the TYTN but how long does the battery last for? I mean, it's already a large device (but having a BB Curve & 8800!) I'd say this is also a large device, and I don't mind. But if I'd need an extended battery for THAT Phone... I'd kill myself. lol.
with microsoft exchange active (on 'push') the tytn battery is very poor (standard battery). same goes for wi-fi use.
i'd get one or 2 extended batteries and keep them as spares/backups.
Has anybody tried this vehicle bluetooth dock? Looks pretty bad ass and would work with future phones. Maybe this could be my last dock for a while? Just wondering about the volume rocker on the sensation. Looks like accessing the charging port might not be an issue.
Looks well made and not really a bad price when you price the official sensation dock (that doesnt have bluetooth)
What do you think?

Looking at the pics makes me miss my n1 a little lol...
But personally I have never used parrot, but looks like a good alternative. But this tread reminded me about my BlueAnt S4 that I have stashed away because it didn't play well with my Nexus one with MIUI.
Just ordered it along with a sonos s5 zone player and zone bridge.. gotta love wireless
That product screams "Break into this car and steal me... im worth it"

Yes the wonderful N1. I ordered a new one from ebay for $250 bout a week or so ago, gave my original to my girl when i got the EVO 4G. It looks like the senation may spend a few days down being replaced so the N1 will make a nice back-up.
Bump... Its hard to believe nobody has tried one of these...on any phone? mine has shipped so it wont be long now
I have two days left on my return period at Best Buy for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.0, but I really like it.
I downloaded android apps and I'm reading acrobat .pdf files and text files with ease. It's really good.
But is it overpriced? Save $100 and buy the 7 inch? Buy the Nexus 7? Wait 4 months and buy the Microsoft Surface?
I can already see myself carrying my laptop (90 minutes battery max.) less often, especially since I'm getting 9 hours
on my new tablet. Even if it drops to 6 hours it's pretty good.
I'm using it to read .pdf files and make screenshots and edit the screenshots with my finger. It's amazing. It's already saving me hours.
What do you think? Was I an early-adopter too soon? Should I refund it?
I'm not comfortable with Google's Nexus spying habits (my prediction) and Google's history of invading my privacy. I also don't need a carrier device and monthly data plans. I bought a wifi only device for offline work.
I sync with my PC using the Samsung KIES software, and although it's slow and a little annoying, it's ok. It does the job.
My big concerns:
1. Jelly bean. Did I buy too soon?
2. Superior tablet in 3-4 months with longer battery life and better screen.
3. Buyer's remorse?
4. The future of Ice Creme Sandwich.
My opinion:
There is always going to be some form of buyer's remorse. In 2 months there will be something better, in 2 more months there will be something better than that. If you are happy with the tablet you have now....then stick with it. I have the original GT10.1 and am happy with it. Yes, if I had waited 2 months I could have got the transformer prime or the GT10.1 version 2.
If it's already increased your productivity and you are happy with it...then stick with it. XDA devs make my tablet worthwhile, even with Samsung dragging ass on updates. You have the advantage of an external sd slot, something I don't have.

Im still awaiting a case/protection for my nexus 5, and until i have some protection for it its not yet my main phone, however ive been using it at home, and ive just noticed a mark under the screen, which could be a dead pixel or dust

outlined in red ( phots not that great but you can see the mark that doesn't move regardless of whats on screen) - highly irritating now i know its there, my eyes are drawn to it. would this be a RMA job?
Yeah, its kind of tough when it's near the middle of the screen like that. It really depends on how much it bothers you. Mine just came in the mail an hour ago and after playing around a little, noticed 1 small dead pixel on bottom right of screen. It's kind of gray, not black. But I'm not really noticing it, I have to really look for it and even then it's hard to see. My phone is otherwise perfect - no vibration issues, power button is solid, etc. I think I'll just keep it.

Yeah I would rma it. That would do definitely bother me.

I have a speck of something in almost exactly the same place. RMA won't be shipped until December 3. Hope the replacement doesn't have this issue.

its a dead pixel, mate
Its dead pixels. I had two of this massive dead pixels on my iphone 5 and the apple genius guys replaced it with a new one.
You should definately RMA it and get it replaced. I was planning to buy a nexus 5 myself but have been getting negative feedback on the speaker quality and the dead pixels issue hence I think I will either wait for the LG G2 Mini or something else.
So I take care of my phones, pristine condition!
I left my phone on the coffee table, and no less than 5 minutes later, my dog decides to be insanely hyper and wacks it with his tail about 10 feet across the room....
It shouldn't have broken as the room is carpeted, but I think it hit the screen on the corner of my entertainment center.
In other words, it's completely smashed. The screen still works and responds to inputs just fine, everything else is perfect, just a shattered screen...
So would it be cheaper/better/faster etc. to sell it on ebay and just buy a new one, or send it in to have the screen repaired?
Or how easy is it to replace it myself, and where would I buy a new screen?
On ebay you can get lcd assembly for around 120 USD.
And watch tear-down video (Le55ons on youtube) about Nexus 5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPuCmfhzgbg
you can decide for yourself if you can do it.
Is that much of a difference in cost than sending it in?

I would get a new one regardless of cost.

Well, on top of the replacement cost you will pay labor/shipping ... So, you might be better at the end just buying new device
Yeah, I guess that's what I'll do then. Buy a new one and hope to get some decent recovery selling this one on ebay for parts or something....

Do you still have this phone? I need the logic board for a nexus 5. I am interested in buying it.
