Will a1gb micro card be big enough for gold card? - HTC Inspire 4G

I have a extra1gb SD card, is that big enough to make a gold card instead of using my factory 8gd card?

If I'm not mistaken I believe 1gig is the minimum required, so yes you should be fine.

transferring files to sd card too slow

im trying to transfer a new rom(327mb) to my SD CARD to flash but its taking way toooo! long.. it receives by 500KB/S now, before it was MB/S. its taking 10minutes to transfer it. is something wrong with my SD card?
How good of a computer do you have? Try not multitasking like 10 things at a time and transferring if that doesnt help, you must have a lot on your sd card try clearing uneeded files.
If that doesnt work, the final solution, buy a better sd card...

Welcome to Class 2 SD cards. Now you know why they're so inexpensive.
I have a transfer rate of about 5mbs...I'm fine with that...

I had that problem when I backed up my SD card before making it a gold card. Everything came off the card at 18MB/s but it went back on at 600 KB/s. The card has continued to work fine since, though.
I have the 8gb that came with the phone.

SD Card Transfers

Hi I just got a 32gb SD micro sdhc card. I put it in my g2x and in SD card and memory in settings it says empty. If I go to applications and try to move a application over it says SD card is full. I think this is because my internal SD card is full. I didn't know I had an internal SD. How can I move it to an external display. App to SD card doesn't work and sdcard enabler didn't work either.
Thnx

K starting with what rom you are on would be helpful. They all handle the internal/external stuff different.

I have the stock 2.2 rooted

What brand card do you have?

First dl es file explorer, its free no ads.
Second make sure you don't have some BS cheapo generic card and that the class speed isn't over 6. From Lu own experience higher speeds are redundant and there's really no difference. I have class 4 16 gb Kingston and it works perfect way faster than any normal class2.
If you are royalty confused which is the phone external and which is the onevypu put in, set your phone storage to external take a pic and there you go easy path tobthe right storage folder. Gl

SK 4G able to hold only 2gb sd

Hey guys new to the forums but quick question here. I have an unlocked SK 4G and i wanted to put my 8gb micro sd into it but when i do, the SK malfunctions and is unable to turn on. can it only hold a 2gb sd card ?
I have a 6gb micro sd in my Sidekick 4g and it works perfectly. You should try formatting your sd card.
Yeah it should work with any Micro SD card, I'm not sure why memory size would affect the phonee.

alright thats whati thought..I am going to try it out
So I have the 8gb micro sd card inserted now, but my SK 4G is unable to even read the card. It won't alllow me to format it because it thinks I don't have an sd card inserted. Any suggestions ?

Have you thought maybe the Micro SD is defective? Try using it on a different phone.

Yea I think your card is bad because I have a 16gb card in mine.

Try sticking the card in a PC card reader and formatting it there. If the card is good it should work fine. I'm running a 32 without any problems.
Can I use a 64GB sdxc class 10 on my sidekick 4g?

[Q] SD card is damaged.

I am getting a message that says "SD card is damaged. Try reformatting it." Is this referring to my external SD card?

Yes just format it but you will lose everything on it.Everything

The way to find out is to either remove the external card or download an app to check the sd cards.
If you are going to format, try to copy the cards over to your computer first.
When I mounted to my Mac, only 1 card mounted ( the internal) instead of 2. I copied everything off and formatted it just for my own peace of mind. I then copied only what I absolutely needed back. After a reboot, i had the same error. I then shut down and removed the external card, and no more error messages. No great loss, nothing on there that I don't have a backup of already. I guess I need a new external SD. This one was only a class 4 anyway. Do I need to move up in class?

Upgrading classes isn't required. You can go out and buy another Class 4 or even a Class 2 if you so choose. The only difference is the write speed (4MB/s vs 2MB/s respectively). If you use an APPs2SD type app than a Class 6 card will be a good recommendation for you to get as it offers 6MB/s write speed which in turn cuts down on loading and saving times of any apps you use off the card.
But in terms of upgrading classes because it's required, it's not. Buy whatever class card you need or want to buy.

Can internal SD card be switched out?

Well this may be a stupid question (I tend to start a lot of threads like this lol) but is the memory of the nexus 5 just an SD card that's no removable inside the phone? And would it be possible to switch it out for another SD card by taking apart the phone and putting in another one? Im guessing if it would work someone else would've tried but thought I'd ask to make sure.

There's no internal sd card. The memory is soldered to the motherboard. Android just refers to that storage as the "internal sd card".

OK thanks I guess it was too much to hope for. 16 GB is enough for me but I was thinking it would be nice if we could get that extra storage for cheaper. But I guess if it were that easy then no one would buy the 32 gig lol
