I just switched from the Evo and was wondering if the Roms in the dev section ok to run on my phone?
If you search the nexus s forum for nexus s varients there is a thread explaining some of the differences between the models.
Oh and I guess the short answer would be: yes.... yes you can

You should be fine running anything based on 2.3.4. I can't say regarding 2.3.3 based Roms or earlier. But 2.3.4 Android includes drivers and code for CDMA and WiMax.

Its the nick name that Google's likes to put on their phone operating system version. On every .1 they update they release it with a nick name. So Gingerbread is given to Android 2.3, Froyo was given to Android 2.2 and it just does down the line to 1.5 i believe.

Yes Gingerbread is the new Android Operating System. It is also known as CM7, 2.3.2, or 2.3.3. It is much faster than the older OS! I am using it right now.

Well they separated them for a reason, so I'd assume you should stick with the forum that is associated for your phone just for safe measure.
Look for specific NS4G titles.

hi ,
can some one help me ROOT nexus s (s=off) and get sense ROM ported as well?
Please let me know some good htc roms that can be ported on to nexus s...
Cheers...

For root use the stickies at the top of the development subforum. For sense, buy an HTC phone. Its all AOSP here, the point of this phone is to have stock Android. Please familiarize yourself with the search feature or do some good old reading.

Sense is also closed source afaik, so you can't just port it. You need to rebuild it.
Apreichner is trying to do this btw

MODS please remove this thread. OP this does NOT belong in the DEV section.
Or move it

Not development related.
Is there a direct download for 4.04?
