Mybackup pro I/O error after flashing gingerbread ROM? - T-Mobile LG G2x

After flashing paul o'brien's leaked gb ROM, I get the following error when trying to restore my apps:
Error:
I/O error: unable to write to SD Card. Make sure the SD Card is inserted properly and is not connected to you PC and is not full
I've factory reset and cleared the phone memory. Still get the error.

maybe you have a faulty SD Card

i get the same issue. i use titanium generally though. just have to move your titanium backups to external sd and let it detect from the settings. your sdcard is probably fine. it's the way mybackup is seeing the internal memory.

im getting this same exact issue too.
i was able to restore my contacts and data just fine, only comes up when i do my apps.

I'm having the same problem on my DROID 2 GB leak. Really annoying. Sometimes it'll work, but usually the apps, both backup and restore, give me I/O errors. Data backups/restore seem to run just fine.

I have the same issue too. would love to hear if there's a solution out there.
Just did my first rom install and I'd rather use mybackup than titanium, but am currently unable to.
Will give it a bit more of a shot, otherwise will just use titanium

I think my issue was due to the SD card. I reformatted it and then copied the contents back again from my laptop. I've now re-installed the new ROM and am using mybackup root to restore my contents as I type this - all seems fine so far

I only had this issue on the gb leak rom. On all other roms including the ones based off the gb leak, I don't encounter this issue at all

Formatted sd card messing up backup ability

After a lot of forum research I was finally able to successfully root, install cwm, and miui onto my wife's fascinate. I used cwm and made a backup on her stock rom, a backup of her miui, and used titanium to backup her apps. Everything was fine until last week she had an issue while trying to update miui causing the sd card to show as blank or having a bad file extension.and Ultimately we ended up having to format the card. Now with a formatted sd card I cannot backup any images of roms. Using red cwm I get an error saying e:error/dev/block/stl11 and e:recovery/log/file already exists. I am assuming this is because the new card does not have any of the files on it, but when i tried putting them in the root it still does not work. The phone and current miui rom work fine, and I can Odin stock froyo if necessary, but I would like to get things back to how they should be. Aside from using odin to flash back to stock and starting all over is there any way to get the necessary files onto the sd card to make things work correctly. I've seen other similar thread but in most the phone seems to be not working at all, ours works but just wont let you backup or flash roms now.

[Q] Asus App Backup broken after ICS

Did OTA update to ICS on stock B90, then rooted with vipermod. Root is confirmed. Now I'm looking to backup installed apps and user data using the Asus App Backup app. Everything sets up fine, password entered. 21 apps + data selected, file named, etc. Get message that it will take about 10 minutes to complete. Pathnames are correct, folders are present, permissions seem ok. Runs for about 10 seconds, comes back with " 0 Successful " and 21 failed. Red x's by all selected apps. Any ideas?
Ultimate goal is to backup apps and data, then do a factory reset to clear cache and data from HC, maybe even do a stock recovery to ICS then set everything back up. Trying to see if this will clear up any of the annoyances that came with ICS update.

Yeaah.....
Well I don't really have a solution but i'm certainly experiencing the same trouble u have I Did OTA update to ICS on stock, then rooted with vipermod number 1 option on the vipermod. Root is confirmed. Im trying to restore a previous backup I did and no luck error message is "Failed to restore.please try again"
I just ran a backup of 10 apps to test it on Revolver 4.0.0 Beta 1.31 ICS. Worked perfectly for me.
You can try going to Settings - Apps - App Backup - Force Close then Clear Data
Then try running the backup again.
Just for reference it's worked great for me twice on rooted ICS (stock) from rooted HC (stock). Good luck.
Where are you storing the backup, internal SD or external (microSD)? Encountered this one before until I found out that there wasn't enough space in the microSD. Suggest try to back up first on the internal SD and copy it later when it's successful. On ICS, I had done two backup and restore and all went well.

Backup path is set to internal, with a copy going to external microSD. MicroSD is 32GB and hardly anything on it, so room shouldn't be a problem. Might try without creating a copy file, and sending it over manually.
Tried that and failed again. So it would seem that it just doesn't like writing the apps and data. When I look in the Asus/App_Backup directory, it creates folders for all the apps, but then doesn't write anything to the folders. Interesting.

No....trying to create backup of apps after ICS update so I can do factory reset. I actually went ahead and did the factory reset last night, and got everything back from Amazon and Google markets, not too painful, but still would like to know what's up with the backup utility.

Ahhh ok. Yeah don't no, I don't use the Asus bloatware.
well I fix my problem. Flashing Revolver 4 by Gnufabio | 4.0.0 Beta 1.3.1 then restored all app with no problem at all.
How?

How? Do you mean that you fixed it BY flashing Revolver 4, or that you fixed it first, then flashed, then restored?
I'm on a B90, so not really looking for flashing ROMS right now, as nvflash doesn't work.

[Q] "lost+found" orphan

Titanium Backup has been unable to clean an orphan file it finds called lost+found.
I got this when installing Doc's ICS rom, but also saw it when I tried Slim's ICS rom. Never saw it using GB roms. Have done complete wipes and system formats prior to flashing these roms.
When I pull the SD card out, TB doesn't show this orphan. Also, SD Maid doesn't show it anywhere (sd card in or out)
Any thoughts? Should I reformat my external card? Should I just ignore it and assume it's a bug in TB? It is not affecting performance. I'm just a nut when it comes to keeping my phone clean and bug-free.
Thanks
I wouldn't worry about that file. I have always had it, and it probably serves some hidden purpose.
you can just delete the folder. i do all the time to keep my card clean. i have had no issues.

Can't Install Any Apps

So I've encountered this problem on another ROM where I wasn't able to install any APK files or any other applications in google play. I did some research when it kept telling me I don't have enough space to install the application because of low memory, which I obviously knew all my memory was good enough to install something, and I came across a thread somewhere that said to delete some type of file in the sd card or the system files but I can't remember what and where it is located nor I can't find the thread again. That resolved my issue on my old ROM.
I'm having this same problem with another ROM I'm currently running. Anyone know any solutions?

i can promise you no one will help you with such a vague question. if you were able to search out your answer before, surely you can again. if not please specify what rom you are using, or more accurately post said question in that roms forum so you can get a group of people that are currently using the same rom.
not to come off mean, but you pretty much gave me enough information it compares to a person taking a car to a mechanic and saying 'my car is broke'
after looking at your post history, it seems you are having all kinds of problems with your phone.
My suggestion would be redownload your rom, put it on the sd card, then in 4ext or cwm set it to format all partitions except sd card. and then install your rom, reboot and ill bet your problems go away.

Well, I actually did search this problem I'm having when I first had it a couple weeks ago and I found a solution which was to delete a file in the system or SD card but I can no longer find it, hence the reason why I am asking for help on this.
I was able to install apps or APK files fine before I restored all my SMS and MMS messages but now I can't. I doubt it has anything to do with the ROM because it was working perfectly fine. And even after I restored all the messages, I know I have enough internal storage to install an application.
Now, what your saying is it too backup my ROM then format all partitions except the SD card. Whenever I try to back up a ROM, I don't understand why it takes up so much memory which causes it to have an error when it's in the process of backing up because of no more memory. The android secure folder that's on my SD card gets backed up with the ROM which is a big file and that's what causes it to have an error. That is when I have about 1.2gb free to backup. And people say when you backup ROMs it shouldn't be over a gig.
My ROM is Android Revolution HD 7.0.4

Problem will occur if u are restoring sms messages from a rom that isnt based on sense (like cm7, redemption, etc etc) unless you are using an app to do that like sms restore or gosms, for some reason ive had issues when i had TiBu do that for me.
I personally never backup and restore anything, sucks losing stuff but it is honestly the only way to create a clean environment. Backing up a rom takes up so much because (i could be mistaken) when you do a imaged backup from cwm or 4ext it takes even your cache folders into the backup.

Even when I clear cache?
I used My Backup Pro to backup and restore my messages. Hmm.. maybe I'll just backup my ROM, partition everything except my SD, and flash it again without restoring my messages and see if that helps. Thanks.

Corrupted hardware??

EDIT: I updated TWRP, wiped everything (including data/media) and restored a backup. I was able to get a successful backup. However, apps still crashing randomly. Does anyone know how to check for memory errors and repartition to use only good space?
Original Q:
I have installed Markox89 Dhollmann (sp?) ROM clean and bare (only Google play) and it's crashing. I am now also unable to do a nandroid backup in TWRP. I'm thinking I might have corrupted hardware. Does anyone know how to check/diagnose issues like this? It's not just my external SD card. I can't backup to internal SD card either.
I think I have a 2 year warranty that's almost expired (a quick point to instructions for returning to stock for return would be welcome).
