[Q] Unlock pattern lock - General Questions and Answers

Hello.. this other day a friend came to me with hes and hes phones. both locked up.. reason: too many incorrect attempts to unlock and no way to recover it.. none of them have a Gmail acc and none of em have made a security question..
the one of them is an Xperia x10 mini pro (U20i) and the other is an LG GT 540..
i would like to find a way to unlock them WITHOUT having to whipe memory

Is the actual phone locked, or the SIM card? If it's the SIM, you just get PUKs from your carrier.
Also, when I did a factory reset, it did not wipe my actual data, but that might just be mine, maybe somebody else can explain.

its the pattern lock.. no sim is in either of the phones atm.. (i have tryed with and without sim nothing works)

can anyone help me?

Just call your phone and when you answer it go in to menu then settings while in call and viola!!!!

[Q] Unlocking sim card Hell

Hi there!
I just bought a SE Xperia x8. It was Locked to 3 uk.
I used a unlock online service to unlock it. Did everything right as it was in the unlocking manual. But in the end of the process the software Multi unlocking client frozed. The know the mobile doessn't recognize any sim card.
In the hiden menu the X on the network lock is not there anymore as it was unlocked.
And when I try to connect to a network the message I get is "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network"
I rooted it changed roms and the problem persists
Can anyone help me?
The Online unlocking service wants me to by more credits and try again....
Have the same problem... any fix for this?
I just opened my own thread for exactly the same thing last night - did either of you have any luck getting this fixed?
Oh God, I remember MultiUnlocker from my Palm Pre days. What a horrid piece of software it is.
I'd recommend contacting their support division and outlining your problem. I was able to gain the necessary three credits to unlock my phone (stupid bloody thing took that many goes).
It may prove problematic that your phone is kinda 'in limbo' ie. showing unlocked but not. You should be able to input a code from the emergency dialler giving you access to the engineering menu, which will allow you to re-lock your phone, then the code should work.
I'll subscribe to the thread in case you need further advice!

I've changed the OEM market a couple of time, with wph tweaks and WinTT, but now I put back the lg market
however, when I try to use panoramic photo, an LG app,it says that my phone is not LG and it doesn't work
Before an hard reset, did you have a possible troubleshooting?
thanks

Change the OEM to LG marketplace, wait for it to apply to the marketplace (a few hours or like a day) and then it should work. Hope your phone is "LG" and not something else in the registry also. Theres always negative results of changing in the registry.
I got this problem too, but I prefer "having" a Lumia
check my signature.
thanks for the reply
I've tried several time to restore the LG store, delete and reinstal the app, rebooting the phone between every step, but nothing work, at this point it can be a registry problem

If I use the nokia store, only a few and usless app work
I can live without panoramic photo if I can use all the nokia app
Thanks

The time you have to wait for your phone to recognize it again and change back the marketplace could be between an hour or a day.
Note: What I did with my phone is very very risky and may brick your phone since it has registry changes etc.
I got LG Optimus 7 with Mango latest update.
Changed via Registry DeviceTargetingInfo
MODeviceName
Lumia 800
OemName
NOKIA
And my phone is OPN (No special simcard req)
Rebooted the phone and it changed everything on the phone to "nokia".
I did a few more stuff for boot and such.. but I'm not going to write it on here.
I also got the latest Nokia apps fully working without crashing at all and registered on Nokia Labs and my phone.
Now both Zune & Windows Mobile device manager thinks my phone is a Lumia 800 and shows the phone and options when I plug it in. Also I might be able to update my phone somehow randomly to nokia lol...

I don't know what LG_Blocked means, but maybe because your phone is locked to a operator, ex. AT&T.
I have no idea else, just wait for an answer
Yessss
I've changed the registry key OemName to LG, deleted "wph tweaks" app, and now it work
thanks

[Q] Xperia J locked in Emergency mode- but an unusual tale maybe Mission Impossible

Hi all,
I will be eternally grateful for your help but I am not holding much hope.
I got this new phone from my operator Three in the UK back in January this year.
All works ok except for the screen calibration which I did not get round to fix.
On Monday I decided to put a pin lock on my phone, as I haven't been using
the pin lock for a few years now. I chose the pin code, then I stupidly tried
"Lock Sim". Then the screen came up with sim locked, PUK needed.
I did not make even one attempt with the PUK code as I decided to phone
my operator for it. We went through the procedure, he gave me the PUK
code and we managed to unlock the sim card and then I remember the
pin code (as I always have) and inputted it and the phone is unpinned.
I need to mention that we did have one or two bad attempts where
I couldn't hear the technical guy too well and I did enter the wrong pin
once or twice, but less than the 3 attempts limit and we did have to
take the battery out 3-4 times due to this and also because
I kept putting the sim card the wrong way round being very careless.
The sim is unlocked but on the screen it is "no service" emergency
calls only, where if you choose the emergency option green button
it will give you a menu and * # . I can see some symbols on the top
such as wifi connected. If I call this mobile phone I can pick up
the call, the screen has the usual answer or reject phone symbol on.
But during and after the call pressing the home/back/menu button
on the phone (off the screen ) have no effect. I told the technical
guy about this. He suggested a new sim but if I put my old sim
in my other three pre-smartphones phones it works. However
this phone is tied to this sim card/phone number only as I try
my other sims on it and they do not work.
I have tried a few things:
the 7378423 thing with all the right *#, doesn't work. but 06 works to get IMEI
cannot enter fastboot mode holding down the volume up button and plugging
USB in, but can enter flash mode.
I do not want to lose data as I have some important data which I haven't
backup to my sin so I don't want to use PCC or SUS to install either
the current OS (I think it is ICE cream 4.04 ish) or the new jelly bean.
To complicate matters my phone is not USB debugged enabled so I
cannot use software to do a quick backup of my phone I tried
mobile me from wonderware(?) and its needs usb debugging.
PC companion doesn't have restore and backup anymore, or at least
not for xperia J as the Sony support guy told me, if it does it probably
needs debugging enabled.
Talked to Sony support, he said the only way is to use PCC to reinstall
software and I will lose data as expected. I asked him if Experia J
and the newer Xperia phones have disabled the 7378432 service
code and if there is a new one which he can tell me. He says there
are no new codes.
The phone is not totally now working, I managed to get into "safe mode".
I wonder if the phone actually is rooted or has bootloader unlocked I
read if that is the case it may explain why the 7378432 does not work
as it only works on sony stock rom. But then I came across other people
whose phones may not be bootloader unlocked and this code does not work.
I also came across people who cannot get into fastboot mode.
Maybe because my batch of xperia J, together with customisation by
my phone operator has disabled 7378432 and fastboot which I don't thin
so as Sony themselves mentioned the use of these two important
elements in their unofficial but be warned section on unlocking the
bootloader. I wonder when I took out the battery a few times when
I spoke to the technical guy my phone is locked due to security but
as I said before the PUK code was entered correctly first time round
if not second time round, so is the pin, We just took the battery out
and retried about 2 times as my sim was in the wrong way round.
Finally my apologies for the long post, the phone still has my wallpaper
on it and the error message I used to get from an app (telling me the
app is not working) when I turned on the phone. If the phone was
flashed/rooted then it was not done by me, it might have been done
by a previous owner and then returned to the operator within 14 days
and then my supposedly new phone is this rooted phone. Without
usb debugging enabled its hard to go into recovery mode via
usb link/flashrom/boot etc? But if we know which rom we can
try to go into recovery mode without a usb link by pressing a few buttons?
At the end if I have enough money which I don't sadly someone at sony
can probably take the phone out and do some high level fixing, as long
as the memory is still in tact which I hope it is. For some reason the
phone is locked in this emergency calls only mode. I have not made
any attempts to root it etc before Monday and no attempts to root it.
I just thought the 7378432 can "unlock" a phone lock like the much
discussed xperia Z - if the phone is on a pin/pattern lock etc.
My attempt to go into fastboot mode is to hope that by getting in
and getting out of it the phone will reverse back to normal. My situation
is mainly complicated by that I really want not to lose the data, sms
particularly when we try to unlock/unfreeze the phone.
Extremely sorry for the long post, if anyone can help I will be
most most grateful, bye for now.

If it's a pin (in the sim card), I'm afraid I can't help you out. If it's a password you have on the device, just do the following:
Tap on "emergency call" and type*#*#7378723#*#*, so the service menu will come up. Note you may have to do it 4-5 times to come up, so be patient.
When the service menu finally comes up, go to "customization settings" and then tap "reset customization". Tap "yes" if it asks you for it, and the phone will reboot. After that, your personal settings (e.g. theme, wallpaper), as well as your password will be back to factory default settings (so passwords will be wiped). ALL your personal data (e.g. music, images, videos) will remain, as well as your contacts and similar stuff. Have fun.

I've tried it on an i.c.s. powered xperia u and it worked properly. So if it does require to put a sim card and what I told you doesn't work it must be a sim lock. I recommend you to turn on the device, connect it to your computer and get everything you have in your phone to the computer. Then give your xperia j a flash via flashtool only (pc companion will upgrade your device to jelly bean with all locks remained, so you need a clean flash of a generic firmware).
