[Q] Just installed UCLA3 Radio & Kernel but Kernel still 2.6.35.11

I just installed UCLA3 Radio & Kernel using CWM on a rooted, stock Rogers ROM. However the Kernel info still 2.6.35.11 in the settings menu.
The radio appears to be updated, but not the kernel.
Is this correct? Should I see a different kernel version number? If not, what's the difference with this kernel if it's still 2.6.35.11?
Woops, found the answer in another thread. Installed CPU Spy and it shows the UCLA kernel.
Besides removed CIQ and supposed speed and connectivity issues, does this kernel have anything "special" in it, like ability to under-clock, or BLN?
no, its labelled "stock." If u want these features use romracer 0.03, which has some of those

romracer 0.3 kernel does have BLN, USB-OTG Host enablement, FUSE, and a few other tweaks.... but does not have UV/OC patching.
hey stated that he MAY implement this feature, but for now u r correct. Notice I did say SOME though

[Q] 4.0.4 stock , kernal needed for voodoo

can someone tell me a good kernal for using voodoo colours on 4.0.4 I fancy getting voodoo back bln is good but i dont mind if i cant use it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=883&order=desc
There are numerous kernels out there with Voodoo added on. You need to experiment and find which one suits you. We can't tell you which one is the best for you.
Almost every custom kernel being compiled for the NS has Voodoo, except for simple kernel i think.
I use Air Kernel 3.9.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469842
make sure you have a i9020, and not i9023 since Voodoo only works on i9020 because it has Super AMOLED Screen.
After Flashing the Kernel you have to download Voodoo control app from the market
Gd luck
anyone know which kernel that have voodoo but without the random brightness issuse ?

[Q] [i9023] BLN with JB 4.1.2 factory ROM and *Matr1x* cfs v23.5 kernel

Hi,
I just flashed *Matr1x* v23.5BLN kernel for BLN support, but it does not work on my Nexus S i9023. I tried BLN control and NSTools for activation, but without any success.
Does anyone have experiences with BLN with the same configuration?
Thanks in advance

That's my same issue.
BLN can be set with some difficulties on JB.
In my case, I'm using Marmite kernel. BLN works, but I cannot keep the lights on.
... indeed: in testing mode within BLN control, lights go on but not when
a call or sms come in I think the best thing is to move from
factory to CyanogenMod or another custom ROM
BLN problem

Correct!
I'm using stock OTA 4.1.2 and matr1x 23.5 kernel, flashed using TWRP recovery, installed busybox, activated through NSTools.
BLN works excellent on SMS and missed calls. Blinking works fine too, OC 1.2ghz works fine also.

I did nearly the same: self-installed stock 4.1.2 via update from 4.1.1, CWM recovery, DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su - will try CyanogenMod M2 today
