hey guys, i've recently got into editing manila (im hooked) but i've hit a snag. i need a dark, say maybe half transparent background behind my slider. as you can see in the pics, its not an issue on a black background but when theres colour on the screen it becomes a bit of a mash.......anyway guys, i'll leave it with you to see if you can help out...

also, is there a fix to make the screen behind the large menu icons a bit darker..?, im seeing too much of whats behind them....thanks.

ok......settings, personalize, home screen tabs and there you go. you can rearrange and delete in there.

Those "tabs" are qtc images into manila. files which are allocated into /Windows directory of the phone.

As Don said - slide to your settings tab (usually right hand end of tab slider) then click on personalise, then Manage Tabs (or whatever it's called). Then in the list of tabs you can re-order them or disable them. You need a restart after any changes for them to take effect.

i've been searching for a proper bg4all-app on this forum for a long time. and believe me, i tested all of them posted around here
there are some which mess up my homescreen (as descriped by many others), but otherwise work good. and there's one which doesn't mess up the homescreen, but changes nearly EVERY manila/sense background, e.g. selecting a contact when trying to call etc.
i mainly use dark backgrounds, and so dark fonts can't be seen in the contact list anymore...
so, is there an other possibility / app to get a background on all the sense tabs (only the tabs, not on the "sub screens" of manila too) ?

Just teke the solution of dzekinz. It works without any problem. To get this background in a couple of more screens, go to "Pictures & Videos" in "Multimedia"-Folder and browse to the background of your choice. Then click it and set it as "background for today". Maybe this helps you...

It means I can choose my own picture to be my background for all manila pages?
I found a way to change those 3 shortcuts, that acer did not alowed to remove/change them.
ok with a registry aditor go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/Acer/shell/Homescreen
and will see some strings values like
ShortcutLinkPathx
then edit the ShortcutLinkPath1 (or 2 0r 3) and erase the adress of the shortcut.
now save changes, go to homescreen ans press edit!
you would be able to change them whatever you want!

for about a month now I can't find a solution..
I cannot find out how to replace a shortcut of the first three and if you want to remove again
you have to do it in the registry.. they are not customazable like the other six..

Just use Co0kie's Home tab it shows missed called etc with minimal change of the homescreen, use the search function to find the thread hope this helps ^^
it increase number of shortcus (makes them smaller).
also it changes few things in the layout which i dont like much

You can turn off all the things that change the layout so that it looks exactly the same as default. Everything in Co0kie's home tab is optional.
I dont have notification in the top bar,
it would be nice if I can see all the changes in one place really, ideally the lock screen but I dont want S2U2.

Sorry mate - my bad. The next release, which is imminent, will have 3x3 back, as well as number of quicklink pages, so you don't have to have the left and right ones (if you don't want them).

Some of you will say that there is Cokie (or whatever name it was) and there is Jamrecords 16 Shcut & Calls, but I do not want those. Cokie for example disables swipes between screens, but I use that option to go from home tab to People. Jamrecords 16 Shcut & Calls has only 16 icons on home screen, I use 20 icons.
I also do not want any fancy icons or whatever, I just want the button with the black and white icon.

You can use Co0kie's Home Tab for this. You can turn off all the other features and it does not stop you from sweeping from tab to tab. That was in a very early version and was fixed quite some time ago.
Thanks johncmolyneux for your answer. You are right that I can install Co0kie's Home Tab and turn everything off only leaving the Call History button, but I really don't like the idea to install such a huge addon and only using it for a button. That's why I'm looking for an option just to add this button.
After an hour of digging I really can't find a standalone solution for this. And I do not have the time to dig into windows mobile to create such a solution by myself.

+1 for just the Call History and if possible without the Calendar as I never use the phones calendar for appointments so would rather get rid of it. I've been searching all morning/afternoon so far and I know Cookie's app does this but I don't want everything else I'm happy with my phone in it's stock form would just like this little add-on. I am using Co0kie monsters excellent homescreen and prefer to link my individual contacts on each of the quick links, but want to put a quick link to the manillia people app and not the horrid WinMo contacts app but other than being on the homescreen tabs can really find the program to make a shortcut to it on the device...
Any help?

Why not simply "slide left" to go directly to the people page? (by default it is the second tab)
--or-- make a shortcut link to \windows\manila.exe --switchtopage people.page
then touch "All People" to load the detail page. There may also be a shortcut to load the All People detail app directly, but I don't know of it, sorry...
Cheers for the reply... I was trying to get my tabs as minimul as possible to only 4 and the settings plus I dont like the big people icons on the people tab normally... will try to make a shortcut, cheers
i believe there are mods to do that in the tweaks, you make the icon smaller and transparent. otherwise hide the tab completely by sliding over to the right for settings tab. click on personalize then home screen tabs. uncheck and clear the boxes of all the unwanted tabs. just make a shortcut at your home screen. i generally just hit phone at the bottom in the menu to get to my phonebook.
