Anyone know where the exe for the manillia people app is?
I am using Co0kie monsters excellent homescreen and prefer to link my individual contacts on each of the quick links, but want to put a quick link to the manillia people app and not the horrid WinMo contacts app but other than being on the homescreen tabs can really find the program to make a shortcut to it on the device...
Any help?

Why not simply "slide left" to go directly to the people page? (by default it is the second tab)
--or-- make a shortcut link to \windows\manila.exe --switchtopage people.page
then touch "All People" to load the detail page. There may also be a shortcut to load the All People detail app directly, but I don't know of it, sorry...
Cheers for the reply... I was trying to get my tabs as minimul as possible to only 4 and the settings plus I dont like the big people icons on the people tab normally... will try to make a shortcut, cheers
i believe there are mods to do that in the tweaks, you make the icon smaller and transparent. otherwise hide the tab completely by sliding over to the right for settings tab. click on personalize then home screen tabs. uncheck and clear the boxes of all the unwanted tabs. just make a shortcut at your home screen. i generally just hit phone at the bottom in the menu to get to my phonebook.

Hello, just curious if there was a way to make a shortcut (with icon) to settings page. HTC Home has one to Programs but would like to have one for Settings too. Would love to get rid of the Start Button.... I have searched but not really found what I am looking for....
Thanks.
not too sure about the actual syntax for the link to the settings folder but this list will show you how to make a direct link to a particular setting...

Thanks, but still looking for a way to link to the settings pages, like if I was to click settings from the start bar, but have the link in Home's Application Launcher...
Is there a simple way of creating application shortcuts to appear on your today screen without having to click on the windows start menu to find it?
I have searched the forum & found many similar questions but they all seem so complicated.
All I need to do is create a shortcut for an application that normally fires up when the phone is switched on but I need the ability to have quick access to the shortcut incase the app is ever accidently closed down.
This app should always be on as well as the data connection to which i also need a shortcut for.
So the COMM MANAGER icon as a shortcut for quick access would be needed to enable a quicker start to Data connection if offline for some reason
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Yes. Go to Start/Settings/Today/Items tab where you can select what you want. At least I can do it on Touch 3G (Jade).

Yes thanks but that's not what I mean, I have already tried but found that you have limited choice to what you can add. I need to add other items that are not included in th items tab.
Try this...
It's a simple shortcut creator for the today screen - sounds like just what you're after.
I use this and have had no problems with it.

Thanks for that, it does look like exactly what i need but for some reason it does not work on my O2 XDA Mantle and the Samsung Omnia, both using Windows mobile 6.1
I get the same problem on both phones where after instalation the app does not appear in start menu or in programme files.
I have selected "Easy today Launcher" in the items tab of the today screen but nothing appears to allow you to use the software
I'm on WM6.1 on a Sony Xperia and its fine.
Did you add any icons to it?
It doesn't appear in programme files or programmes - just in Today settings.
Go to Settings->Today->Items.
Make sure the box is ticked next to 'Easy Today Launcher'.
Select 'Easy Today Launcher' so thats its highlighted gry, then click options. Use add to add a new application to the bar, remove to remove ones you don't want, and up and down to chane the order. You can also select whether you want large or small items in the options screen.

Doh!!
That's it thanks
It now works
I found another app called SBSH iLauncher but it's not free
it allows shorcuts to documents which is something else I need, it doesn't look line Easy today Launcher can do this as it only creates shortcuts to applications.
thanks for your time.
Hey people, i have been looking under tree and rock to finde some sort of way to organize Apps in to folders, in the main menu. With no luck so far.
I am i just blind and stupid or have Android made the same mistake as apple did with no way of organizing applications (albiet, appels problem is a bit bigger than Android's).
Anything to help me keep my Main Menu Organized ??
Kind Regards

"main menu" being application launcher drawer/cube? Or home screen?
Stock application launcher drawer/cube doesn't have the option, and I fail to see why anyone would need such an option, given that -
1) Home screen supports folders.
2) There are plenty of apps that allow grouping applications in "folders" of some kind (virtual ones) on the home screen.
Your "main menu" is the home screen(s), not the application drawer.
How about 'Apps Organizer' from the market.
- You can set up categories
- Apps can be in multiple categories
- Assign custom or predefined icons to these
- Both widget and shortcut support to put these categories on your home screens
- Fave apps so they stick to the top in the folders
- Optionally have all folders/categories as subfolder from 1 main folder. Now that cleans up everything into a single icon.
It's a lifesaver if you use a ton of apps and want to stay organized imho.
nice apps organizer
for me it has been FolderOrganizer by Fabio Collini for quite some time...
After trying every app organizer I could find I settled on "tag home" to fix this problem. You can create tabs in the launcher, sort the apps by tab, prioritize the items in the tab sort them, have an app under multiple tabs, (easier than remembering if gmail is in internet or communication) and you can shortcut the tags onto the desktop as folders. plus, it's free in the market.
Just my 2 cents, and that's about all my advice is worth....

I am also looking for an efficent solution! But i think we have to wait until apple releases its OS4.0, which will be able to organize apps.
Then suddenly there will be apps developed for android who do the same thing. Its sad, that it has to be this way...

Why would you think that? There was Advanced Launcher for 1.6 that did this, and many home alternatives that do this. It's harder for rosie because it is closed source.
PS. You can make a folder on the home screen for a long time and dump applications into it, just like the magical iPhone can't do yet.

Advanced Launcher doesnt work at all.
Does Rosie mean Sense? (Sorry i just got my first android device)
I didnt find a decend Homescreen replacement that has this feature. Only Tag Home Launcher, but this app slows my phone down (very noticeable!).
The Replacements, which worked fine (for example ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro), didnt have the ability to sort apps in the draer/starmenu...
If you could point me to an working replacement I would be happy!!!
But, coming from windows mobile my experience is: nothing new is developed until apple does it and then sudenly the market is flooded with apps, that do this. ( I was looking for more finger usability since Windows Mobile 2003SE ^^). Of course there are few exceptions...
But please proove me wrong!
About the ability to create folders on the homescreen: I know this ability exists! But in my opinion one big advantage of android is the widgets on the homescreen. I like my homescreen to show me the time, my appointments, the weather...
For launching purpose i would like a simple menu with all my apps (categorizeed, sorted the way i want it )
the way I see it: the iphone has no homescreen it only has a launcher. But soon this launcher will get better than the one from android (now they are equally bad^^) and that is when i think apps will be released to overcome this differnce. But it should be the other way around...
But again: please proove me wrong!

So until I find the perfect solution I'm using the folders created for the on-screen but I'd like to be able to rename the folders. As an Android n00b is that possible?

To change the folder name:
-Open the folder.
-Touch and hold the bar at the top of the folder.
This should give you the "Rename folder" dialog box.
Good luck.

Ok, Ive looked to see if I could find an answer to this, but no avail......
Im running v2.0.0.0 CHT Editor on WM6.5 on a HTC Blackstone, and I am wondering, as I cant fin the answer here or in the fone settings etc....
How do you remove quicklinks from the page after they have been added?? What has happened is that with my fat thumbs, I have added multiple instances of the same program, and instances of programs that I don't want on my quicklinks table, and all I wanna do is remove them and replace them wih the programs etc that I actually want on the table....PLEASE help, this is getting incredibly infuriating....Thanks guys.
I don't know which version of CHTEditor I'm using, but if I click "Action," then "Edit Quicklinks," I just tap the ones I want to delete, then hit "Finish," or whatever, and it's done.
I don't have my phone in front of me, so I'm not actually entirely sure of the names, but you should get the general idea.
Hope this helps.
On the bottom bar: Menu - Edit Quick Links - Then tap lightly the quicklinks you want to remove (if you hold, then you move them) and a "X" icon will appear on their side - On bottom bar: Done and voilĂ , the icons you (and ME too) don't want disappear.
Hi everyone, noob here.
I come to you for advice after exhausting my ability to Google properly.
I have an idea for a homescreen project and I will try to describe it as clearly as possible. I am running a Motorola triumph with cm7.
I saw a screenshot of someone's phone which I am hopeless to find again.
HERES WHAT I WANT:
On my main homescreen I want shortcut links to other homescreens that are organized by function (work, communication, social, gaming). I would like those shortcuts to be text-based, but larger than the standard icons.
As far as I can tell, only adwlauncher ex has shortcuts to other screens. I don't want to swipe, nor zoom out to a view of all screens to select.
The reason adw bothers me is that there is seemingly no way to change the size of icons. I downloaded desktop visualizer but it does not give me the option to choose one of adws "screen 1,2,3" shortcuts to configure.
In the simplest terms, I want adws screen shortcut links with the ability to resize or change them. Maybe I'm missing something simple (this is my first Android and I've only had it for maybe 45 days so that's probably likely), but I wanted to seek advice from the best forum for information.
Thank you for following my meandering mind, if you have any questions I will try to clarify.
James
I hope it's OK, I don't want to make a bad impression, I want to bump this thread.
Have you tried folders I have four system media tools games with hundreds of apps between them.
There's an app called smart shortcuts that organizes stuff all so.
