Okay, this is a two part questeion:
1. Does the TF have a default video player? I tried to play a .avi file and it said that it failed to open (i navigated it using the file explorer)
2. If not, which is the best video player to use? Most of my files are in .avi format
It does have a video player. If the stock one did not play it then install moboplayer.

But when i click on oneof the videos after i installed mobovideo, it goes to the video mode and then goes away. What do i do?
A lot of video players can't run hd. Rockplayer(lite) works for avi files.

Change the decoding setting from hardware to software. Then moboplayer will work. Moboplayer settings.

Would you be so kind to tell me what the profile settings are?
I'm currently ripping to 720p MVK format @ 1280x720 H.264.acc with an ~2250bitrate.
Converted movie file sizes range from 2-3gigs.
So far I've found this to be the smoothest format without too much stutter playing in dice player.
For a stock player
It's also possible to convert films as .m4v format. In some converters it`s a profile for iPad. Also, if the codec is h264, but the format is mkv, you could just repack it.
I use Handbrake and it creates perfect .m4v files for me from both DVD's and Blu-ray's. HERE is a guide that will let you create 720p high profile movies for H/W playback on apps like Dice and MX video players.
Just so you know that you'll need software like AnyDVD to decrypt the Copy protection running in the background while you rip the movie.
[Q] Using what encode so that video file could be played as "Hardware Accelerated" ?
I'm using Media Coder (X64) on my PC,and I use "CUDA encode" & H.264 format, which should be supported by Nvidia & Tegra2...?
But unfortunately, all the video files I created by above method, only could be decoded via "soft cpu mode" within MX player of Mobo player on TF101..
Hi guys!
Some mkv movie files I watch on my Asus transformer prime tablet are a bit too dark, and no Android Media Players allows you to change brightness on the video file when you are playing it. So I was wondering if there was a program on pc that allows you to change brightness on a mkv video file without having to convert the whole file? I would want a program where you can just edit the brightness, then save the new file, like that. No need to spend hours converting each file.
Thanks!
What is the best streaming app that I can use to stream mkv, divx, xvid, etc from my UPnP/DLNA NAS unit directly to my TF300T?
Have tried Twonky but the compatibility is woeful, the MyNet ASUS app, plays the mkvs but with no sound.

DivX Media Server let you stream video files from PC to TF300T or Window Media Player. On TF300T use BubbleUPnP to Render/Play them via MX Player. It is also a media server itself which stream video file of TF300T to your PC via Windows Media Player and VLC.
