I was wondering if there is a haptic feedback fix zip floating around? I'm running Doc's Kitchen ROM and would like to flash a zip if possible. I searched around but haven't found one yet.
Thanks in advance
I'm pretty sure Mikey Mikes GB roms have HF? Not sure how he did it but he may have a fix that applies to your rom.
Haptic feedback has worked in all the GR ROMs.

No it started after the first batch of beta's when MikeyMike released his first beta.
It has to do something with settings and decompiling I think but I don't know where to even begin there, maybe if someone could teach me to fish? :

That's why I said GR, instead of GB.
Haptic worked for me too in the other ROMs, except the home key. But I don't count that as working, really.

The home haptic feedback function is found in the phonewindowmanager.smali that shows up after decompiling the classes.dex from within the framework-res.apk/framework/android.policy.jar. In the past, making the needed edits to phonewindowmanager.smali, recompiling classes.dex, placing it inside of android.policy.jar and then either pushing this to system/framework with Root Explorer or a new flash would get the job done. I have also seen that some users are simply copying the phonewindowmanager.smali from MikeyMike's ROM to the decompiled classes.dex of other ROMS and then recompiling them to get it working as well.

This is a mod for the lockscreen so that the capacitive menu button is disabled for unlocking. This has been tested on Vanilla Lockscreens, but should work the same on HTC Lockscreens. This also has been tested on 3.29* based sense roms, unsure if it will work with other bases. If you have other fixes (i.e. reboot button change) you will overwrite that. Please post if you need me to upload a fixed version of that. Thanks goto ViRuS for the idea, and brut.all/jesus freke for apktool.
Instructions:
Download flashable zip.
NANDROID NANDROID NANDROID? did i miss something?
Reboot into recovery.
Flash zip and reboot.
That was easy wasn't it?
No more accidental unlockings!
Cookers/Developers: If this does not work for your rom, PM me and i can make individual flashable updates.
Rom users: reply to the thread with the base rom that it does not work on. I can find the base myself and make a list of updates.
Edit: It will take awhile to reboot, because i added a cache and dalvik-cache wipe to the update script.
Added mediafire mirror.

Just flashed on Fresh 3.3.0.1 and it took a while for the phone to reboot but it's working great. Thanks!
Sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar. This is very, very appreciated.
Would you be willing or be able to get to the bottom of the graphical glitches with the Vanilla lockscreen? I know it's plaguing more than one person, myself included.

Here is the page that talks about the fix and has the files, and this is the file itself.

Just found a bug (and a pretty major one). It worked perfectly fine disabling the menu button unlock; however, it also FC'ed the HTC dialer, vanilla clock, and HTC gallery every time I tried to open them. Nandroid was my friend today. Not sure if this will happen with anyone else.

You are correct from what i have seen, also, there is an easier way to do this, also i didn't think the Menu button even did that, sure hasn't anytime i have tried it, or maybe it's because i'm using sense.

BW is a program you get from the Market, cost US $1.97. Then copy the files in the rar to your SDcard "\data\beautifulwidgets\skins".

Like I said before, alot blue. But will be adding more colors to this rom as time goes on. As I said many times in my TP2 thread, I welcome feedback from the users. Working together is what will make this rom a great one. The direction this rom will take in theming al depends on what you, the user give to me in feedback. The only I will NOT do is, what I have seen on other websites. Text in place of the images icons. Maybe I'm just old and set in my ways, but I don't see the purpose of that.

I flash to DK28 from a custom Dk17, I thought that flashing the DK28 would fix the GPS problem I had in DK17. It didn't, found you need to return to stock DI18 and get a GPS fix then flash to DK28 and GPS will then work great.
Thanks to all for posting and looking forward to building a great rom together.

Need more infomation to understand what question you have. If you trying to flash Odin 1.6 DI18 then turn your off phone and unplug from PC. Run Odin, put modem.tar in the PDA section and pit file in the pit section. Now plug the usb into your phone, open the keyboard and hold the number 1 while pressing the epic power button. Now you will see a yellow screen, now click start on Odin. If you get that it failed, then start the whole process all over again until it does.
Sorry if this is down and dirty quick answer. But I really did not understand what you were asking. And don't worry about being a noob, we all there at one point or the other. It's taken me 3 months to get up to speed on Android cooking and still have a long way to go.

It should be stated, (last time I read this thread it wasn't) that this does require a rooted rom.

I see a definite improvement, the only issue now seems to be getting used to using a hard keyboard again before I can really assess any change.

Have you looked into the bml partitions for the sgs4g? It seems that we might be able to flash bootloaders using redbend_ua after all. Been poking around with some dumps I made of the files. So far I think bml1 contains the primary bootloader, and 3 or 4 might contain secondary bootloaders. I ran the dumps through strings to see what kinda messages the samsung devs put in there... Yes yes random rambling.
this is the UCKI3 leak deodexed and packaged with entropy's daily driver kernel.
it is CWM flashable for all to try but it is my first deodex and this is a test build from samsung so expect issues.
the kernel from the odin package gives me unreliable cell connections. i will post it later for those that want hdmi and i hope others experience with it is different.
there will be more to come on this, i need to come up with a good rom name then the debloating and stock app modding can begin. i plan to atleast remove the battery full notification, theme the launcher (because atleast in froyo the launcher needed to suport hdmi so im not sure i can just use gtg's great launcher) theme the notification bar and who knows what else.
when att releases it officially i will certainly move on to that as a base.
the link is below
flash me if you are brave
edit:
the known issues are that
-entropy's kernel and hellraiser dont seem to like my dock or car dock , no audio over usb (this is not unique to this rom on my phone)
-crazy rainbows if you use the stock kernel (not packaged with the rom for the reason that the incomplatible bootloaders bork recovery, if you are used to using odin you probably dont need this rom as it is still basically stock)
edit:
hdmi supported kernel is now attached. warning! this has no recovery! let the media scanner run before opening the camera or previews will be rainbows.
edit:
-the cell connection with the att kernel can be unreliable but it "seems" to be better if you shut down the phone in flight mode and restart.
-the email app is broke. im not working on a fix yet.
-wifi doesnt work with a rogers based kernel
this whole thing is a learning experience for me. i'm certainly not a gtg or linuxbozo. far from it infact.

You can always pull the modem.bin from the ZIP, and push it to your phone manually, although I don't remember where it goes, someone else will probably say it.
That's what I'll do when I get home, back to my Infuse (took my Inspire to school today so that my friend can play with it, lol).

Just replace modem.bin in one of the cwm modem zips. That is what I did and works like a champ.
Nice to see someone new taking some initiative!

Yes it is!
This leak or whatever it is can help fix some of the issues the Infuse is having with Gingerbread roms.

This modem is quick for me. A little faster speeds. I'm running a very modified stock froyo rom.
