[Q] Run 2.x apps on Honeycomb - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

noob question, yea, I know, but I cant seem to find it anywhere!
I was wondering if the 2.x apps in the android market (i know some are the wrong size) can be downloaded to a device running honecomb. For example, can I get the amazon app store on honecomb and download all the apps I buy there?
any help is appreciated, thanks!

2.1 system image for emulator yet?

Hi people!
I'm not fully set into the whole thing about system images and the emulator. What I'm doing here is running the emulator with a 1.6 system.img to get to the pay apps since it's not available in Sweden. I'm then transferring them to my phone. It's the only way here when the apps aren't available on slideme etc.
Question: I've run into the problem of getting 1.6 specific apps even when 2.1 versions are available from the market due to the 1.6 system being emulated. Is there any hacked system.img for 2.1 yet or any other way of fooling the market that I am using a 2.1 version phone. All I need is to get the 2.1 version down, it doens't have to work on the emulator phone, I just need it to get downloaded from the market.
Hope this isn't considered "warez" here or something, I'm paying for the apps I'm downloading.
Kristian
Id love to know how to do this as well.
As it seems, it's not possible. At least nobody I've asked has any clue on how to do it.

[Q] Some apps don't show up in market

I'm looking for several apps in the marketplace. I know they exist but they don't show up. I have a Samsung Captivate, rooted and running the lag fix and gps fix. I have run the market access app to emulate several other market places T-mobile, Verizon, Sprint etc.
For example, I cannot find paintshop pro, Logmein Ignition, or Caligo chasers. I have heard that some apps might not be available to rooted phones but to me that doesn't make sense. Excluding apps from the market literally forces you to pirate them because they cannot be legitimately purchased from the market.
Is my phone being excluded because it's rooted or could there be some other problem?
Is there a workaround
It seems that after a bit of research that I can see that google has made rooted phones unable to see protected apps. There must be some workaround for this, I cannot imagine all the rooted android users just not having access to large quantities of great apps.
My rom might be the problem
Upon further investigation it appears that my particular rom, and not the fact that I am rooted, might be to blame. Does anyone know how to hide my rom from the market or if I can access the market in a way that will make the market think I am using a different rom.
no work around?
does anyone have an Idea about how to work around this? I seem ro be missing out on some great apps.
Figured I would post in here instead of starting a new thread since this pertains to my question/issue.
I have a Samsung Vibrant running on SoftBank(Japan) network. I rooted and had initially loaded up Bionix Fusion JACs Kernel(TeamWiskey) ROM and was able to download Angry Birds off of the Market. I then wanted to try out Frankin-Twiz (Eugene373) ROM, after I loaded the ROM I went to the Market to find Angry Birds and it wasnt there. This was the only App that I know for sure that I couldn't get after loading the new ROM.. there might be others, I just cant say what they are.
So it is defiantly a ROM issue. Anyone have any ideas why?
try market enable which is available in the market. but i think u also need to root your phone to use it

Ended up just getting AppBrain instead of using Googles Market.. seems to have all the same apps with less hassle.

[Q] Apps missing from NS4G market

I am running the stock v2.3.4 build GRJ22 on my ns4g, but can't seem to find some apps on the market. Specifically, Google Listen, Google Goggles, Facebook for Android, HandyCards-Rewards.
Any idea why they are not showing up. I have seen in some other forums that people have them on their NS4Gs. Do I have to root it for these to work?
One of the other device forums mentioned having to do a factory reset. Is that the only option?
Pure stock? Did you root it or anything?

try going to market.android.com and downloading them from there
If its not showing it probably isnt supported with gingerbread. Although some apps might "work"
Uncle Jimmy says hello
I have experienced this quite a bit, and it is very frustrating to say the least. Essentially the market filters out "incompatible apps" based on the android version. However I would rather be able to download it and decide for myself whether it is compatible or not.
Nevertheless there is no way around it (that I could find). Myself and all the other cm7 users have experienced this since running cm7...
I would imagine there is a way to bypass it, but who knows how and how difficult it would be for that matter.
Try the following apps;
Market enabler
or
Market Doctor (by Tibu)
may fix your problem
awsome..trying now!
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App

You're talking about side loading. You did not download Facebook directly from market did you?
You can certainly side load the newest market version but it's NOT optimized for tablet.
The latest up to date version for tablet is what you have.
but if you want just download and install the market from here

Your original question was "How do i get a market Update?" which you will not because you are up to date.
okay i understand.
but i´m still wondering because i got on the original rom no chance to download facebook so i think there must be maybe a filter or something for tablets when loading the market site.
When I first got my TF, FB was pre-installed. Some times after that they removed it from market for HC tablet. So now when it get update, I just pull it from my phone and install it on the TF.
The most up-to-date market app caused a lot of my apps to force-close. If you sideload it, remember this, in case you start getting apps unable to run.

incompatible apps??

Hey everyone...
I just did a Google search for this problem and was extremely disappointed..so I figured I'd check with the great minds here at xda...
My girlfriend got a transformer for Christmas...and she has an HTC desire z...both devices are listed on her Android market account...
However when she started get tablet for the first time...most of her apps from her phone were already installed...and now when she searches the market for apps...it doesn't show certain apps from the market designed for tablets (specifically the weather network app..which I have on my tablet...not the weatherstrip one but the TWN one..)
I tried to share it via gmail but when she clicks the link..she gets the "app is incompatible with your device"in her tablet....
Is ether any way to bypass this or change some settings somewhere so that she can download it??
Like I said...I can see it and download it...we have the same versions and same settings..
Thanks in advance!
