[Leak] An Early Look At Gingerbread For The T-Mobile G2x - T-Mobile LG G2x

AndroidPolice has the goods!

It won't get me to buy the phone again, but I do very much hope it resolves many of the software and battery problems plaguing some users.

The battery is killing me! I hope it resolves it!

I think I saw somewhere its a Droid-X OTA update the new goodies were taken from.
There was a leaked OTA from HTC its 3.28.651.1. The upcoming fresh 3.2 uses it.

Probably best if they keep it under. Now that I think of it, there was that issue with the last leak were a bunch of people flashed it as is for whatever reason.

isn't this becoming like micro sprint and htc, where they tell users an update is coming soon but no eta...if something is causing problems in uploading why tell users watch out we are going to upload something soon ( don't know when)

Considering we don't pay the Devs tons of money as we do Sprint and HTC, and they instead do it out of the kindness of their hearts, I think it best we not be a$$holes by not rushing them. Just saying
VirusXroM RC1
Enjoy guys !!!! getting some screenies up now
ur right
never thought that way...sorry
I hope that guy really feels like an @$$ now. 4 mins later Virus drops the link. Anyway, Thanks as always Virus!

It's quite alright. We're all human, and we all make mistakes. Just be more patient in the future and try not to rush the Devs, we'd rather not piss them off and not have anymore custom ROMS. That would truly suck a$$.

oh yeaaa!!!!

yea dude that was the only problem i had to besides minimal screen bleed but i can give two ****s about that, dont see it in everyday use so, but yea as far as the battery being wonky u seen it more on gingerbread roms like cm and fauxs, **** one minute it would say 80% then u would reboot and it say 36%...lol, so if they truly fixed it they are geniuses we shall see....really soon!!!
If they could incoperate the Lg camera into GB then i would be sold
Foking sweeeeeet. It was my only issue.... When its fixed I'm on it..
This is awesome news, the one qualm I had with CM7 is now fixed!
Awesome! Yeah my battery was jumping all over.. Even went from 28% to 2% after watching a 1 minute youtube video

Really....why would you want it incorporated into froyo?? Wonky battery only happens in gb.....froyo rom (eb 1.05fr) works perfect.

If they could fix the apn from disappearing after reboot that would be sweet as pie

My battery is pretty funky on Froyo...it'll take about 40 minutes to go from 0% to 36% when charging then 10 minutes and it's up to 100%...Then when not charging I'll have about 85% battery then 20 minutes later with the phone in idle the whole time my battery will be down to like 32% ...I'd say that needs a fix unless it's only an issue I'm having.

assuming that you have CWM as your recovery, go in there and wipe the battery stats and you shouldn't have a wonky battery any more

You missed something else that's awesome about tonight's nightly. I'm at work so I gotta copy and paste:
CM_arcee RC
"My dark magical powers have beaten the G2x's radio into submission. Starting tonight, p999 gets a battery meter and twice the data speed "
"And by "twice the data speed", I mean this: http://www.speedtest.net/android/61150479.png "
"The G2x has a (now working) dual-channel radio for HSPA+, which the 2X doesn't have."
the news just gets better and better..man and some of u guys think development is at a halt??? yea rite!!!

lol.. you should donate to P3 droid for making this leak possible and imnuts for making the recovery... if you still feel compelled, well, I won't stop you
$2 is all
Sure will be happy to donate $2 if i can get it sooner
Does this have working google voice and video chat?
knew i could count on you. lol
Awesome! I've been following all the drama about this, and am glad to see it looks like P3 and imnuts may be coming to a resolution. I'm also glad that P3 is doing the right thing and releasing what he has, relying on donations rather than forcing payment. Hope this leak will help the community move past this little hiccup, and I hope that everything works great! Look forward to getting this and seeing how it runs, even more excited about seeing how Humble, Gummy, and other versions perform once they're out! Thanks for getting this together for us danalo, and thanks to P3Droid for deciding to release this in a fair manner. And again thanks to imnuts for all his hard work, and the CWR that we will no doubt be using along with this, whether we flash it ourselves or not. Can't wait till tonight!
Nice and I cant wait till tonight.
when you say recovery...do you mean CWR and a kernel?
is a kernel going to be included in the odin package?
Thanks
Big thanks in advance to all those already mentioned. I will be waiting patiently.

Glad to see that the Droid Charge will be running the latest and greatest of Android very soon!
Rubbing my hands together in anticipation of a sleek 2.3.4 with voodoo... yay!
Got the leak via TBH app and also donated to p3droid and imnuts. I'm very grateful to both for their efforts on behalf of the Charge community. I hope others will follow suit so that the work they do will continue.
Next on the agenda: a donation to Kejar.

so tell us about the leak.....how is it?
do tell!
I downloaded it as well, but won't be flashing until I am off work here in a few hours. I dont believe there is clockwork recovery installed on the TBH leak though which is kind of a deal breaker, probably won't flash until then.

Nope, at least not with how it's currently packaged.
It's actually running very well thus far; much better than EG2 did.

You can flash Imnuts CWM odin directly after the leak without even restarting the phone. It worked fine on my phone.

Ice Cream Sandwhich Info

A friend of mine's father works for a major phone company. Legally I'm not aloud to tell you. But I have info on ICS, and if you have any hope on wanting info. You'll believe me. First of all ICS is completed. The release version is 4.0, not 2.4. It truly fuses Gingerbread, with Honeycomb. You know how the new Motoblur status bar looks? Thats kinda the whole theme to it. ICS is aimed to work on any and all devices. Tablets, and Phones. Just how a while ago somebody found out that hidden in HC is a GB UI. ICS UI will depend on the size of your screen. SO obviously tablets have Software buttons, and Phones hardware. Apparently there's an option to enable Software buttons in a menu similar to CM7's tablet tweaks. There using a new way to manage apps and the memory so that battery life is amazing! A Xoom apparently can go 75 HOURS! Yes Hours with out a single charge *Wifi Model*. ICS will be out for public development within the next two months. So expect CM8 in November :3 My source is amazing, I just can't say anything that will lead it back to me. ICS is smooth, fast, and amazing! If you guys truly want to see Pics of ICS *Yes, Pictures* I'll upload them next week. That will be the next time I can get a hold of some ICS. I'll upload the Lockscreen, Browser, and About Screen. I just need help on knowing what to blur out so my friend don't get in trouble. I was considering doing a Nandroid backup and seeing what people what do with that, but as the wife explained. I'd go to Jail Xo. So hopefully you believe me. If not wait to have your mind blown next week Thank You
I hope you'll deliver what you just promised
I truly can, it's not that hard. I had been using Honeycomb for 4 months before the Xoom was released :3
Can't wait

yes, would love some screenies!
we dont want anyone to get in any trouble here... but..
if a /system/ dump was posted to some little known file hosting/sharing from an anonymous IP address... well, you know... leaks happen, etc.

That's right, leaks do happen. Happened with Windows...happened with 2 iPhones being "lost" in a bar (happened with the 4 and the new 5 coming out). We don't live in a perfect world. "Accidents" happen
Are the home screens and app drawer designs radically different? Sorry, I'm not familiar with the motoblur theme.

More battery life is the best news ever. Even if they didn't improve much on the features but gave tons more battery life, I'd be a happy camper.

I've had a galaxy s2 since may, and just bought a xoom 3g. The galaxy battery lasts a day. The xoom has lasted 4 days so far and still going. That's with gmail and exchange set to push, and on 3g. So 75 hours as stated by the op doesn't seem that great. Unless he means 75 hours continuous video playing?
WOW! I'm so excited about ICS!

People might have missed this but there is an important question in the OPs post quoted above.
OP: My suggestion is to look at the already leaked images from the older build and see if there is anything that seems strange in those areas. I don't know how subtle Google's watermarks are.

JB ROM issues

originally post by jmccw
Arrgghh!! I have fresh flashed the 19, 20 and 23 builds of this but keep getting random shutdowns when the phone is asleep. This happens when charging AND when the phone is not plugged in. I have tried fixing perms and repeatedly clearing cache but nothing helps so far.
The ROM/PORT is awesome, BTW, and I really want to make it work. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to try? I appreciate any help.
Thanks
Im having the same issue. The phone just randomly cuts off and I dont even realize until I go to use the phone. Is anybody else having this problem?
Oh and this is also my first post ever lol I couldn't ask this question on the dev forum because I was "not permitted" lol

I'm not sure what kernels are all out there for JB but I would recommend trying a different one. Also, are you underclocking/overclocking your cpu? If so you might want to play around with those settings. Personally, I use Juice Defender ultimate and configure my cpu settings that way but have heard nothing but good things about setcpu. Hope this helps!

Yea im not complaining or anything I greatly appreciate all the effort that these guys are putting in. The only reason that I even brought it up was because it seemed that it might be an isolated issue. There was only one other person that reported this problem. I was just wondering if I needed to tweak something in /system?....

Grab an Anker battery (if it says compatible with Thunderbolt you're golden) and never look back.
I had issues with random shutdowns on both ICS and JB...turned out my CPU's min voltage was set to something under than 200 hz...so you might want to check that out.
