[Q] HTC Desire w. cyanogenmod hangs at boot - General Topics

Hi!
I upgraded from Cyanogenmod7 to CM 7.01 using ROM Manager premium on my HTC Desire (GSM).
It asked me which cache's to clear, and I let it go with the default it suggested. The Dalvik cache
After the upgrade the phone booted fine, but where I usually have around 20Mb free on the phone, it was running very low at only 1.34Mb free on the phone.
I tried to clear the app cache, but that didn't help as there was no cache used.
So I tried to reboot the phone, and now it just hangs at the animation with the blue cyanogen android and won't start . I tried removing the SD card, but it still hangs.
Where do I go from here?

It's all sorted now.
I held down the volumekey while turning it on, and in the boot menu I found an option to do a 'factory reset'.
Thanks to Titanium Back it was all a question of restoring my apps, and I know have my phone looking and working exactly as it did before!

Splash Screen on loop

I rooted my phone (at a friend's house, I'm all Apple unfortunately) and all was well and good until I purchased Rom Manager and tried to download MIUI. Since then it goes through the MIUI United Worldwide splash screen infinitely. I went the rom manager route instead of manually installing in the hopes that i wouldn't fail. But here we are.
Pull the battery and hold power and volume down and boot into recovery from there and manually wipe everything and reinstall the ROM

Thank you for the speedy reply! as far as wiping everything, im in clockworkmod recovery v3.0.2.6. , should i wipe everything through this? I'm coming from the jailbroken iphone world so I am a tad new at this. Mostly just following steps right now.
all has been solved, thanks again. (if anyone is curious, wiping cache and data fixed it.)

[Q] Factory Reset Did Not Wipe Anyhing

I'm trying to remove apps that's on this phone (GT-S7500) because some of the apps always force close and not working. Firstly, I tried uninstall the apps one by one, all went good until I rebooted the device, all of the apps are back again. Second, went to privacy>erase everything including SD card content, device rebooted and went straight to recovery. It was weird because normally it will reboot itself straight to home screen. So I select the option factory reset/wipe data, after that wipe cache partition and reboot. Device does not reboot but turned off completely (weird again) Turned it back on, and only saw that none of the apps were removed. Even the wallpaper are still the same. Next thing I do is manually boot into recovery menu and factory reset again, still the same thing, (device turned off without rebooting itself, turned it back on and everything was still the same) after few tries again, I finally decided to flash a stock rom with ODIN. Flashing was successful ODIN shows PASS, waiting device reboot but it shut off completely again. turned it back on, but nothing changes. wallpaper are still the same and every single downloaded apps were still there. Went to settings> about device only to found that it wasn't the same rom that I've flashed earlier using ODIN.(flashed 2-3 times again, results still the same) Very confused right now, suspected that the internal SD card was corrupted/damaged. Does anyone experiencing such thing on your galaxy ace plus? searched on xda forums and found that this issue was also happening on few other devices. This is not my phone, just helping a customer. Thank You.
After flashing stock rom
Go to recovery (stock of course)
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Reboot

[Q] failed restore/flash bricked phone

the short story- my htc inspire is frozen on white htc startup screen and wont go anywhere.
the long story- i got my htc inspire 4g stock (used) beginning of this summer. it was almost perfect except some annoying apps and features. so i successfully rooted it using advanced ace hack kit. it was great. but the battery life sucked and so did the speed. so i decided to flash to new rom so i can overclock and undervolt. i then backed up my rooted stock rom onto my sd card. i then installed android revolution 7.3 and overclocked to 1.5ghz and undervolted -50. it was great now, battery life was way better and phone was faster. it was almost perfect except one issue- every once in a while, it would randomly just shut down and restart, then get stuck in a bootloop displaying htc white screen then the beats audio, then repeating endlessly until i pull the battery. that solves it until it happens again randomly (not that often but still annoying losing my data) i tried different settings in setcpu and daemon tools and same problem.
i then decided its time to revert to stock rom and try a new rom and see the difference and if i like it more, ill keep it. so i loaded recovery from rom manager (because my power button dont work) and i wiped to factory default and did all the steps of clearing the cache and the dalvik cache, etc it said it did it fine. i clicked install from zip and chose dirty unicorns rom that i found on this site for my phone.
it said it installed without any problems. cool, i clear caches again and reboot.
but this is the wack part: when it restarts, it still loaded android revolution... all the data on internal memory was gone from wiping it and my superuser was gone. (rom manager stayed) i thought that was weird. i tried a couple more times and same thing. and then i put the backup i made of my stock rom before i flashed anything onto my sdcard-> rom manager-> backup.
but when i went to rom manager-> backup, my backup wasnt there. i then went to manage backups and restore. it said no backups found. i then thought maybe it has to do with superuser gone? i plugged in my phone and loaded ace. i noticed it had a load stock rom option on it. awesome, i clicked that, chose first one (htc inspire at&t) and it started doing its thing. but it said it had a problem downloading some package or something? it said it connected to th site fine but kept coming up with that error and a prompt saying "do you want to continue[y/n]" and i type y hit enter and same error. i tried another one but same error. oh well. i went back to menu and chose option 1 for rooting it, it did its thing with no errors. rebooted my phone. except now, its on htc start screen and wont go anywhere. its just forever stuck there. i did figure out just now that since my power button dont work, i could load hboot by taking out battery, and holding volume down while sliding battery in. but it wont go up and down on the menu with the volume keys. since my power button dont work i cant select one anyways but i should still be able to go up or down right?
well thats what happened and i feel like a retard.. if anyone might know whats wrong please help
ok i solved the issue after constant reading. i had to reformat my sdcard to fat32 and put stock pre rooted rom since i still had s-off. then it was just load hboot and it loaded files from sd card automaticly (took a moment, i thought it wasnt going to work) but it said found file (only file on the card now) and then accepted install. now im back to stock pre rooted rom. im so happy i didnt completely ruin my phone <3
im sorry for wasting everyones time. i should have read more before posting, as the thread that helped me solve this was on this site.

[Q] Internal Storage Corrupt

I installed TWRP to install a different kernel.
It installed and offered to wipe Dalvik Cache, which I thought would be a good idea. It then seemed to get stuck doing this, so eventually I turned off and rebooted.
It rebooted fine, but the internal memory seems to be unreadable and Google Play seems to constantly crash.
I thought the quickest way to start again was to oem lock and unlock again. It then seemed to get stuck booting up.
I got back into TWRP and did a data reset, which is now allowing me to boot again, but I still have no Internal Storage and Google Play still FC's.
I'm currently trying the Nexus 5 Multi Tool to reset back to original state (flash back stock ROM)
It's got 30 minutes to go, downloading the ROM... so I thought I would ask if anyone had any ideas for me?
Thanks.

[Q] Stuck on Team Kang logo? Phone won't boot..

Hey! About two weeks ago I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S 4G and installed "Valhalla Final" Gingerbread 2.3.6. Everything has been great until today :crying:... I was talking on the phone and the battery went dead, I got home and charged it then tried to turn it back on. When I did it started to boot up and then got stuck on the "Team Kang" unicorn animation. I'm a noob and not sure what to do? I have tried removing the battery, etc. and still same result. HELP!! What should I do?? Thanks in advance...
Try doing a factory reset in recovery.
To get to recovery:
pull out your phone's battery
put the battery back in
hold BOTH volume keys and do NOT let go of them
Press the power button long enough for the phone to turn on
Once you are in recovery you can let go of the volume keys
What I ended up doing was going to recovery mode, wiping the cache and then flashed the same rom again.. Question is what would have made it do this to begin with? Is there a problem with this rom that im not aware of? After I did the above it now works fine other than having to go through and redo apps, etc..

There is no problem with the rom, if you wipe cache before upgrading. I usually wipe dalvik as well. Wipe factory if you are coming from a different rom.
I do the previous three for each rom I use, on any phone I own. I don't always trust that the developer wrote in the updater-script to attempt to wipe cache & dalvik when flashing.
