I tried the latest flash update with hardware acceleration for the new HC update and it seems better on hulu. I get no lag, when I used to before. 720p on YouTube is playable but not smooth. Anyway I wanted to give people a heads up and see if it boosts performance. I apologize if there was already a thread on this, I didn't see one. Also I am on calukins rom running clemsyns latest OC kernel.

I've recently Installed Netarchy Nexus - 1.3.4-cfs-2.3.4 (For stock 2.3.4 roms) on my Rooted Stock Nexus S i9020A running 2.3.4 and suddenly my phone refuses to load the voodoo sound driver.
Voodoo Control Plus say that My Nexus S doesn't run a kernel supporting extended sound controls. My phone Loads the voodoo video drivers just fine however. Voodoo Control Plus has SuperUser permissions, so I'm interested if anyone has any ideas regarding what could be causing the conflict with the sound driver. I read somewhere that widget locker can cause problems so I disabled it. I would have posted this question in the Netarchy forum, but apparently I don't have the required number of posts just yet, because I'm pretty self sufficient and relatively decent at hacking my phone most days.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Netarchy worked fine until I migrated to stock 2.3.4
Netarchy Nexus - 1.3.4-cfs-2.3.4 (For stock 2.3.4 roms) may simply not support Version 9 of the Voodoo Kernel Module just yet. It appears it was compiled with version 8. However, this still doesn't explain the module refusing to load at all from time to time.
Voodoo likes the stock Kernel for sound. Of course the stock Kernel doesn't support the video drivers.

Voodoo sound works fine in 1.3.4. Voodoo plus does not need to load a driver on my builds because the driver is already built in. If you are seeing the generic module load error, just hit continue and you should be fine. The bundled driver in voodoo plus only applies to kernels that dont have voodoo sound in them already.

You're correct, it's not the Beta Kernel that has the issue. The most recent update of Voodoo Plus causes a conflict that prevents the voodoo sound driver from loading period. You're current Beta Kernel comes with version 8 of the sound driver and the recently updated Voodoo Plus now comes with version 9, but apparently, during the boot process a conflict is occurring on my Nexus S i9020A Stock 2.3.4 between you're Kernel Driver and the Latest Voodoo Plus Kernel driver because neither version of the sound driver is being loaded. The video driver loads just fine.
To make sure this was the issue, I used Titanium Backup to restore a previous version of Voodoo Plus and sure enough, while I received the module message, I could indeed hit continue and verify that version 8 of the driver baked into your Beta Kernel had in fact loaded. I'm not sure if Supercurio is aware. I doubt he tests Voodoo Plus against the various versions of kernels out there. You may want to make note of the potential issue in you're release notes if more of these questions pop up from those that have upgraded Voodoo Plus
Do you have any plans to update the voodoo sound driver to version 9 in one of your beta builds or will you stick with version 8 until you release your next stable build? Version 9 has Direct Hardware Amplification (Hardware based Bass Boost) that Many devices will greatly benefit from sound wise.
Oh yeah, thanks for the great Kernel work. You're Kernels gives amazing battery life and Keep My Nexus S running like a champ. I haven't even bothered to overclock my device because everything's running so smoothly with your kernel.

Ok, an update of SU seems to now allow Version 9 of the sound driver to load using you're Beta Kernel. This is weird, but the desired result. An update of Voodoo Plus still breaks voodoo sound though.
so i just got my asus TF and when i saw the 3.1 leaked i immediately updated..
but now i wanna try to run the supposed stable 1.6 overlock kernal
did i jump the gun? or is there still a way to root my android device and get this accomplished?
Jumped the gun. No custom kernels are compatible with the 3.1 update yet since they'll need to kernel source for it.
While no kernel yet. You should have root with old firmware than update to 3.1 with the rooted 3.1 rom. Custom kernel for 3.1 probably in a week or two max.
I'm using 3.1 right and have no reason to actually overclock. Once it's a available i'll do so but it's so smooth that there is no need.

ye, 3.1 is much more silky smooth than 1.4G @ 3.0
Hmmm, the only thing now is no cifs included...
Did anyone get this working ready? Was wondering if I could stream 720p mkv's now
And is the sleep of death back? It was fixed for me with the netformer custom kernel..

[INFO] Cifs on leaked 3.1
Mixed reports of it working.
i have a rooted tf and i was just wondering what is the best stable/not buggy rom to flash onto my device
Quick reply:
1. If you're rooted go with Prime 1.5 great rom everything you need.
2. Wrong spot to post, if I were you report this post before you get flamed at by the "trolls".
well im a sorta noob lol dont get to pissed
There aren't really that many mods out yet since we don't have the source code. All the Rome now are just customized 3.1 roms. I'd say prime 1.5 is the best with magnus supreme and clemsyns roms being based off of them.
Read my sig,i think thats whats best.
prime 1.5 is a great ROM, but Clemsyn has OC kernel that I find to be awesome.

ok, stupidly i installed madaco rom v7 and i hate it is there a way to install prime over this?
I am using Revolver 0.2 and loving it so far! It is a fast ROM that just seems to work out-of-box. Wth other ROMS I have had issues that needed fixing after flashing the ROM but with Revolver things just seem to work out-of-box. Very happy with Revolver.
just installed my first custom rom and decided to go for the clemsys one
for me it just rocks, stable, fast and with the battery profiling in combination with pimpmycpu, this thing just flies when it needs to and powersaves when it doesn't
im with prime 1.6 its do 3300 on smartbench productive test no OC
games score is 2300
I went with Revolver 1.0.1 on top of a stock rooted 3.1 and I'm quite happy. Easy to do, worked the first time, OC'd and not too much mucked with. Just the way I like it.
Solution for 3.50 and Leaked Sensation XE working like a charm.
Hi Guys.I found solution for us to make 3.50 really working.
1.clear dalvik cache and do superwipe
2.flash rom and test it...if still having issues like vol up down etc..do same thing again. This maybe conflict between old files with new file.myself do 3 times.
3.If somebody having issues about missing music apk..go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1253447 and install htc beat mode.and reflash back rom.
4.and lastly..annoying lower benchmark...go to oc daemon or watever program you use..setcpu.....set ondemand to perfomance and test it with watever benchmarking application.after that set to on demand mode again and restart.i get more than sgs 2 benchmark after doing this
now everything will run smoothly.
I test it almost everything included palying backstab and asphalt 6.No more lag...No more glitch.
This is my own experimental and hope will help u guys
1.Wat i have now...becnhmarking more than sgs 2
2.Truly in setting,about phone,hardware information 1.5ghz qualcomm msm8660 dual core
3.More free ram..maintain 180-200 mb
4.more smoother
5.Camera much better without need any mod
I test using Revolution Hd 3.50 by mike and it work.maybe same also with other rom base on leaked 3.50 rom.Using faux kernel is the best now.with Revolution Hd 3.50 its already using latest version faux kernel.
Tq Mike And Faux And Everybody make this possible to us
Curious if anyone else is experiencing bad flash performance after upgrading to ICS? I've done the factory reset etc.. Still no improvement. To clarify, no improvement in my ability to stream from amazon VOD etc. Coming from prime with OC kernel where everything was smooth as butter - this is frustrating. I'm running on a first gen tft101..
Issue resolved
If you are experiencing similar issues with flash/video streaming do a full wipe and install Revolver 4 by Gnufabio | 4.1.0 Stable, the new NVIDIA drivers and guevor's latest kernel.. Revolver 4 combined with guevor's kernel is by far the fastest and most reliable ICS experience I've had - and I've tried all popular ROM's. I've had NO issues since upgrading and battery life is excellent.
Bye bye HC hello ICS!
Thank you Gnufabio and guevor for all your hard work!
Guevor's kernel on any of the ICS roms does the trick x)
