HTC TP2 Verizon to cricket - Touch Pro2 CDMA

Hi everyone! i already unlock my tp2 for install custom roms (i can see SPL-1.00 Olinex on the tricolour screen), everything looks fine, except that i want it activated to cricket, but the damn "initial programimg required" from verizon still there, whats the next step? or what do i need to flash it for cricket carrier

let me know if you still need help flashing it to cricket.

Touch pro 2 to Cricket
If CDMA Workshop was used to reconfigure settings on TP2 to Cricket Network, does it matter what Rom is used?

Will flashing an AT&T tilt with the HTC ROM unlock it from the network

I am curious if flashing my AT&T tilt with the HTC software will allow me to use a sim card from another carrier. Has anyone tried this?

Nope. Find something/someone/someway to SIM unlock phone. Not possible as of yet. ROM flashing will work only after you CID unlock your phone, which means you can flash different ROMs onto your phone than originally suppied.
Some post couple days ago talk about how to sim unlock already, just search for it and call the att number on there, it work for me.

haha, yeah, for some reason i never think to call up At&t for anything... i'm sure you can lie to your provider so they will give you the unlock code (at least until enough people use the same story verbatim to where they realize that it must be posted some discussion board as to how to get sim unlocked....)
I am still somewhat confused as to the unlocking aspect.
I know I can obtain the SIM unlock code for the Tilt from AT&T. Are you saying that it is still impossible to CID unlock the phone, once this has been done?

SIM unlocking and CID unlocking are two different things.
CID unlocking allows you to use OS ROMs from other variants of the same hardware. i.e. HTC TyTn II ROM on a Tilt. CID unlocking can be done easily with HardSPL.
SIM unlocking allows you to use SIMs other than your carrier's. Right now the only way to get a Tilt SIM-unlocked is to get an unlock code from AT&T, or to purchase an unlock code from someone else (who is probably just abusing an "insider" within AT&T to feed them unlock codes.). Flashing an alternative radio ROM can remove a SIM lock, but from a few posts I have read, it is going to be much more difficult/take much longer for our enterprising hackers to figure out how to flash an unsigned radio ROM and have it actually boot, apparently the radio bootloader now does an integrity/signing check against the ROM and will only boot signed carrier ROMs.
Well then I'm still going to call ATT tomorrow for the sim Unlock (heading to japan in a month) but, from what your saying does that mean i can go ahead and flash my phone using HardSPL to HTC stock? or do i need to have sim unlock first regardless what i do?
I understand it's encrypted. But what happens if you dump the radio rom from a tytnii and flash it onto a 8925?

Don't think it'll work. I think that the ROM has to be signed until the bootloader gets cracked. Not sure. If it worked, we would've heard about it and it would be in all the FAQs.
I wonder how it works though. Definitely am not knowledgeable enough about this yet, but upgrades have come out in the past for older phones. It wouldn't change the lock state though. Why is that? If there's a way to corrupt it and then flash back the original? Are there any signed radio roms out?
What exactly happens when you flash an unsigned one? Brick or just no radio?

Can you let me know how it goes with the call to AT&T? I'm going to HK in December and will call AT&T soon. I want to wait a little before calling since I just got the phone last week.
No worries. Tell them just that. You'll be off the phone within 5 minutes. No hassle at all compared to when I called to get my nokia 6682 unlocked a year ago. Just make sure you call international support

Unlocked phone afraid of locking back up

hello. new to the forum. new to phone tampering really. but got an unlocked At&t Tilt unlocked for T-Mobile. I used to have a T-Mobile Dash and upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5 and it was working great. Now wanna do that with my Tilt but am afraid will this cause it to lock back up and only work for AT&T again.
It most definately should not relock the device if you flash a new rom.
thanks bro

Verizon Phone on Tmobile network?

Hi everyone. A bit new to flashing roms but thanks to the very helpful guides I was able to flash the Energy rom onto my phone. I bought an unlocked Verizon Touch Pro 2 with GSM capabilities and I want to run it on the Tmobile network.
After flashing the Energy rom, do I have to change any settings to get my voicemail and texting to work? Will it automatically detect from the SIM? Or should I flash a Tmobile radio onto the phone?

DONT EVER FLASH A T-MOBILE RADIO...you will have a brick....
you will have to use the sim unlocker from htc-unlocks or get it unlocked by verizon global support.

[Q] sim unlock a rooted non-stock T-Mobile G3 to run on ATT

Like the question the asks, I have a rooted TMO G3 running custom roms and looking at moving over to ATT and trying to see if I need to ditch the root and custom roms and go back to stock condition before sim unlocking. I have posted same question my TMO G3 forum. Any and all help is appreciated.

You shouldn't have to you. My att D850 is sim unlocked and used on TMO. I still have to use ATT roms.
All you do is shut off the phone, put in a sim from another carrier and boot up. You should then get prompted to enter the unlocked code and walla.

thanks for the reply but since I have a t-mobile G3 and been running root and custom roms since the very first days, I am a little wary about doing this for going to ATT

I just unlocked my Sprint HTC U11

I am about to port this line over to at&t, is there anything special I need to do to get data working correctly when I put the new att sim in? I'm asking because I have heard of data issues when using the sprint u11 on at&t. Phone is sim unlocked with the stock sprint rom.
Nevermind, looks like its an att issue.
S-off and flash to US Unlocked firmware. That *may* help.
