I froze "my account" now it's gone - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hi,
I Froze most bloat on the g2x with TB but "My Account" wouldn't go away.
So I bought Bloat Freezer and froze it.
It too a little while and then I got this error on the screen

I couldn't make it go away and I had to pull the batter.
Now "My Account" and My Device are gone, I mean gone. I can't see then in Applications or TB or BF!
Now I don't really care if I ever see My Account again, but I'm concerned that I need to unfreeze to get gingerbread.
any ideas?
Cheers

Often times, after freezing the apps are no longer displayed in app drawer. If you thaw it, the app will show up again.

I froze my account with bloat freezer and had issues as well.. the same as your screenshot. I pulled battery to reset and i went back in it was still there only it showed as being frozen. there is a full list of apps in the dev section , maybe you can get it there.

But I can't see it in Titanium Backup or Bloat Freezer.
Am I correct in thinking it's called "My Account" or is it called something else? I've been looking at it too long I forgot the name
Cheers

Thanks c3plok, I didn't even see your reply before. I'm telling you my brain is fried and my eyes are crossed from staring at the phone

So I'm assuming this Kineto is the My Accounts app.
In root explorer in /system/apps I see Kineto.bfz and kineto.bfzo, two different sizes.
So BF did freeze it, but for some reason, it lost the info that it it did.

No prob. it was quite aggravating dealing with that. It is called My Account in Bloat Freezer, as far as root explorer i couldn't tell you. Im a real noob at this so i've been doing a lot of experimenting. I did that several times ,always with the same result. end up pulling the batt to reboot. Always there and froze though, never gone.

AFAIK, Kineto is WiFi calling. Something like com.nuance.somethingrather is MyAccount.

You can DL My Account from the market.

You can just rename Kineto.* to Kineto.apk, which ever file with bigger size.

Same scenario here. I had to pull the battery... I was pretty freaked. After restarting it was still there so I went to Task Killer and Killed it. I immediately went to Bloat Freezer and I was able to Freeze it without a problem.
Since then I kill the app before I try to freeze it just in case.

so do I need to worry about this app being missing for when gingerbread gets OTA? I never use it and don't want it, I just read that the phone needs to be like stock when the update comes down otherwise it won't update...

Wow, that would be annoying, did you try adfree?
You've installed something that's doing that. I had something similar myself but was lucky enough to identify the culprit (it was an MP3 downloader).
You can either post your complete app list here and hope someone recognises the app that's causing it, or you can factory reset and rebuild your phone app-by-app.
Another idea would be to round up any suspect apps (one's not installed from the market or ones that do "naughty things") and freeze them with Titanium Backup. If the problem goes away then you know you've narrowed it down.
Got rid of it.
Read another similar post that suggested it was Air Push. Downloaded Air Push Detector and it identified Mechanical gear live wall paper. Uninstalled it so its gone now. Shame cos I liked the wall paper.
I thought though that it would allow me to keep it but disable the spam.
Speaking of, I'm really concerned about some of the permissions that may invade my privacy. For example, I wonder if an app that requires access to my contact list is just accessing it to provide the service it is designed for or if it is sending that info back to the designer or marketing companies for the purposes of information gathering or further advertising.
Is there any way I can block these permissions on a grand scale without individually setting them with 'Permissions' app, which of course only works on a rooted unit. My TAB is rooted but my SGS2 is not and won't be till its out of warranty.
As an example:
An app called Wi-Fi Finder has a permission to 'directly call phone numbers'. I mean WTF. Firstly why does it need this permission and secondly WTF?
What possible reason could this app have to do this and who would it call and whats the privacy repurcussions for me?

Seems that requies the phone to be rooted
Addons Detector should find the culprit.
You're not going to be able to handle permissions at all if you're not rooted. The only apps I've seen for handling permissions do it on an app-by-app basis. I've not heard of anything that do it at a system-wide level. Obviously doing it at the system level would cause problems for the times when apps do legitimately need permissions you've blocked, but you're the user - that's your choice.
Maybe it's time to learn to dev
There are a few apps in the market that you can get to block these. I've still noticed the odd spam msg will get through though.
I downloaded a zombie game (cant remember which one) and i started getting the same spam messages frequently.. Just look back to any games you previously downloaded right before this started happening and delete it

Go Keyboard
I found out who is using the Green Smiley Face ad notification on the progress bar. Its from Go Dev Team. They have an app for keyboards. Go Keyboards. If you have it, then that's the ass app.
Sucks cause I like their work but hates ads enough to delete it. I sent them a long message about killing it for me and will warn who is pushing ads.

This.
I am going to get supernote or whatever.
I know the very FIRST app I will mess with will be Google Music to get my entire collection downloaded for offline use.
The first thing I do is read the right threads
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764480
That'll cover apps to try out. Theres exsisting threads about how to root, which is required for TB.
but to answer your question, the first thing i do, after re-installing all of my apps of course, is restore the data to my apps.
and i believe you need to be Rooted to get full use out of Titanium backup. But the Infinity comes with an that lets you back up the data and the apps.
head over to the Theme forum for answers to the best apps.
If you choose to restore data in addition to apps, be sure to take it slow. Restoring data is a common way of causing seemingly unrelated problems without realizing it.

i usually restore data based on the app. For example, NoteEverything has a backup and restore function. I use the built in restore function (if available) of my apps to do any restoring. Back when i had my DX, i used titanium to restore data. Its been a long time since i did a full data restore.
setup wireless silly
:fingers-crossed:
First think would be to un-box it and if you are in a mood, you can record the unboxing and post it on youtube
haha i took pictures of it, set up wifi and downloaded chrome so i dont ever have to use stock browser. now im trying to get the apps from my htc one x to go into this one. is it possible to copy the backups of apps on my phone into the storage of tablet ? and the screen jets out very little but why would i wait a week for amazon to receive it, then to ship out yet another one , not knowing if it will be the same or not .
i then went to best buy about 10 minutes ago and bought a tf201 dock. its a LOT of purple lol. whoever made the thread saying it isnt, is blind. if you have just 1 window it does randomly turn into aluminum gray but wow in like no light the thing is all 7 shades of purple ;] haha i can see that bothering a businessman enough to make him return it but im a hispter and like the color difference so ill keep it. when you guys show people the tablet pretend its a net book, then tear the screen right off and watch their faces DROP xD
Exactly what I do. I go through and restore app+data only on things that need it. Games, color note, so on. I learned the hard way when I couldn't access part of the settings after flashing. Turned out that I was restoring fonts and **** that had no business being restored. Stupid noob mistakes.

[Q] Bad battery life, phone always awake, ServiceDialingNumbers.

Hello!
My RAZR HD is having bad battery life. I have to charge it everyday!
I think the culprit might be this com.motorola.ServiceDialingNumbers. My guess is that it is not letting the phone sleep. Check it out:

What can I do about it?
Hi,
Froze the app with Titanium Backup and the battery seems normal now. The phone can finally sleep. Did anyone else notice this problem?
I'm running Jellybean 4.1.2. The stock rom was a Claro one, I had some problems upgrading to JB, used matt's tool to restore to 4.0.4, flashed BR Retail rom, then upgraded.
I'd love to know if that's a bug
Seeing your status bar.. i think you need to clear up your memory and reduce syncing cycle for facebook, gmail and other services that you have.
No need for clearing up the memory. I did a factory reset 2 days ago. I also use Facebook constantly
Sent from my RAZR HD using xda app-developers app
So, I followed your suggestion. I also restored the service numbers app and cleansed app data. It's better now. The phone is deep sleeping, consuming only 1% overnight and I'm getting 3h of display on time with 35% battery remaining. Will post screenshots later.

Thanks a lot man!!!
I'm having the same problem!
Is there any other way to freeze ou stop this program without root?
I forgot to use the root keeper when I upgraded....
At least I now know the problem...
Regards!
Don't think so. I also figured that the Facebook app was battery hungry. Froze that too, now I'm using friendcaster
You can try to restore 4.0.4, root and upgrade keeping root, at your own risk of course.

I've just downgraded it. Now I gonna root.
But if I freeze the ServiceDialingNumbers, the the battery cicle remains good as ICS?
And, freezing this service the phone still perfectly works?
Sorry the many questions, but is that because I only will upgrade again if the battery came to your normal consume.
Thanks a lot!

The phone works if you freeze ServiceDialingNumbers, It just won't have the Service Dialing Numbers group in your phonebook
Later, I restored the ServiceDialingNumbers app and then cleaned it's app data from the Android Applications menu and the problem went away - no more battery draining from SDN.
After fixing SDN, freezing Facebook and setting update interval to 4 hours in most apps, the battery is better than ever. Right now, 2h 32m running, mostly idle, and still got 98% battery.
Passing just to say thanks again!
I'm already in 4.1.2 again, but this time with root.
I've frozen the Service Dialing Numbers, and my battery is doing really great!
After I will try to restore and clear cache to see whats gonna happen!
Thanks a lot man!
See ya!
Solved
I just clear data of com.motorola.ServiceDialingNumbers and restart. Phone now goes to deep sleep. Thank you man! Good call.
Too soon to say. Later the phone back to keep awake all the time.
Them I block the app with the Gemini App Manager. And now phone's doing good.

Do you know if there's any free app that can freeze this service? I'd hate to pay to implement a workaround to a bug by myself! Seems that Titanim and Gemini both require payment.

[Q] No Task Manager?

Maybe i'm blind but can't find any type of HTC task manager on this device? Had it on stock ATT HTC One X+ device. I'm new to Verizon, switched specifically for this device and better deal with service so this is all new to me here.
Just seems odd zero task manager installed at all. Never had to use a third party, any recommendations? Thanks
I see in Settings, App manager, you can scroll right to Running apps and manually tap and stop. Anyway to have these apps NOT become active after a reboot? I'm spoiled and use to root and greenify and what not. Never use apps like Verizon Cloud, Verizon messages, NFL, etc.
Facebook app uses 48mb just for push services? Already have half the ram used up and only using mandatory apps running except Facebook, Messenger, GSam Battery Monitor, AppLock, Dropbox (all except Facebook and Messenger only use maybe 5-10mb each).
Closest I can find is by pressing the recent apps button and clicking the four square icon in the top right. That's typically the most we'll get w/o root apps

True. I mainly like to hold off as long as I can until I have to root. As much as I like tinkering with Android stuff I always have that time period where I'm not willing to mess with my new$600 phone. After that period I just go flash happy.

Damn well disabling all Verizon bloatware and Amazon crap did something. I have gallery lock lite to hide personal pics/vids from the stock gallery app. I have the pics and vids saved on external sd card from previous device so these are not saved on internal.
Well now they are all visible again in stock gallery app like I never hid them. They also show inside the gallery lock app.
I had vaulty app before which worked great but on this device does not hide stuff. Not sure if it's a kit Kat 4.4.2 thing or what? Seems odd after reboot they are all visible again in gallery app though. Damnit. More reason to root! Can't even have private photos on my sd card, WTH?

[Q] security: chronologically keep track of all my apk installs

I recently received another scammish text which led me to suspect an app or apk I installed was to blame (possibly). Is there a way to chronologically see things I've installed on my phone. Stock Downloads app won't work because if I deleted the apk or installed it in a different way it won't show. There should be a way to see all of the things you've installed non market, apks, modules, or whatever. To be able to trace back and find a culprit. Kinda like a criminal rap sheet.
Your best bet is TITANIUM BACKUP !!! Sort all apps by date installed it will give you time installed !!!

Please elaborate....
Haven't heard of such a thing. Sorry.
Titanium can tell you app installs, even play store kinda keeps track. Initial install order anyway.
But to track apps, mods, alterations...anything? Nope. And flashing in recovery would not be trackable inside the O/S anyway.
---------- Post added at 11:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:06 AM ----------
Basically, if there isn't some kind of a thing on the play store....then it doesn't exist.
Scam texts are pretty common in some countries. I don't think it has anything to do with an app you installed unless you gave Snapchat your phone number as they got hacked a while back.
No snap chat for me. I thought of this idea for logs of this stuff before. There's got to be a way!

If you made an app to log package installs it would be a waste of time + have to be running on your device all the time. It'll also hardly be of any use, since most people aren't installing like 20 apps a day, every day. Just write it down if you really need to LOL.
For packages you currently have installed via Play or .apk installation you could go into /data/app and look at the dates on the .apk files. If you flashed something in recovery it'll show up as August 1 1970 or August 1 2008 or whatever generic date. As said previously, Titanium Backup uses this if you sort by date lol.
Edit, example (most mine are 25 July since I restored them through Titanium Backup):
