Just rooted by Transformer with latest root method. Everything works and I have root.
Also flashed CWM from the guide.
Problem though: I can't boot into Clockwork Recovery. I've tried
Code:
# reboot recovery
no joy.
How do you get into it? Thanks.
power + vol down, then press vol up when prompted to do so.

Awesome for these Roms [Ti-X and Prime] do you have to do a full wipe, or do you just Flash them over your existing install?
I flashed prime (it has the latest OTA) without a wipe and it worked fine.

What about clearing Cache/Dalvik Cache like you have to on phones?
Nope. None of that so far.

Hi,
Yesterday I had a problem with my defy. It powered off out of nothing and when I powered it on again the only thing I saw was the bootloader saying my FW is corrupt. I had 2init but that was also broken. With RSD I flashed a new SBF but when it's done it gets stuck in a bootloop. I tried several SBF's but they al go into bootloop! Can somebody help me out?

Wipe data + cache in stock recovery. Hold volume - + power to get in stock recovery. After that press volume + and - at the same time. Then flash a SBF.

I completely forgot to do that all the time! Thank you! The bootloop was killing me.

Phone: Rogers i896
I have been through Multiple stock Roms of 2.1, 2.2, 2.3
Lets take a simple example of 2.1 where I flash into CWM, install CM7 but I am stuck in install loop, all it does is tries to install, shows me flashing screen which is way too quick for me to read and but I have managed to read some lines and they probably say
E: Cannot find or Cannot update
No Such file or Directory
Like I said, since last 3 days - whatever I do I am stuck in that. I have tried formatting internal SD Card, tried to install from External SD Card but no go
Boot into cwm, factory reset, install from sd card. If you boot loop, repeat procedure again.

Sometimes you have to hold the recovery buttons down for a long while, at least 4 or 5 flashes of the i896 page. This worked for me a few times (Rogers i896). But the only thing I found that worked when I got stuck in boot loops was flashing stock Froyo with Heimdall. Can you boot into download mode?

Pull the battery, reinsert battery, then with phone off, press volume up + volume down + power. Hold those buttons until you see the first boot screen. Hold it about 5 seconds, then release.
OK, so I went to recovery mode - deleted factory/clean - and tried with MIUI - that worked?? can I install CM 7 on top of MIUI?

That's good to hear. MIUI is a very good ROM and is based on CM7 so there should be no problem flashing CM7.1 from MIUI (I do it all the time). Go into ROM manager and flash CWM to 3.x before flashing CM though.
Sweet, that worked too. I now have CM7 - would it better to CWM and factory reset now? so everything is clean or not recommended and/or doesnt matter?
I have used MIUI - few drawbacks, some apps dont work + screenshot is not as simple as CM7

Did you do the wipes in CWM before you installed the zip? If so I wouldn't worry about it if not a reset doesn't hurt.
Copy Rom to sdcard.
Go to download mode (Vol- + Vol+ + USB plug PC)
Use odin and flash to stock JF6
Feed talon 1.2 --> CWM --> factory reset --> install zip file -> choose zip file --> new rom
I followed the steps to instal CWM on the Galaxy Note 10.1 using Odin v1.85. Everything went fine and it said "Pass" and everything, but whenever I press power button and Volume-Up together, then release Volume-Up when the logo comes up, I don't go to CWM, I just go to the Android logo and get options to:
1. Reboot System now
2. apply update from external storage
3. wide data/factory reset
4. wipe cache partition
5. apply update from cache
What went wrong? where is CWM?
Thanks

Did you UNcheck Reboot in ODIN? If the tab reboots the 3e (stock recovery) overwrites any custom recovery installed. Install CWM before rebooting. That worked for me.

You're welcome. Happy to help!
A few months ago I rooted my phone and installed Rashed97's CM10 based rom.
This was fine for a day or two until I noticed rapid battery drain (losing %20 in a couple minutes). I was overclocking prior to this, but I did not exceed 729mhz with smartass-v2 governor (and surely any overclocking settings are lost when flashing a new rom?).
So once the battery fully drained, it went in to a boot loop.
I have tried different recoveries(All flashed fine), and different roms, but I always get a boot loop.
Some recoveries I have used:
CWM v6
CWM v5
TWRP
Stock
Some Roms I have tried flashing (all resulted in bootloops)
ICySNAP v1.6 FINAL
LG Optimus One Family CM10 - Build 6 and 7
NightlyFourE ICS 5.1 REMAKE
Stock v10 bb
Stock v20 bb
Some roms finished the boot and let me use the phone, however this only lasted a few seconds and did not happen again.
I am on the verge of throwing the phone out as I am so frustrated by this.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Try AmonRa recovery - very stable. Wipe ALL options listed ( wipe again just for confirmation ) EXCEPT your sd card. Flash a rom and check.

Tried that and got the same results.
Just tried flashing a stock rom via lgmdp, gets all the way to playing the android boot sound before restarting.
Is it possible that I have permanently bricked my phone?....

Going in to recovery does not stop the bootloop.
I don't know if this will work or not, but a Factory Reset is done by holding "Power+Vol Up+Vol Down" for 10 seconds. Power off the device first.

Holding "Power+Vol Up+Vol Down" for 10 seconds just makes it go into the stock recovery.
A triangle with an exclamation mark.

The only thing I can recommend is to try installing a recovery in a way that you haven't tried yet, maybe? If you can boot in to fastboot mode, check my signature for a link for Android Flash Recovery. It may be able to restore your recovery.
In recovery choose 'wipe data/factory reset' option and reboot
Like the title says, I recently flashed CWM recovery with odin to my tab 2, after reboot, it stuck on the first thing it displays and nothing works.
Power button = device logo(?) loop
Power button + Vol. Up = nothing
Power button + Vol. Down = nothing
The tab run on stock firmware with root access. Got the file from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722304

I've booted into CWM (thanks to you for telling me), but is there any way to access my data from pc?
I just read the instructions and forgot to do a backup.

You can copy your data from your internal storage to the external sd without pc. Download the Aroma File Manager from here https://www.google.gr/url?sa=t&sour...ggaMAA&usg=AFQjCNEH8YsLeZ9hUCaOmQXRhJ2Yh2eYCA
boot in cwm and install it. Don't worry, it will not install anything, it will just open a file manager.

[UPDATE] I've flashed the ROM and it's up and running now. The issue now is most of the apps can't start/keep crashing.
Maybe because I didn't wipe the data. Thoughts?

You absolutely need to wipe the data and cache and dalvik cache. If you don't do that when flashing a rom you will probably have such or worse problems. (Before flashing you should also wipe system)

you should install twrp recovery and not cwm. cwm is not up to date. for the latest roms you need the latest common twrp
