No Japanese character support? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I have several Japanese songs that appear fine on every other device I own, but not on my G2x. Instead of the Japanese characters showing up, I get question marks instead. Is it a limitation with stock Android player, or is it something else?

I think it's a tag problem.
Try to convert to Unicode. I used to have problem with Trad Chinese tag until I changed to Unicode (UTF-8).

[Q] youtube bug

hi, i've an optimus 7 E900, if i set the region in Italian I can not see youtube videos on a web page, but if i set the region in English (United States) the plugin works correctly.
so, I can change any registry key to resolve the problem?
sorry for bad english, i'm italian
Yeah i aske the support guys they said there was no plan for an app update of the youtube app yet... But they said they reported the bug. And Ill ask in a few weeks what the status is. It should be peanuts to fix it for MS but now its just very sloppy, and they should not work like this if they want Nokia to do well, they should test the phones and apps on all languages and regions.
But just wait and see they will take care of it Im sure
If ur phone is dev unlocked maybe try the HTC YouTube app

this nt change a thing for embedded youtube vids... As of now there are only watchable when region formatting is set to en-us... M.youtube.com does work, just the embedded vids dont.
I'm in the US and i still can't get the youtube app to work on embedded videos.
Youtube embedded doesn't work for me either on ATT with my surround pre and post nodo.
Embedded Youtube works for me on the default IE. Everything, except system locale, needs to be set to English US through the settings. Then a restart is needed.
This is very annoying.

[Q] [BUG] Special characters in sms makes it more expensive??

Hi guys.
Im from Portugal and we use special characters when writing like "à ã é" etc..usually we can use 160 characters per sms but for some reason if we use those special characters some bug happens that reduces characters to 60 per sms!!(or something like that). That almost triples the cost of the message. Now wtf is this? How can google let this happen? Is there a way around it?i tried gosms but it does not have an option to disable special characters. My girlfriend has a galaxy S2 and it is on stock rom modified by Vodafone Portugal and she can use those special characters and the bug does not happen. So i assume that vodafone has changed something. I am on 4.0.4 (not official, i flashed it from the nexus s android development)
Any help?
I'm currently on my G2(gingerbread) and just tried this. They all still count as one character. Never noticed this on my nexus though. If you don't get a response by the time I get home, I can check from the nexus to be sure

It's not a bug. It's the way the characters are being "translated".

I am using the modified mms apk from our nexus s section but what the app does is use "e" instead of "é". It sucks that i cant write correctly. On my girlfriends phone(stock, as mentioned earlier on first post) she can use special characters normally. Isnt there a way to keep using special characters instead of them being converted to normal characters?

[Q] Special characters in Music as Chinese Characters

I'm back to my stock ROM on my Samsung Galaxy Ace S5230D running Android 2.3.4. One problem I always had is that on all my French music the ID3 tags are broken. Instead of showing, for example François Pérusse I get something like Fran漢ois P隸russe.
I've tried using an app called ID3Fixer but I cannot get it to fix the tags themselves, only the Android database. Given that I have a lot, it's a long process I have to do everytime I try a ROM or reset to factory settings.
I've also tried using iTunes, Easytag, eags on!, Windows Media Player and Foobar 2000 to redo my tags but it doesn't change anything even when I delete completely the tags and rewrite them.
Does any one know how I can solve this?
Thank you!

If there's an app for that, I doubt I'm the only one!

offline language

Hello,
I have a big problem and you are the last to which I address myself.
If you can not help me, no one can!
I use the Nexus S as a phone in the car.
I have a speech control (AIVC is the application). This also supports offline language (for clock, phone calls, etc. all take place directly on the device).
I have tried 5 different Rome already determined.
None supports offline languages (sorry, I do not know the English term). But it is a component of Android since version 4.1.
Is there a possibility to install it later?
As a zip through recovery?
I'm desperate.
Please give me a positive response.
Greetings from Germany.
Andreas
it is still possible to install everything.why not this?
I would like to just use my phone in the car without touching it

It's an app issue, it's not that it wouldn't work, if it would actually bring you to downloads instead of settings..

[Completed] Can't type Kanji in Japanese since update to 4.4.4

Hi everyone
I'm using Moto G stock device.
Recently I updated to stock 4.4.4 and since I can't type Kanji in Japanese.
Basically I am using the iWnn IME to pick the Japanese stock keyboard and then it lets me type in Hiragana but I can't change what I typed to Kanji. ( by pressing the Space key).
I also noticed that when I touch a letter while in Japanese keyboard then the popup letter isn't in Blue like it used to(and how its like when I type in English), it's now gray instead...
I tried all the settings in the keyboard screen(disabling an reenabling , none worked, tried searching Google but couldn't find any reference to this problem...
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks.
Well I found a "sort of" a solution , to download and use Google Japanese input from the app store... It works but its kinda " unnerving" that it says when you first use it that it can send everything you type including passwords to Google... WTF?
But then again I don't use it that much anyway definitely not for passwords and the such.

Hi!
Most keyboards have strange permissions. I can only suggest you try different ones. And I wouldn't be too concerned about the privacy aspect....its the same with MANY apps.
However, if you want to ask why its not working as it did before, you can try asking in the Moto G Q&A section....here...

Good luck!
