Hey, it may seem weird, but I was wondering if there was anyway to put windows phone 7 on the htc inspire. I wanted to get a windows 7 phone, but all the ones from AT&T suck, so I just chose this one. I like it, but it would be nice to see how this would work on it. Thanks!
How about you search first....

this answered absolutely nothing.
and i like how everyone talks about how stupid it is to want wp7 or other OS's on an android phone...or that we should just go buy a wp7 phone if we want that. Yet when people bring up the HD2, it is the coolest phone in the world because of its 'hackability' and the fact it can run most any OS, including wp7.

Thank you for the link, I appreciate it, but unfortunately it doesn't say how to do so.
I was browsing a bit more and I noticed that the HTC desire and inspire are basically the same,so i was wondering if maybe anyone has made it for the desire.
I said to search so you can see there's (currently) no way to do this. So instead of creating a new thread, you could've posted in one of the existing threads to ask your lovely question. If there was a way, don't you think the existing threads would include the "how to"?

I agree, I remember reading that post and thinking the same thing. Phones that have the ability to boot multiple operating systems are lauded for how awesome they are, yet until it is discovered how the nay sayers drag on about how stupid that is.
I remember having an iPhone, and when they were trying to get Android to boot on it there were these huge posts about how stupid that was and why would you ever want to boot crappy Android on the holy phone...then as soon as it was booting Android people were falling over themselves to dust off the old 3G and fire up Android, then run around showing everyone how cool it was that they could dual boot.
If someone gets WP7 to boot on the Inspire, I'd love to give it a whirl. Hell, I'd even boot WM6.5 with Sense if it was possible. It just great fun.

That's the point. It was to point out this exact question had been asked fairly recently and the consensus was you can't install WP7 yet. The HD2 and Inspire/Desire HD are fairly significantly different pieces of hardware, saying the HD2 can do something why can't the Inspire is comparing apples to oranges. Not to mention, there are several other threads regarding WP7 on the Desire HD and the answers are all pretty much "no" or "not yet".
EDIT:
I never said it was stupid not to have it on the Inspire, I simply gave you the tools to come to your own conclusion that it's not currently possible.

ohhh so since they are different hardware it won't work!! right
how about when capy got the sensation rom ported to the DHD, and everyone said it wouldn't work on the HD2??? Look at that, it is booted and at the same point as the DHD rom is.
Yup, the hardware is obviously completely different...they are completely different phones. That doesn't mean wp7 will never boot on a dhd. Just takes someone with the know-how to go through with the port. ATM, i don't know of anyone even trying, but i sure wish someone would!!

Arrested and raped. They're probably just mad because it was my first post here and they thought I was a typical annoying new user. But what they don't realize is that theres also another purpose of making the thread, more threads = more demand. Someone with the knowledge might see the demand in doing so and would therefore be more interested to do it. None of the threads were on the front of the page so I don't see why it's such a big deal.

real nice attitude for a senior member...some of you need to check your attitudes at the door. All he did was ask a simple question. scoot over to the rules section and familiarize yourself with the rules. (pay close attention to the word respect) you are lacking it here. There are several people here on XDA with poor attitudes. If you don't have the patience to guide, and help others, then don't respond. Some people have a difficult time navigating the site. I've been seeing more and more of this type of treatment by senior members and it's ridiculous.
.3 Flaming: XDA was founded as a group of people sharing information about certain mobile phones. Sharing does not involve virtual yelling (flaming) it does involve working together to solve problems in an environment of mutual respect and understanding. Losing your temper and flaming another member, or group of members, is not acceptable behavior.

Wonderful that you took the time to write this novel.
Part of the rules is not to post multiple threads asking the same question, like the op did. He was given an answer in his 1st thread that asked the same question. So someone else needs to chill out. I always help other members when I can and others appreciate my help. I am not here to argue with anyone. Just pointed out in my other post that its been discussed and this was unnecessary. Have a nice day!

Sorry if you are that sensitive. Seriously... Move on.
The only way you MIGHT see this happen is if wp7 was released on a device with the exact same hardware as an android device.
Since the important parts of wp7 are closed source it is unlikely anyone with the ability will dedicate themselves to such a task. Much less deal with the legal consequences if they did it.
So no it isn't going to happen.

You can't yet, it's not like WM. I have noticed that some apps used the SD card for storage and some do not. So in part it seems there may be things that the developers could do to relieve some of the stress on the system storage.

Should be "banned"? Really? While I agree most answers can be found with a simple search, that kind of hostility and elitisim is just sort of thing that makes it hard for others to learn. If it bothers you so badly IGNORE the post. It's not your responsibility or right to chastise others who are simply trying to learn. Keep in mind this is a new platform and device and it is only natural that new members will be drawn to these boards. Xda is a resource and community for all.
Remember you were a "noob" yourself once.

I'm struggling trying to learn java and linux on my own because of that exact attitude. So unless the person is being a jerk about looking for an answer, I've seen some that have, then there's no call to elevate hostility.
While banning people is a little harsh it is frustrating to see new post every day about the same thing. You can only be polite to so many people before your patience wears thin.
I don't understand what the big deal is honestly with some of you people on here that talk to new people like that. It is a moderator's job to deal with multiple threads not you. Personally if I see a question that has been addressed already it doesn't bother me, I just try and help anyone who needs it. If it bothers you that much then you should keep your opinions to yourself as the person you talk down to may be a leading member on here someday and contribute greatly to the forum. Negativity does nothing but hurt the forum and draw people away from it.

The mods here annoy me, tbqh (even though I've never actually seen one). They combine every single thread in existence. The battery thread was really about 5 different threads, and should have been left as 5 different threads as they each brought up different points, but nope! Some mod decided they should be one. I just skip the entire thread then, not worth fighting through 9 pages of completely different topic material.

It isn't arguing if you are providing constructive feedback. Approach the moderators for this section and ask them why they moved it and tell them why you think it shouldn't have been moved. It is very simple.
Making comments about them in a thread will get you no where and won't help the situation. I know you were just trying to speak your mind but sometimes it is best to bite your tongue and try to speak your mind to the higher ups and not the simple user.
It seems lately there has been alot of negativity towards people asking questions. There have been far too many replies to questions with people complaining about the question, and the complaint takes longer to post than the answer. If you don't want to answer someones question, don't open the thread!! This is supposed to be a friendly, helpful community. There will always be different levels of experience. There is not 1 person on this forum that has never experienced the panic factor when they thought they messed up their phone. Let's keep that in mind when someone asks a question without doing an extensive search first.
PS- You are not the phone police, who are you to say what someone should and shouldn't do with their phone?
Because at least 50% of posts asking for help have been answered multiple times... in multiple threads... by multiple people.
It gets annoying answering questions for people who really shouldn't be rooting phones to begin with... or who don't take time to do any research. Instead of taking the time to learn and read.
There was an excellent article the other day on android central... about rooting not always being the answer. I think alot of people should read it.
http://m.androidcentral.com/sometimes-root-isn’t-answer
You don't need to root to enjoy android. And not everyone is. But alot of people have no idea what they are getting into... then come here and expect it to be fixed because they didn't research.
Xda is a very helpful community... but everyone gets a little tired sometimes of answering the same questions.

Well yes that's true and all but the OP has a point when he said everyone has that panic attack and doesnt bother looking before posting I mean seriously when you think your really screwed over and may have just wasted $400 I know now I'd probably look first but when I first started out with my good ol G1 I flipped **** man! Its still bricked, sitting in a shelf somewhere. But I became more experienced as I moved from MT3G to MT4G so yea noobs to forums will always be an issue here I mean really in what forum aren't they? But its better to be supportive than criticize the new Guy with a broken phone by saying 'go look in this thread or this or this or this' I mean it just makes em feel bad. This is hypocritical since I know I have a few posts criticizing noons on here for posting but whatever it happens.

I agree with people generally needing to read up on as much as they can, especially when they're starting with android and/or rooting, but I will say there's something nice about having a chat about your particular situation. Reading an old thread often has useful information, but I could definitely see how a poster might need/want more specific, personalized advice that meets whatever issue they're having head-on. And often, I know I've been researching a particular issue, will find old threads on it, but still need additional clarification.
Obviously, people should be able to help themselves as much as possible - but in the end, that's why this is a forum, and not a tech blog, so that people CAN have discourse about common areas of interest and, hopefully, help one another out.

and you you keep on going and ignore the blatant warnings and crash and burn you shouldn't come here crying that you jacked something. On the same note we did not force you to do anything to your phone. No one from XDA held a Glock 19 and uttered the words " ROOT YOUR MUTHA EFFING PHONE OR WE KILL YOU".... you chose to do it willingly. And you should be man enough to say well i screwed my phone and i need to fix it.
9/10 people here will answer the question at hand. regardless of its "how do i root my phone", "how do i flash an image" or what ever else have you. but it someone has a low post count we will absolutely throw warnings out there. Android devices are mini Linux Computers. Now i do not claim to be a *UNIX guru, nor do i claim to be an Android guru, but i've seen enough people to brick their phones do routine things to know better......
I joined XDA because i was tired of the drama on Android Central and Cracberry's Android section. I wanted to find a good group of guys with similar interest, with similar phones and the exact same motto.
Someone once helped me with Android, and i feel i need to do the same.

and i found XDA, i lurked for a while and thought this a good place to be....
just because you see "negative comments" doesn't mean we don't have the best intent in our hearts. We just understand what can come with things are done incorrectly.
And to finish up to answer your question "where is the love", sometimes the best love one can show is tough love, it might not appear to be there now, but down the road.... well hind sight is always 20/20.
I've struggled conceptually countless times on these forums and people have been gracious enough to help me out, but the couple of times I thought I might have actually messed up my phone the first thought that entered my head wasn't "OH SH!T, let me write an incoherent post in the first forum i see and wait for my savior," it was "you idiot, you read about this possibility and now you have a worthless piece of electronics, maybe next time you won't be so stupid." I then researched my issue and, luckily, found a solution. You can learn how to do ANYTHING on the internet these days, that's the beauty of global communication. I just think most people get frustrated when someone asks another to take time out of their day to assist them when it is clear by their post that they didn't even take the time to help themselves, you know?
No one here has a problem with helping someone out; that is clear by sheer number of question posts that get answered daily- especially when people follow the forum guidelines and at least attempt to present their issue with as much detail as possible. It's the "SOMEONE HELP ME CLOCKWORK BROKE MY PHONE" posted in the development section that cause more trouble than anything.
Just like there were many threads complaining about people not answering questions or being hostile to newbs.
Here's the very basic explanation on how to not make an ass out of yourself and save us all from answering the same thing over and over again:
1. Read BEFORE you do something
2. Read and UNDERSTAND what you're about to do, again, BEFORE you do it.
3. If anything goes wrong - take a step back to think what you did, have a smoke/drink/whatever you do and relax. Search for an answer on similar situation, bet you money it has been answered before. If all fails, write up well-organized, informative post with all info (what you had, what you did and what happened) and be patient. 5 threads within 2 hrs will not get you any farther.
Good luck to all.
People dont mind helping or answering questions its just that no one honestly reads before posting. 9 out of 10 questions have answers within the forum.

Charle is 100% percent correct in his statement. In all honesty all the information for rooting, flashing recovery, custom roms are in the development section under the rom bible in the development section. The hard part has already been done for us.
I 100% agree that you should read ALOT before deciding to root. I read everything and watched videos for over a week before deciding to root.
The main point I was trying to make is that if you are sick of answering the same question, don't answer it. Just don't type anything. Hit the back button. There is no need for the rude remarks.
And Neidlinger I don't understand your post whatsoever. I don't understand it because you are one of the most knowledgable and helpful people on this forum. I don't know how many times you had to answer questions regarding bootloops with the wrong recovery, and every single time, you just answered the question. I honestly feel that more replies in the Q&A section should be just like yours.

I apologize, i'm at work and and got heated about something here and really shouldn't of posted that....and when i saw "where is the love", knowing how much i try to help people out around here... it just really bothered me....
you line made it sound like, if we have some one that pops and their very first post is "how do i root my phone" we should bow down and help them. With out throwing any warnings out. just here is how to do it and explain step by step how to.
First of all i will throw out warnings, i will never ward anyone away from doing what they want to do with their device. After all it's their money they are gambling with.
secondly when i bought my first android (mytouch3G) phone i bought with a stock recovery image and a working bootloader and i had to figure everything else from there. I had to learn quickly, if i wanted my phone up and running. So thanks for the props on being knowledgeable, but it was something i pretty much had to do. And people read on BGR, Android Central, or what ever popular bog site about XDA members did this and XDA members did that they jump on here and expect us to hold their hand. People have very well laid out threads on how do do certain things. The reason i treat others the way i do when it comes to problem solving is pretty simple. I had someone do the same for me. A higher up for T-Mobile that took the time and showed me how to do what i needed done. And that kinda what my idea of the Android community is. People helping people, for the fun and enjoyment of it.
with that being said....
With True_blue, Option94, faux123 not to mention another 1/2 dozen good developers and highly knowledgeable people that put things out in black and white, easy to understand English their should be no reason why so many of the same exact threads show up. You can type in just about any Android problem or request in Google and it'll lead you to XDA, and the thread in question. Just like the thread with the guy that just posted " how do i get 2.3, the nexus s variant on my phone"... step one should of been research in stead of starting a new thread....It's the laziness that bothers me. Like with programs like Super Manager and Root Explorer, people are to lazy to learn the ADB commands.... Clockwork ROM manager, people are to lazy to flash a recovery image. Or flashing a ROM go south... did you check the MD5sum? "nope, whats that"... it's just pure laziness that bothers me...
I understand 100% where you guys are coming from. I completely agree that things should be searched for first. I just think that the #1 priority should be helping the person out first, and then correcting. I just want it to be known that this is in no way at all coming from an experience that I had...I think my anger really started with that epidemic of E:/can't mount bs where everyone was like "hey idiot you can get into recovery, you aren't bricked." And now we know now that is not the case.

Helping people makes me feel accomplished no matter what the scenario but fixing the same thing over and over gets to the point where its redundant and you want to get the point across to hit the search button. Hell most of the time ill even link to the thread but when I'm on my phone like I am currently I can't. I enjoy helping but I enjoy even more helping people who can help themselves.

i totally agree with neidlinger on his points. I started with a G1, Mytouch 3g, mytouch slide, and now MT4G. I read everything i could get my hands on how to root and reread it again. If i still didn't understand something, then i would ask a question or search for it. Most of the posts i read nowadays, people want to be spoon-fed out of sheer laziness.
If the questions posed in these forums were even half as thought out as the comments in this thread, 95% of the snappy remarks would disappear. People want to know they are assisting someone who values that assistance. One or two sentences rarely creates that picture.
Ok, well I have completely jacked up my phone from where I updated using Odin..I flashed my phone through a vibrant rom or whatever and now it was in t-mobile, then I flashed it through a fasinate rom or whatever and now its in version. I am looking for the original Samsung Galaxy S Showcase rom or whatever I need to get my phone back to CS and to its orginal state. Can somebody help me?
Check your PM
And don't EVER flash ROMs for other phones.
Seriously? What is it about showcase users that they think they can flash whatever the hell they want and there won't be problems?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I've never understood that either. Why anyone thinks they can flash ROMs for other phones is beyond me.

Please don't do that as it's very annoying. Just ask or post whatever you need to in the general forum. Same people that post in the Dev thread read and post here.

I am not posting random ****, I thought the post was funny, so I responded as such. I shouldn't have mentioned the part about the spam but whatever.
And in response to the comment about why people install ROM's for other phones, yea it's not necessarily smart to do so, but for the most part these forums are not exactly noobie friendly . . .
I am not new to the world of linux, I have been a user of various distros on my personal machines and work servers since 2006. I am coming from the world of webOS, where I did a little development in my sparse spare time, webOS had a lot of promise, but did not have the community nor the rapid pace of development that android has, so I finally switched.
I have found that, through no intentional fault of the community members here, entry into the world of Android homebrew has been somewhat intimidating, mainly because of the terminology that you all use. I have looked, but still don't know what many of the acronyms stand for. It has a high "entry cost," which it probably should otherwise you would have every joe schmoe trying to flash their phones with various experimental roms. (well apparently they do that anyway) But perhaps a glossary of terms could be helpful somewhere for those of us that got to the party late but could still be of some help once we catch up).
And to the guy who started this thread: don't do something until you have read about it sufficiently enough to be sure that it will work. Going backwards is often alot more difficult than spending the time to do it right in the first place. I have learned this lesson the difficult way a number of times (I am not the most prudent person with stuff, i like to shoot from the hip and have shot myself in the foot a number of times)
So a glossary similar to this which is stickied in this thread?

I kind of like the fact that these forums are not dumb down it makes the learning curve steeper but I learn more that way not just the hows but also the whys. I spent two months reading this and other forums before I flashed my first ROM. I find the things I work the hardest for I learn the best and all the information is here sometimes you just have to dig for it. IMHO like
That's the spirit! Look at you! Nub of the year!
I was the same way honestly. I was very hesitant before ever doing anything to my phone first time around.
Haha its a first with android! I am more along the lines of coding firmware for PSN and jtagging xbox 360 consoles! I am a nub at this haha
I am in the same boat
I did the same thing to my showcase with the exception that I downloaded (from a different forum) learned my lesson, a odin file that was listed for cellular south showcase and when I flashed it it turned out to be for a Tmobile vibrant and now I only get errors when the modem bin tries to load in oden. Kinda hosed at this point!
Any Ideas on this would me much appreciated!!!

Ok I'm a newer member here, but not to hacking and yes I posted a thread yesterday about the HTC reps givin the ok to state that the Thunderbolt would be getting Gingerbread in the 3rd quarter. I only put it up because it was being reported on other forums and maybe just maybe someone would care....
I never expected to be slammed by memebers of this forum for doing so because I only have "4" post. You cant post on the Development board unless you have 10 post???So how does somebody get thier if the put up something and it's slamed all over. I can really understand why all the Devs are RUNNING away from XDA. The personality of this forum is really awfull. I will probably be kicked off here after this and I really don't care thier are numerous forums around and I did post the same thread on a couple other board and not one of then slammed me for doing so and locked the thread. I have gingerbread so I don'r really care when it comes down but it would be nice to have an official rom for the DEVS to work with..
Thanks for the pleasantries XDA

and you are the exception..(the nice part)...im scared as hell to even post this here..ive been victim of this as well...
while back a leaked radio was (found) then week or so later another radio leak popped up and the file size was different,...simply posted MY THOUGHTS on the file size being different.... and people were calling me mentally ill????....bi polar and manic depression were the claims... if they Are such GREAT psycholigists and can make a diagnosis from a forum post....why are they at home talking **** and NOT HELPING PEOPLE,...way to do your part in this life. with people like that, n wonder the country is such a wreck. but i do have to agree people around this place are F**ked a**holes.
the devs RUNNING is obvious and i think ALOT of newbs are scared and not even wanting to ask for help for fear of being ripped on.
ALOT of people on here just respond crapppy things to people just trying to share some info...well i dont blame them eiher for going somewhere else
bout to delete bookmark for this headache.. good luck to those who dont
Man, you people have such a sense of entitlement. No one pays for these forums. No one is begging you to stay or sign up.
Therefore if you don't like the forums, don't stay. But continuing to post threads complaining about your experience is stupid.

I myself posted to your thread and my rant was more towards the news itself. Against the reps and stuff continiously blowing smoke up our a$$. Sorry if you felt it was a personal attach on you as a poster.
I have experience both sides. Some people here are super nice, understand that some are noobs and will go through great lenghts to help you out. Others gets off on bashing people and acting like they are the sh!t when they are probably some techy geek living in their moms basement.

this is exactly what I'm talking about, there isn't much info here anymore they all took it to other sights. I don't remember reading anything anywhere that stated you had the authority to say who can/cannot post here, or whether or not they should "go somewhere else."
The OP makes a good point. What's worse, someone making an observation that might help others think twice before they slam someone, or someone replying to a post with no other motive than to play king and tell someone s/he is stupid and telling s/he to go somewhere else?
It's pretty obvious which is the more mature of the two methods.
There have been times where I thought someone's information was lacking credibility. I've asked questions, but haven't taken cheap shots. What's the point?

Exactly why Team Bamf left...I haven't checked these forums since Bamf left and this is one of the first things I see! Another reason why Bamf will always be the best, with the best Devs, Themers, Contributors, members, etc! Glad to be a member of such a great team of devs and themers! Bunch of uncivilized people on here that don't know how to act. Unbelievable...Everyone needs to drop whatever they're on and get Bamf'd. Getting ready for a sick rom drop...(I know b/c I've tested it, themed it, and played with it!)

What do you mean....'you people'?
I have seen some extremely helpful people on here thats why i come here. I do go to other forums for some things because thats where the dev's for certain things went. Some people have been treated very unfairly on this forum and no it shouldn't be like that. Personally I have had people say stupid stuff to me but in the end ya gotta realize with this many people on here there are bound to be those with no social skills at all who's intellectual capacity goes just below the Waterboy. Block em, bleep em or beat em with your own wit. I realize that being on any forum and in fact just being on the internet means there are those who take on internet personas of being the baddest dude in the world. Fuhgeddaboutit. If thats what a person has to do to make themselves feel better i make my comments then i talk around them. Or I'll let them know their comments mean less to me than what i clean off my shoes after mowing the lawn..(stupid neighbor dog grr)
"Can't we all just get along?" No, probably not.
To the douchebags out there who find time to bash people who post here............pfltttttttttttt. Go climb a mountain empty your worldly frustrations then come back, grab a latte, and lets chat.
That's my two cents.
I agree with the OP. I frequent completely different sets of threads and it's the same everywhere. Why take the time to post something negative? Why? As much as people complain about contributing to the community, flaming posts certainly do not . Oh well, when something such as the internet exists, some people will use that avenue to be abrasively rude and inconsiderate. Etiquette applies in all social interaction situations, not just in person .

Ya know, its not so much we just wanna beat on a guy. It's that SO MANY threads have been started. Last time the gullible fool even posted a link to a pic to the absolute fakest looking "corporate memo" I'd ever seen. A lot of people were lapping that crap up and I called them idiots then. Some people actually believed a Verizon rep posted in this forum earlier this week too. Uh.... No, that didn't happen either. Between threads like "Verizon says gingerbread is coming!" threads and the horribly mangled English so often used, I'm beginning to think forums in general are magnets for the least intelligent forms of life walking upright. It's not just Android forums. It's forums on just about every subject imaginable. I think its because nobody ever calls someone stupid when they say something really stupid. A great way to flush your credibility down the toilet is to post a thread like you did. XDA is XDA because they tend to hold themselves to a higher standard. Go look at most other android forums. Most of the development threads are copy and pastes of XDA threads. That's not changing. I'm gonna ask real nice that you please think real hard about what you post here. Maybe check to see how many threads exactly like your proposed thread already exist. Lots of people post questions and comments all the time to good reception. It really is just the foolish nature of your subject matter.

I don't jack people off with their own ass-backwards ideas just to get along. I don't say anything here I wouldn't say to your face. Not all ideas are valid and worthy of equal consideration. Stupid NEEDS to be called stupid and made fun of. I'd like to live in a world where when stupid people spoke they got laughed out of the room. I can hardly believe people buy some of the insanity and lies they're sold most of the time.
I'm new to posting myself... I've been waiting in the weeds for sometime now, reading the thread for Synergy ROM for a long time. I've got only 4 or 5 posts as well. So far, I haven't had any bad reactions to posts, PM's or even contacting one of the Devs on G+ for the only issue I couldn't manage to figure out on my own.
To the OP:
Try to remember where you are when you post. You are in a forum that is populated with many experienced, sharp people, who know a great deal about this platform. Those that are the MOST knowledgeable typically don't even post. It's those who *think* they know a lot who do. Sadly, uninformed questions do not simply get ignored. Think of it as walking into a medical convention and asking a large population of surgeons why anesthesia is necessary during surgery. They expect that you know some minimal facts before asking a question.
Sadly, these same intelligent people browse the General and QandA sections for posts such as yours to flame you for no reason. Not everyone here is that way, but clearly there are many.
I lurked here for a year, before ever signing up and posting anything simply because it was clear some knowlege is necessary to root, mod, theme and customize your phone. And it was clear that many of my questions had already been answered simply by looking.
Don't get discouraged, read, then read some more. There is a lot to learn, but most of it isn't that hard. And don't pay any attention to the negativity - it only feeds the problem.

@zelendel is a Moderator on the forum and is far more tolerant than I am. I said that if you were serious you should search. The first rul of XDA (read them if you haven;t done so before) is to "Search before asking anything". This question has been asked many times, sometime by noobs, sometimes by trolls, so the answer and the reasons why not are on XDA and Google in many, many places already - starting a new thread to ask the same thing is contrary to the rules of XDA and, to be honest, is just ignorant and lazy as well.
While Simon is correct about searching. I will break it down the best I can. The device is just not compatable with android. All the bootloaders are locked down tighter then fort knox. The kindle that you mentioned is based off of linux like android is. The iphone will never be allowed to run anything other then apples software.

Oh wow! So you took all that time to post two responds and then went ham on me calling me all kinds of things and still didn't even answer the question? And you are calling ME ignorant? who are you, the owner of the xda developers website or something? You can't just judge a book from its cover, homie! Do you know how long I have been a "member"? Do you know if I know everything about this website or not? Do you think I would have asked if I had known the answer? I have been an Iphone owner for several years and I have just switched to the android community and I am still exploring it which means I am new. And I actually love it, but people like yourself make it a little unpleasant. Man, this is ridiculous. I am being insulted for just a questione. Do you know what the word "manners" mean, or does that not exist in your country? Thank you for this and I will make sure to delete this thread as soon as I figure out how. Have a pleasent day.

You are more then welcome to ask question, but please understand that this is a developers site. Alot of the questions most new users have already have been asked a few hundred times. So searching first will most likely save you time and frustration. So of the people here are a bit short but that is due to people thinking we are a support site. This is the furtherest from the truth. So my advice would be to search and read. Things will come to you in time. You will also notice how the same questions are asked over and over again. After some time this will start to annoy you as well when you are looking for info and you have to read over hundreds of posts of the same question.
I will close this for you as you can not close or delete any threads. Even ones you make.
