Speaker Placement When Playing Games - T-Mobile LG G2x

I noticed this pretty quickly, and its quite annoying, to say the least. I don't mean to be another person to post a con about this phone, but I haven't seen this one yet.
You're playing a game in landscape mode... am I the only one who keeps his fingers on each side of the device for comfort? By doing this, I cover the speaker and dampen the sound....
Am I seriously the only one?

Anyone?
BUMP

its no worst than my nexus one which had the sound blaring out back side of the device... i had to cup my hand in an uncomfortable way to get he sound to bend toward me...

Not only that, playing music while it's in the Desk Dock is pretty weak too.

Seems to me like a pretty weak design flaw....

I was wondering about that. Does the dock block the speaker?

Pretty much.... I mean I still receive my notifications just fine.... but I believe its definitely quieter.

Honestly, where else is the speaker going to be? It's terrible on the back for every reason and you can't put it on the sides because then you'll cover it with your hand while on a call.

Keyboard spring noise

I know this has been discussed before but how many people can hear a noise which sounds like a spring when they open the keyboard. Feels very flimsy and nowhere near as solid as the tytn.
I hear it too; I thought it was just me. I had the Hermes before this, and I wouldn't characterize the slider as solid though
I hear it, but it feels pretty solid to me.
I hear it too, I don't like it one bit. Feels pretty solid though
a spring noise
I have no such thing as a spring noise when opening my keybord...
so my awnser to the poll: NO

Dont think its a spring, but a slider that protects the ribbon cable. when the device is open
Having listened again its more of a rattle and it rattles when the keyboard is open if you move the device about.
Hi All,
I maybe had the same thing.
If u flip your keyboard and turn your TP around u can see a little panel. This seem to be protecting something. This panel can go up and down and does so when you flip your kboard. In this panel is a spring
On My first TP (i switched mine becos of this fault) the panel jumped open, which sounded like a spring.
I ttink this is the problem.
I returned to the store and switched mine, np since.
Hope this helps
Mine is brand new today so do you think I should send it back? From the poll, seems about 50/50 people have the problem.
Edit...
It has all become clear, I can see the little plastic cover that is loose making the noise. Dont know if its suposed to be loose or not though
It's supposed to be loose, it moves while u flip your keyboard.
What happened with my old one (just after tweo days) that when i flipped my kboard, the plastic cover moves to far and opens for a brief second, hence the sound. I still have the sound but it's way softer cos tha plastic cover dont move that much.
Hope this helps, if u worry, return it, way to expensive !

[Q] A good speaker fix? (PHYSICAL fix, not software)

Hmm, so I've figured out that apparently my right speaker is loose.. or something. It plays sound, but if it's too loud, it starts buzzing and gets really fuzzy sounding. Then, it stops playing anything at all. However, if I squeeze the right side where the speakers are, I get sound again.
So, my question is, is there any physical fix that you guys know of? Do you think using some rubber cement on the side would fix the issue (probably my last ditch effort if I care enough)? I was actually hoping there might be some kind of... holey electrical tape, like the black electrical tape, but with holes so that sound could pass through.
Hmm, any ideas?

[Q] Which way do you lie your phone down?

Hey all,
I was just wondering how everyone puts their Nexus S' on a flat surface. Like a table.
The curved screen allows you to lie it face down, but then BLN becomes useless.
On the flipside (hah.), lying the phone on its back leaves the camera lens exposed. :S
just like normal , screen up and butt down ....
With a good case, any way you'd like
If I'm in the range that I can hear the ringtone, face down for a little louder ring.
If I'll go someplace else that I won't hear the ringtone, face up so I can see if BLN is active when I come back.

Same strategy for me. The Nexus S doesn't have a very loud speaker, sadly.
I put my phone on the table with the screen facing up. Never occurred to me about the camera thing but I don't really care. I've been placing it this way as long as I can remember and the camera is fine.
At first face down (contour display) but now face up almost all the time. I'm too used to putting it down like that.

Same Here
Invisible shield on back. So screen up back down. I donut use screen protection on front

Hm, interesting.
I'm being really OCD in that I feel like putting it face down will scuff the plastic bezel on the top and bottom. No way will make it completely safe! D:
I have a BestSkinsEver on mine, but it still doesn't really protect the camera.
It's either in my hand (most of the day) or in my pocket.
I balance mine on an edge.
Face down so I can hear my alarm.

Sound when you unfold the phone.

Hi Guys, maybe this is a stupid and weird question, but I was wondering when you open ( unfold ) the phone, and you are in super quiet room, do you hear scratching sound coming out of the phone? Or is the opening very quiet without any noise at all? Is that sound that I hear the brushes cleaning the hinge? I just noticed this sound and I am not sure if it was there since the beginning. Unfortunately, I was in really dusty place and had my phone in my jeans front pocket and I am paranoid that maybe some of that dust got inside.
Thank you for your answers.

It's actually pretty quiet. If you put your ear up to it, you can hear the bristles/hinge, but it really is not a noticeable sounds.
Mine too so far has been quiet. I have also applied a transparent matte skin on my hinge so far no issues. I am using the spigen slim armor pro case which protects the hinge. still, once in a week or so I clean my hinge but I haven't yet used it in any dusty environment.
Mine does this at times, I've also noticed its worse if I have left it open or closed for a while. If you open and close it a few times its not as noticeable. I assumed thus was just the hinge brushes doing their thing.

This is exactly what mine does. Some people have speculated that it's the preinstalled screen protector that makes the sound. I think they said the sound went away after removing it, but mine is staying on. I have got used to the sound.

Camera module is moving if I shake the phone?

Okay so before you say "why would you shake your phone", I don't. When I use the phone for a while, like for daily stuff, I lift it up to my ear and I hear the camera module is being loose. Is this normal? If I shake the phone at this point, it's clear the module is loose. Like if I just swiftly move my arm while phone is in the hand, the camera just flips out and retracts.
Is this normal?
Maybe it is... then it's fine. Just curious really.
Thanks!
If I shake it vigorously it comes out a bit, like not even the thickness of the module. Normal lifting I hear nothing. If i do hand chopping motions I can hear very faint clicks.

Hmm my module is definitely way more "loose" than that. If I do like a firm movement then stop suddenly, the module lifts out quite a bit. MAYBE it's normal that each phone has a different movement? Honestly, I only paid attention to this because when I lift it up to my ears or something, I hear it is a bit lose.
Which case are you using? The ASUS one with the camera block thing seem to fix my issue but that case is SO slippery, it feels worse than the normal phone. I would consider myself not clumsy but unlucky, so risking that case is ehhh.
I don't think it's normal that each phone is different to that extent though.
I'm using the included clear case and it sux. Slippery and prone to scratches. I was intending to switch to the included black one but yeah it is slippery too. Apparently the RhinoShields are good but it makes the phone a brick.
