does the transformer have haptic feedback? i cant find the setting for it anywhere.
I'd love to know about this as well.

i don't think so, i use better keyboard 8, which does have a setting, and is enabled, but it does not work.
same with thumb keyboard, kinda of makes sense i guess since phones already have the hardware for vibration mode but not really needed on a tablet.
its a tablet, not a phone, it doesnt have a servo for vibrate.
The Acer has it, but honestly it's pointless and kind of annoying.

Hey guys ive had my htc touch pro for about a week now, and im running the rome0s, i think its a great improvment over the stock 3 ROM..
Anyway to my problem, i think it may be hardware related but not so sure.
When i am wanting to use the QWERTY keyboard i slide it out as normal. But sometimes it will not change the screen to landscape. It will stay as portrait.
Ive left the keyboard open for a while and it will finally click over...
Not sure why. It does not happen all the time but it is very annoying when i need to type something quickly.
Does anybody else experiance this huge delay/problem?
Its not just in text messaging but with every application including the home screen....
Could my HTC Touch Pro be faulty?
Or is it something i will just have to deal with?
Please help me out soon guys as i can exchagne it straight over for a new one if need be.
Update: Just happened again, though this time it was while i was typing a text message....any ideas?
It would be hard to proove that it happens to the shop because it is quite random :S
Bump. Come on guys anybody got any advice to give??
I always need to touch the Return key for 2-3 times to make it work, sometimes it doesnt work at all and I have to use Home key instead...
Is it a common software problem or it's just my cappy ?
It happens to me with any rom/kernel etc.
I don't know if it is software or hardware related, my back/return key is irresponsive almost everytime, speccially whe the softkeys backlight is off
I have the same problem especially when the backlight is off.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the hardware or software that has to do with this button i just think its the way the phone was designed. I have issues too sometimes with it. Really you just have to hit it in exactly the right spot and it works every time. Play aroundwith it and youll probably notice its fine you just have to hit it in the right spot. Still its frustrating i know. Ive just started planting my whole thumb print on that sucker and it works every time.

Yup, I hate it, I've played with a Samsung Fascinate and it's return button is so responsive, it's hard to believe it's anything else but a hardware problem.
the problem is that, why are all the other three keys work every time? ive tested in LCD TEST MODE and it seems like if you touch it fast it wont response while the other buttons have no problem like this

if it always works like this, i can still tolerate it, what i really worried about is that maybe one day it will be totally broken.

Well, I went to the repair store and they are aware of this issue. Is a hardware issue. The phone works this way. Its frustating because all other buttons works fine except return. I had an unlocked T-Mo Vibrant with Att, which BTW, works with ATT 3G service, and all of the bottons were very responsive, they even have a better lighted keypad. I suppose this is a design fault.
yep, vibrant and fascinate has brighter back light than cappy

did they mentioned how r they gonna solve this?

Same problem here. It's completely non-functional if the phone is behind the window of my armband. All the other buttons work, though the home button is a bit touchy too.

Well mine has the same problem too, even the home button is like that. I tried with 3 Captivates and they are all the same. I just don't understand why people in this forum never bring this problem up before (seriously). Well, it is not something like very annoying, but we should get better that this!!!
When I called samsung about this back in September after having this phone for two months the tech said.........get this, that the home and return buttons required a double tap due to the location to avoid backing out of apps like the browser and apps that require alot of lower screen use. I dont even believe it a little bit but who knows maybe I am wrong. All I do know is that all three of the captivates we have require at LEAST two taps, I dont think we are going to make samsung admit to to many more actual issues with this device.

i have learned on mine, that if i swype any of the keys from the top left down to the bottom right all the buttons work 100% of the time.. but that may just be mine

Really, we deserve better than this. Malfunction in GPS is even less important than this issue, we can live without GPS, but can never live with a stupid back bottom. I really cant understand, how did the Samsung guys even let this design get through the quality test...
No problems with either of mine..I've 2 exactly the same date and both work fine with a light touch on all of the buttons..both of mine are the 9-4-2010 model with the JH7 firmware installed.
Mac
same issue.. annoys me a lot. I'm thinking I should abuse the Home key and just use a task killer lol
Same here. I notice it is much worse when my hands are dry (my skin is always dry anyway). If I dampen my finger (like, you know, licking it) it responds much better. It almost seems like it doesn't register capacitance as well in that area (really, all the buttons for me), but for some reason the rest of the screen is fine. It is rather irritating at times, but I deal with it. They'd probably have to replace the whole screen to fix it, and I don't see that happening.
No problem here, and on any other Captivate I try.

I have just the opposite problem with the search button. It has a mind of its own. I won't be touching a button or the screen and the stupid search comes up. It is really starting to get annoying. I was happy at first with the captivate, but this will be my last Samsung phone. They make things with nice hardware but their software and build quality is pretty craptacular. Talk about a piece of junk.
My vibrate works, but I had a blackjack 2 which shook violently, I guess this one is just weak.
Even when I was bone stock no root, I couldn't figure out how to get my phone to give me haptic feedback. I even tried downloading a program called forcevibrate that didn't work.
Running ARHD2.1 currently, every past Rom didn't help either. Multiple wipes and factory resets to no avail. Anyone any ideas? Can someone list all haptic feedback options in various menus so I can check if I missed something?
try downloading spare parts and check the baltic feedback option also menu/settings/sound settings you can adjust how strong the feedback is. hope that helps. the haptic on my inspire seems quite strong at least compared to my captivate. if it doesn't work after using spare parts I would assume it's a hardware issue

Tried it, no luck. I have two ring scratches on my screen and a nick on the corner of the outside so even though I'm on warranty (HTCs not ATT) I don't think they'd hook me up. Plus I'm rooted but I'm sure I could remedy that. I wonder if its a known issue. I know it is on other phones HTC makes but I haven't heard of people complaining about it.
yeah I have no issue at all as I said my feedback is quite strong. is yours just extremely weak or doesn't work at all at this point? was the phone dropped pretty hard? I would try for a warranty couldn't hurt. getting it unrooted and s off is not too hard

Hi, has anyone had the problem where certain keys on your keyboard randomly don't work but the keys around it do? I have to turn the screen off a few times to get it to work again. It happens very often, is there any fix? This is the first android phone that I've had a issue with the keyboard with. (nexus one and g2 were fine)
Using Gingeritis (beta IV) (Happens on the other roms too) and smart keyboard pro (tried the gingerbread keyboard same problem)
Thanks
I get this problem too.
I've noticed it on all of the ROMs I've used.
Doesn't matter if it's stock keyboard, SwiftKey, or SlideIT, I still get that problem.

yeah very, can't wait till the bionic comes out haha damn GS2 isnt coming
Double check that you are not accidentally resting your finger on one of the touch buttons on the phone. i had this problem when i first got my Thunderbolt and realized it was how i was holding the phone.
I've noticed this too, and like the person above me said, its usually because my hand barely rests on the search button. I guess its far enough off that it doesn't register it as touching the button, but still a part of the touch screen? Either way, moving my hand fixes it.

My buddy had this problem where the screen was unresponsive and he called VZW about it and they acknowledged that it is a known problem. Sorry dont know a fix but apparently VZW knows about it.
for me, the problem hasnt been a key on the keyboard not working, but lits of times when i am in the middle of typing, the keyboard will disappear & when i bring it up again, the cursor will be in a completely different place.
additionally, sometimes when i press on a link nothing will happen. ill have to press 2-3 times before it registers. and as with the unresponsive key issue, this is also with any rom.
the cursor issue though seems to be worse on aosp roms.
I get this issue as well. It is VERY frustrating. I'm using swiftkey
I had trouble getting letter "k" to work today in smart keyboard pro . It took 4 tries.
I'm trying TouchPal, so far so good.
I've had this problem happen with EVERY ROM I've flashed and with multiple keyboards (HTC KB, GB KB, Swiftkey, etc.)

So will they replace phones? It's hella annoying.
They did offer to swap it for him. He is a unique case though, he is on his fourth or fifth tb. he has called vzw so many times and complained about his phone, they are going to give him a bionic when it comes out. so he declined the swap, but it was offered.

Does anyone know how to turn off the annoying vibration when a called number answers? Searched everywhere, but can't find any answer for the atrix 2.
I never knew there was such a feature....Go into settings/call settings and see if HAC mode in enabled. If so, turn it off and see if that does it.
Nope, tried that and no go, also turned off haptic feedback and any vibration mode I could find, but, still has it. I saw in other brands of phones forums, that on their phone it was a feature for butt dial notification and couldn't be shut off.
I can't call it bro, I've had my Atrix 2 since October and never noticed that
OK, thanks......just really annoying on both ends of the phone call, just have to use BT more often, won't do it in that mode.

That is really odd... Never noticed it. There might be some string in build.prop that could shut it off.
I looked in there, but doesn't seem to be anything in string that could be it....unless I'm missing something. I had to restore phone after playing around with a rom and soft bricked it( didn't have CWM on boot) so that might have something to do with it.

Found the culprit....nq security had an option to vibrate phone when call was answered, stated so you could keep phone away from head during the ringing because of higher radiation levels. Thanks for the responses.
