[Q] Problem with downloading from Market - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Here's the problem.
I now have my Transformer. I have done the update.
I have signed into Market with my gmail acct. It will not let me download any app. I keep getting a popup message. "Purchase cancelled. Please open My Apps to establish connection with the Android Apps server".
I am trying to download Flash 10.2. I am not trying to purchase an app. Have tried other apps also with the same message.
I also signed in on a laptop, and it shows the Transformer, in the Market. It will not let me send anything to the Transformer from there either......
Any ideas??? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like your market app didnt update itself to the latest version when you logged on first time. Try wiping the cache in the settings for both the market, and the market updater, reboot and try again.

VERY NICE.......Thanks......worked perfectly......

Hi,
I keep getting the above error and can't seem to find a solution. Searching Google, it looks like a solution is to clear the cache and data for gmail by going into Manage Applications. This doesn't seem to be an available option with the Captivate. I get to Manage Applications but con't find the gmail app. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Regards-Michael G.
Gmail is a system app so you have to set the filter to all under manage applications.
Not sure if this applies to you, but I got a similar error when restoring my apps via Titanium (when updating from 2.1 to 2.2). I just needed to manually restore those in the market.
Thanks! I'm using a droid and the setup is a little different. I did it, now lets see if that works.

is there anything out there that will keep track

is there anything out there that will keep track of the free apps on my phone. I know the maket has all the paid apps stored. BUt the free apps seem to be "remember what you had and go find it again" Am I wrong? I've got a lot of very occasional use or background stuff, and I would hate to esort to pen and paper to write it all down.
The market stores both. I wiped my phone last night and when I rebooted all the apps I had downloaded previously reinstalled themselves, both paid and free.
I cant speak though if you uninstalled an app and then wanted to reinstall it, if it will stay forever in your market.
install appbrain and sync it.
I had this same problem a while. I had to tell it to sync to gmail (or Google, however It's worded) and if auto sync is turned off you have to manually tell it to sync. If i decline the backup to Google my market remembers paid apps, if i accept it and sync it at least one time, they are all in the market.
Rooted Thunderbolt on BAMF Sense 3.0 RC 4 with MR2 radio and latest dreamKernel.

go to market.android.com in your browser
sign in with the account you use to make purchases on your phone.
top right, click 'my market account'
everything you ever downloaded is there. you can reinstall by opening the app and it will open up on your phone. hope this helps.

Market sync

Hi Guys
I have this problem with android market. It is totally out of sync with my android phone.
on my PC, the market web portal shows that i have apps installed which are actually not installed. Same thing on the phone, there apps installed on my sensation that do not show as installed on the web portal
other thing is that when i format my sensation by installing an RUU, and when i sign in to my google account on the phone, it does not sync back the apps to my phone, i have to manually install them from the market either through the market on the phone or the market web portal.
Any ideas of how to solve this

[Q] Google+ and Play downloads not working right.

Today Google + and Google Play app downloads have stopped working right. It will no longer sign into G+, I get a warning that it can't communicate with the server. For the Play apps download issue, I can log into the the Play store and see my current apps and search for new ones but it won't download a new app through the phone or sending it from my online account on my PC. I've cleared the data for both apps, tried force stopping, restarting the phone, hard reset and still no luck. All other Google apps are working fine and the phone itself is working fine so I don't know why these two apps are giving me issues. I have a 100% stock NS4G. Any help would be great.
i had the same problem after the 4.1.2 update to rectify this i deleted my google account from my phone then rebooted it and added my google account back to the phone, after that i was able to download and update apps again, i don't use google+ but i would imagine the above procedure would sort that issue out as well

All downloads fail except with Chrome app

I'm using Lightning Browser from F-Droid as my default browser and any time I try and download a file, whether from a webpage or even Google Drive app, I get a Download Failed message.
I have cleared data storage from the Download manager app, factory reset the phone, removed and reinstalled Lightning Browser...but nothing seems to help.
If I login to my Google Drive from within Chrome app, or from webpages within Chrome app, then those files download okay.
Anyone else had this happen to them and any suggestions to get downloads working from other sources besides Chrome app?
Thanks.

Check the app settings, and see if it has all the rights to store a file.
