Does anyone know if there is something that can be edited in the build.prop that will enable the home keys to stay illuminated when the screen is on in dark settings? the keys go off so day and then you can't see them

no i dont think samsung puts that setting in there. hoowever you might be able to use an app called "keep the lights on" which will bind the backlights to screen on. that way they dont timeout at all
Yeah I was just wondering if there was a line that could be edited in the build.prop that you could change a standard value, like so many milliseconds to more milliseconds for the home keys alone. I wouldn't smythe entire display not timing out

Check out new go keyboard from market. They added slide capabilities.

shameless bump...
with it turned on in settings, where is the button that is supposed to be on the keyboard that is used to use sliding mode... without this sliding is not working...
changed the battery at a festival - no clean shutdown, to find the default touch input keyboard overlay no longer appears when selecting a text input area after powering back up- can touch every other button and link as normal- phone behaves fine otherwise- just no keypad overlay any more.
navigated to the market and have since installed a 3rd party keyboard and everything now works fine again, but how can i get the default original HTC/Android back? can I navigate to some config file and zero it somehow?
have tried toggling between input methods/ reboots etc- no joy- do not want to factory reset phone
oh

Very odd. factory reset seems the only way. Sorry.

The home screen button, the task manager button and the back button are always at the center on the screen in landscape which is anoying; i was using the official nightly jb rom which has the same problem, now im using the stock jb leak and it has the same problem and the worse is than on the home screen it does not let you use landscape, just portrait. Anyone know how to fix these problems?

Did you check Settings->System->Status bar? (I'm not sure this is present in all JB versions but its there on CM10 on my Nook)

Post a picture of your problem , Use the screenshot button to capture a screen shot ( or hold the power button and volume down ) then upload it on here.
Now im able to use my home screen in landscape mode by forcing it with an app but still got the buttons at the center.

So I am rooted via weak sauce and have Auto Hide Soft Keys app installed so I can utilize all 5" of this screen. My question is, when in landscape the keyboard does not fill the width of the screen. It still leaves a space like the stock soft keys are still enabled. I have the option enabled to spoof the system so it thinks the stock keys are active (works great for games like NFS Most Wanted) but doesn't seem to work with the keyboard in portrait.
I have attached images.
Any one know if it's possible to fix and how?
