where anyone is trying to load maps on the device, we decided to create a tool to do this operation.
It downloads maps on a fresh installation of navigon select navigator for WP7.
We can distribute this tool to anyone who needs it!!
to use it you need:
a wp7 device
zune
navigon installer (xap file, and a way to install it on the device)
.net framework 4 on the pc
don't know what else
anyone is intrested in trying this tool???

first of all, i do not include maps in my package (because you should "buy" them and also because they are way too big).
here the steps to follow:
. add this program to firewall exceptions and run it as administrator
. download maps (iphone maps or similar, you should have .map files) from torrent or in any other way
. download all 3 files from here http://cid-e52d45dda5827eab.office.live.com/browse.aspx/Navigon and extract them in a folder
. enter in the subfolder Data\o25\u\eu\wm_select\Map and copy here your map files
. open the exe file and follow the procedure on screen

i can now upload my favourite maps on my mobile (LG Optimus 7) without becoming crazy while trying to browse folders!

I get to the point where it says, "running web server" & try to do the download from Novigon, but Navigon doesn't connect & throws out an error. Windows 7 x64 btw.

navigon told you the download size?
this could be the problem.
we tried on more than one pc and the ip assigned to the pc is 192.168.50.100, but it is possible that you have another ip.
in c:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file, i add the row
192.168.55.100 navigon.vo.llnwd.net
try to replace the ip with your's ip address (do it after pressing proceed and before start downloading)

mmm.. if you have .map files to add yes, otherwise navigon does not allows to add map after the download (only the software itself can add map data)

It works now, had to change IP as you suggested & your app says to disable PC internet, had to leave it enabled.

Yes, my local pc address of 192.168.0.187.
Windows 7 64 Bit. Had to disable NIS Firewall and run as Admin. I also had to enable the WiFi connection on the phone for some reason. Without that I would get an error after webserver started. Now working great.
thank you!! Making this much easier now to update maps. I see you already updated the program to be able to use local IP address of choice (or called from ipconfig..).
edit1:hmm, it uploads the data, when finished and I open Navigon it has no maps and just quits.

edit2: just tried this again using old fashioned way and it worked. will try again tonight with your compilation. it did not report any errors when downloading to the phone. All maps and sounds were successfully transferred. But Navigon did not show any maps.
edit3: guess it has to do with region. when I try to get mixed maps the old fashioned way I can only get US maps, none of the European maps show up in Navigon. I assume the same is true for your app. It uses EU region and none of my US maps get transferred. does that make sense? Is it possible to add more than one region in NaviKernelConf.ini ?

I did everything like the instruction said but after a few seconds of collecting data from my MDA, the program on the pc said "Country error 120".
What now? I'm trying to make my german MDA compact into an english one.

Anyway replace the 'ROMUpgradeUt' with 'MAUpgradeUt_noID' available here:

Also don't forget to disable the USB connection by right clicking ActiveSync and unchecking the box.
Disable USB? But if I disable the USB how can upload the ROM files to my MDA? I use a USB connection to connect the MDA to my pc.

Trust me it will work- I only did it yesterday to upgrade my mates ROM to 1.12.
He tried to do it himself but it didn't work. When I did it, the only thing I did different was to disable the USB in Active Sync.
Try it and see if it works... its takes about 20 mins to perform the whole thing.
Not sure if I`m missing something but everytime I attempt to connect to the ftp server above (since I`ve got the same problem) I get "access denied" when I connect via ftp.

Make sure you change the login credentials in Internet Explorer; when you get the access denied message go to File> Login As and change the username xda and password to xda.
If that still doesn't work, use a FTP client software package- some people have reported to have problems with FTP when accessed through Internet Explorer.
Anyway replace the 'ROMUpgradeUt' with 'MAUpgradeUt_noID' available here:

Ummm... where do I put this file? I'm trying to run the exe file called "o2asia_11100_922_11100_ship" with the instructions I got from the link I posted on my first post.
I opened the exe file "o2asia_11100_922_11100_ship" with winzip just to see it's content and it has the "ROMUpgradeUt" file but if I replace it and try to run the exe I don't think it will work as the installer is looking for the original "ROMUpgradeUt" and not "MAUpgradeUt_noID".
That's why I wanted clear instructions because I really don't have a *** clue what I'm doing and I really really REALLY can't use the internet now very much as I can only visit off-work sites at my coffee breaks.
So please, help me, I have all the files now but I don't know what to do with them!

Can't get it to work. Here's what I did:
Extracted all the files from "WWE_11200_128_11210_ship" into d:\mda
Did everything as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=14973
But doesn't work. I does upgrade, but the upgrade takes like 10 seconds, then it says to cold boot the mda and after a cold boot it is back in German language.
What am I doing wrong? The .bat file I made does some changes and I am doing everything like the instructions say but something must be wrong here. Please help.

And to contribute and help other newbies - The BEST instructions (in my opinion) are those from "NemesisDE" in this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=14973&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=75
See pages 4 and 5. Read the instructions on page 4 and then see page 5 for further info = where to download the large rom file as it's been moved and also get the MaUpgradeUt_noID.
To clarify: After you have the ROM (I used WWE_11200_128_11210_ship), download also MaUpgradeUt_noID.
Then you can proceed with NemesisDE's instructions, they are VERY good. I had no problems converting my german MDA compact into english.

With our IT we enabled OMA, OWA also, I installed the self-signed certificate on my Touch Pro, tried with and without SSL, erased the account on the device to create it from scratch, read all the posts, googled and tried what suggested but still get connecting for a while and then Error Synchronizing (built-in e-mail client), when I switch to active sync and view status I get "Synchronization couldn't be completed. Try again later" and Support code says 0x80072F17 (certificate related). WHen I set up my iPhone with the account details I sync without problem all the mails with subfolders...Any help?

i had the same problem and later i realized that there two different reasons for this problem. but before i can help i need to know two things. 1st what rom and build version r u using? 2nd what version of htcalbum r u using?
Thank you for the quick rsponse, I hope you can help me. The ROM version is 1.90.401.1 WWE, Radio 1.02.25.19, as for album I have the version that was originally distributed (I could find any version number), BTW it is very slow on loading.

Make sure you have the correct root certificate as well. Im using a free ssl cert from Startcom and I have to have both the Intermediate and Root certs installed for it to work because by default the root cert isnt there. You can check this out by Start > Settings > Certificates.
Ren13B I have just intermediate cert installed, the one that OWA is using, self-signed. Can you tell me more about how to make it appear in ROOT tab?

The fastest way I've seen to do this is search for a Microsoft tool called "SSLChainSaver". There are instructions on the site for using it, but the short form is:

This creates a directory with the certificates, and also creates two XML files containing the full certificate chain, one for Windows Mobile 5, and one for WinMo 6.
Find the XML file you want (<exch. server>.wm6.xml, probably), copy to _setup.xml, and make it a .CAB file:

makecab certs.cab _setup.xml
This creates a .CAB file you can download directly to your phone containing all the necessary SSL certificates for your server.

It seems there is something wrong with our OWA certificate, I found out that issuer has to be same as subject which is not, so even the tool work smoothly it could not get the root cert...Strange that iPhone has no problem with that but WM6 does:-(

No this one needs an ActiveSync (Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Centre (Vista/Win 7) active connection to your phone first. Then double click the msi file. It acts as an install file. I recommend reading the install notes on the Microsoft page the link takes you to.
I tried to upload the smaller cab file to my post but it kept returning error messages.

Copy the certificate file to your device, open file explorer and click the file You should see message "Certificates were installed"... I think that's all, at least that's how it worked for me

Try using .cer files. If your school doesn't have those, try googling some converter from other formats to .cer

just turn on Wi-Fi and follow the instructions on screen. You will just have to choose correct encryption type, input username and password and then it will automatically use installed certificate to ensure that the connection is secure.

Dear Forum, I really have problems with several apps, having .Net-framework 2.0 AND 3.5 installed at my devices - My problem: some apps simply don`t run, even by changing the Application policy from one to the other or to default.
I oftenly get the error - GNAgent.exe - .......
So if I would be able to create my own cert can I give allowences to several apps with problems?

Hi, why do you think your own certificate will help?
GNAngent.exe is part of Google Navigator, maybe uninstalling (or reinstalling) it will solve your problems as well.
Anyway, here is a mention how to install self-signed cert: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281723
You can also try DisableCertChk utility.
first you are going to need to get 2 APK
The first one is com.google.android.apps.tv.launcherX_1.0.40152940
The second one is Google_base.apk
Then you are going to put your Android 9 version into developer mode you need to allow USB debugging and select USB configuration to any protocol such as media transfer protocol
When you did that you can sideload your two APK files when that is done you are going to need an app on your mobile phone called called remote adb shell. Find out the ip address of your box go to network and ethernet and you will find your ip adress. Go to your phone open remote adb shell put in your ip adress and 5555 on the second line click connect . Now you have two possibilities either remove the current launcher or disable it if you want to keep it
issue the following command
pm uninstall –-user 0 com.google.android.tvlauncher
if you want to reinstall the old launcher the command is as follow
cmd package install-existing com.google.android.tvlauncher
Go back to your android TV and you should now have the google tv launcher , as a side note some countries might need to use a VPN to make it work properly although it was launched officially cheers.

Thank you my friend but this is not much; I hope when you try it you let me know how it went; there is also an app that can help with the installation if you are not comfortable with ADB however I don't know if the app permanently applies the launcher changes or if you must choose it each time you logon; in any case here is the link to the app the app is called android tv home

I'm trying to get this on a Nvidia Shield TV 2017 specifically for the purposes of having voice search work in sideloaded apps and browsers. The voice search works on sideloaded apps on the Chromecast with Google TV, so can you voice search sideloaded apps and browsers with this UI on your device(s)?

You need to highlight the text, right click and copy into your browser or select search. The files are there. Not everything is an easy link in the hacker world. You must do the work and think.

Im having a hard time finding "google_base.apk". Thanks to Mattc001 for attaching the xlauncher 1.1.11, I couldn't find that version, only 1.0.xx so ... yes your right, there should be some homework needed to be applied, it sure helps though when the files or "requirements" are attached. For one, it's trusted that the software used is the trusted one from the OP. Secondly, ... just revert to one.
@Mattc001 Could you please elaborate on the "google_base.apk" ... where to find? Is it under a different title name vs. file name? I'm really interesting in your findings. I just recently acquired a TCL with Android TV or maybe its Google TV and would really like to take advantage of tweaks, mods, and things to better enjoy the experience and boost performance.

Why not ? Do you know how to sideload apks ? make sure you are in developer mode and select usb configuration to MTP
Instead of Google_Base I added another version "com.google.android.katniss_6.12.20221010.3-14001602_minAPI24 (armeabi-v7a, x86) (nodpi) _apkmirror.com" Apparently this is it. Everything works but I have to be on VPN USA all the time because otherwise Home or the tab for you - it does not appear at all and I have an error. There is a chance to bypass the need to use vpn from the USA for the home tab to work? Thanks

I need help. I install google tv launcher, but when i try to start it, i just have a black screen ob my TV, and I cant get back old android launcher because in adb shell told mi, that conection in terminated. Is there any possibility to get old launcher back?
