Just had to google it..
i already tried those still gives me an error on the usb driver ....
i think my windows is messed up
What's the error?
usb device not recognized properly
What does your bootloader screen show? Does it show OK to Program?
yes its all good
are you using usb cable that worked on your milestone before?
yep already switched usb cable too still doesnt recognize it , i came home for the weekend and already tried in my usual laptop where i already had drivers rsd lite and all the rest where i´ve done the procedure a gazillion times and still no luck my phone doesnt get recognized, is there something i can do? another software to reload the bootloader i don´t know whats the problem but now i know its in the phone and not in the computer
i have no idea where i pick this up, or it just come to me after reading multiple posts.
inspiration came from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1225998
if there is a problem with your phone not get recognized in bootloader you cold try this:
get a second working in rdslite milestone go to the point when you should start flashing a sbf, plug the first milestone out, put yours in and hit start.
don't know if this works is just an idea.
good luck.
edit: this is as a last solution if you managed to brick the milestone of course you could try another pc or a virtualization solution and try in linux
The RSD Lite does not have the drivers included? you can try that
thats a good idea but i dont know anyone who also has a milestone ...
rsd lite drivers?
isn´t there another software where i can load another bootloader ? something that doesnt need the usb drivers?

RSD Lite is the only you are able to make any modifications to the bootloader.
Do you have experience on windows? you can install a side windows and try the drivers if not you can try uninstalling all the motorola programs and related with the phone and look for one of those programs that clean the registry like ccleaner or tuneup utilities and them install the rds lite again. I use RSD Lite 4.9 and it works perfect...
Did you install the program that came in the CD inside the phone box? it could be the reason...
You can try the first post on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932196&page=6 Sorry to hear that it isnt working
the problem is in the phone not windows ...
not sorry because i already sold my milestone like 4 months ago and the idiot who bought it made more damage to the phone in 4 months than i did in a year and a half using the phone
its his problem not mine because i gave him the phone as new, and i am just trying to help him
I have tried to update my droid with update.zip. It failed with a weird message, smth like could not update modem (the phone was ok before)
Now i got mass of downloaded files, like rsdlite and two sbfs
VRZ_A956_2.4.33_1FF_01.sbf and DROID2WE_X6_2.4.29_FULL.sbf
both stop at 100% and i get a popup message telling new device is found QHSUSB_DNLD or something like that. I've checked ALL motorola drivers (5.2.x update) for subject of this string with the hardware id of PID_9008 but i have found nothing! It just simply DOES NOT exit!
I have found proper dirvers, it looks like MSM6600 default drivers. So when RSD switched to BP mode it won't see anything, tho i get the drivers running and in the device manager i clearly see smth like Qualcomm ..Download 9008 but the RSDLite keeps searching and fails to process - Phone disconnected...
So, maybe anyone here got the same problem or has a clue of how to get rid of bootloader screen? Wiping cache, erasing to factory does nothing, I don't just get what this rsdlite wants? which device appears when it switched to BP download mode? Isn't it the one i get?
I have tried 3 PC, 2xXP and 1xWIN7 so it's NOT the PC's fault.
RSDLite is 5.4.5 - latest, the drivers - latest!
Please guys, need your input!
EDIT: I have joined only 3 files: CG05, RDL1.smg and RDL3.smg to test faster - it will immediatelly switch to BP mode, so no need to erase or reflash whole device. Will upload to rapidshare if anyone wants to test.

This nice manual, does not help either
http: //droid.koumakan. jp/wiki/SBF
Try http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-2-global-hacks/170060-tool-ezsbf-d2g.html — this is a bootable CD image (which can be also used with a USB stick) that performs the task.
Note: 2.4.29 is the recommended (at least by me, after quite some experience) image; it's best to update to 2.4.330 OTA.
Thank you.
But here is the fact:
"If you already use Linux as your OS of choice you can flash with your current system, grab sbf_flash and the SBF file then simply cd to where you put the files, then:
chmod +x sbf_flash
./sbf_flash filename.sbf"
I have Linux Ubuntu and i have tried it already. No use.
“No use” doesn't quite describe the problem, to be honest.

Ok it will flash it flawlessly, no problem. But it does not flash the BP module. It just ignores the fact that in package there are AP and BP firmwares, so sbf_flash will flash only the AP part.

I am not yet able to help but at least i can give an answer that will probably point into the right direction.
What actually happens:
Droid 2 Global has 2 CPUs : OMAP (AP) & Qualcomm(BP)
At some reason the update via sdcard or failed sbf flashing in BP mode erases the BP content and fails to write the new data into the nand/emmc(whatever), so Qualcomm will jump into Emergency download more each time the RSDLite will try to switch to BP mode, thus you will see the QHSUSB_DLOAD device (COM PORT actually) that's it.
The chip is CDMA1x QSC6085 so it barely has any security on board, making it possible to use any Qcom flasher compatible with the chip and + ramdownloader.
What to do:
Get a qualcomm flasher (PSAS or other tools)
Get a ramdownloader (boot loader) for the 6085 (can be found, for older phones)
Extract the original SBF file content and use the *.mbn files and flash it.
This way may help.
Thank you alot of you reply me can you explain me step by step and software links ,................................thanks..

First and foremost, this belongs in the q&a section. Is your phone an MB865, an ME865, is it AT&T branded? Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling the Motorola drivers on your PC? Tried a different USB port and/or another PC? Can you give a little more information? Awesome sound effects, by the way.lol

Yeah, I was kidding. This site can be too serious at times. I know you said you tried everything, but a lot of people say that and it isn't always true, especially when they ask questions on the same day they became a member. I wasn't trying to offend you or insinuate anything. I asked if you had an AT&T branded phone because I was curious as to why you wanted to flash to 2.3.5 then ota to 2.3.6 then ota again to 4.0.4 instead of using this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961310
to go straight to 4.0.4?
So your PC isn't detecting your phone, but ONLY when in fastboot mode, correct? Is the phone detecting the PC? By that I mean, on my phone when I boot into fastboot mode, at first it says:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
0A.72
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Then when I connect it to the PC it changes to:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
0A.72
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
Are you at least getting that?

wot motorola driver ..?? i have installed moto device manager and it is not showing any thing connected.. because it remain in boot mode..:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Use Virtual PC
I still have the same issue. I have installed Windows 7 on VM Ware workstation i.e virtual desktop and then followed the below steps :-
-Reboot your Virtual PC
-Install Motorola drivers.
-Reboot your computer
-Install RSD Lite
-Reboot your computer
-Boot your phone into Fastboot mode
-Connect your phone to your computer using a high-quality (preferably OEM) cable.
-Let your PC install any necessary drivers. When it finishes it should tell you that the device "Fastboot Edison S" is ready for use.
-Turn your phone off, disconnect the cable
-Reboot your computer
-Boot your phone back into Fastboot mode
-Wait a couple seconds then connect your phone to your computer
-Wait a couple more seconds, then look at the bottom text that's displayed on your phone. It should say
This means that your phone is connected to your computer.
-Open up RSD Lite
-Wait a couple seconds. At the top of the list should be your phone (under model it should say "Fastboot Edison S")
-If you've done all this and everything has worked out for you, flash the fxz! Make sure to follow the instructions in the noob thread as specifically as possible

This seems to be happening more lately. it IS a driver issue of some sort, that is for sure. I would just use one of the scripts, or moto-fastboot manually. they do the same thing as rsd but through command line either with your own typing, or a .bat script.
This may also work better in linux, so you can try downloading a live cd/usb of ubuntu and seeing if it is recognized. no need for drives with linux, just download one of the scripts that includes the moto-fastboot utility. Let me know if you need more help.

This is very easy if you have an att phone. If not you will NEED to get the correct FXZ for you phone and download what I am about to link here, then put the correct FXZ for YOUR phone in the same location as in the download, and run the batch file, while your phone is in fastboot, as simple as that. If you do this RSDlite is not needed.
Link to the post with the scripts:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36834775&postcount=108
Again as it is, that is ONLY for AT&T phone, and you MUST get the proper FXZ for your phone, if it is not an AT&T phone, and put the FXZ in the same directory as the rest of the files with the script.

1. Make sure your phone is fully charged (you can't fxz below 30%)
2. Install the correct driver and boot your phone to AP Fastboot
3. You don't have to extract the fxz file. just put them to C:/ as a whole
I recommend you read the instruction again
Obviously you have to get fastboot working. that should just be a drive issue, but you can try a new cable/ usb port/ computer. What rom did you have? you should be able to get into its recovery and flash again.

I was stuck in this same situation just last week, fastboot not being recognized and all. What operating systems do you have? I tried 4 (windows xp 32 and 64bit, windows 7 32bit and windows 8 64bit), and only xp would work a few times. So maybe you can try a friend's computer with xp or anything else. Which drivers are you using? because it worked for me with Motohelper, but not the latest drivers. Either way, keep trying different usb ports especially with the Motorola cable. Let me know if anything works, good luck!

I see, that may be why it's so hard to get fastboot to work. :/ The A2 seems to only like working with the Motorola oem cable for many people, especially with AP fastboot. Well try what you can to keep the battery charged, and try what you can.

I would try using Linux. if you don't want to install it, you should just be able to use a live cd of ubuntu or something. it aught to work right off the bat, no drivers needed. you will ahve to use manual fastboot commands though, no fxz (so you will need to install moto-fastboot)
Have the latest version of Moto Drivers and RSD Lite. installed under Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Phone is detect as a media device with factory cable, but in fastboot on the phone I get nothing with RSD Lite. Is there some issue with Windows 8.1? I can get it to detect just fine on a spare Windows 7 machine.
Any pointers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
It sounds like you are missing the fastboot drivers. With the phone plugged into the PC, boot to fastboot. then enter the windows device manager screen (from a run box type mmc devmgmt.msc and hit enter).
Make sure there is nothing with a yellow ? next to it. If there is, try completely removing the moto driver package you have installed, and reinstalling it from the moto site

I had the same problem. Using the USB 2.0 ports in my laptop instead of USB 3.0 ports solved my issue. If that doesn't work and you want to make sure you are completely uninstalling the appropriate drivers and software before attempting a reinstall, try using Revo Uninstaller.

Well yeah sort of, I could have done that. However, The Win7 unit is a machine that serves another purpose on my network. It doesn't have any of my phone tools installed on it and didn't want to have to go back and forth between my main rig and this secondary machine. Keeping track of what is installed where gets to be a headache pretty quickly.
RSDLite, is a pretty basic tool, or at least I thought it was. But for the life of me, it just doesn't like Windows 8.1 on my main rig.
