remote from pc to phone?

Does anyone know of a app that you can remotely control your evo 4g device from the computer through a usb cable (3g would be fine too)??
I found an app that you can do it with wifi, but I do not have wifi available at my work location (the app is called htcportal).
I also found a screencast application:
http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
(but you can only view the screen, you cannot remotely control it w/out rooting, I do not want to root just for this app.)
while at work I like to plug my phone in and just keep it on my pc screen so I can type messages or whatever through the software instead of having to pickup the phone and/or disconnect the usb/charging cable.
Without root, probably not going to happen.
what is the app that controls it via wifi?
moto phone portal/HTC portal:

I just tried out the moto portal and I don't like it.
the interface is pretty neat, but you have to scroll to find your contact and I didn't see an option to show the screen and actually be able to navigate through the phone.

[Q] Broken screen smartphone, Possible remote camera?

I have an old Samsung Fascinate, And the screen is broken. Is there any way i could use this for a possible remote camera via wifi for recording aerial video or something, or would it just be worth it to fix the screen. The device is running 4.4.4 KitKat GeeWiz rom, rooted, and adb is enabled i believe.

Screen Mirroring missing..

I can't seem to find screen mirroring on my GS6.. At some point (Possibly before 6.0.1) it was there, and working fine. Any ideas? See attached..
Can anyone with a GS6 verify that it's supposed to be there?
You have to do it through quick connect now.

Hack Broken Android TV (Mi TV 49)

I have broken Mi 49 inch LED TV (Android). The screen is completely broken, nothing is visible except white light bleeding from cracks. The TV is completely working and audio can be heard when turned on.
As this is a fully functional Android device with rich connectivity options (WiFi, Ethernet, USB) I was thinking of savaging it into some sort of media server or remote desktop or something like that.
I searched a lot over the internet but was unable to find anything on how to video out from this device or how to enable any screen sharing over network (like VNC / RDP) but was not able to do anything as the screen is completely gone and there is no way I can interact with the device.
Here is what I have,
- No WiFi is configured on TV, cannot setup or connect to any network as screen is not working.
- ADB is not enabled, as said before cannot enable as not able to interact with device.
- Able to connect the TV over the Ethernet but except pinging it cannot do anything else. Tried open ADB ports but as it is disabled cannot do anything.
Please help me with this if you know way like how can I get shell access or how to hack my way into ADB or any way to video out from device.
Here is the product page of the device - https://www.mi.com/in/mi-led-smart-tv-4a-pro-49/
