Kudos to Otterbox - HTC Inspire 4G

Well, my Otterbox Commuter case had a crack in it, maybe from one too many drops. I called up otterbox to see what the warranty process was and believe it or not, it was as pain free as it could get.
They just needed a picture of the damage, a 4 digit code on the inside and my shipping information and they shipped out a brand new Commuter case via UPS that I just received today. No receipts, no sending in old product or nothing ... they just take care of you.
Just wanted to share. Otterbox is a stand up company and I will definitely do business with them in the future.

I agree. I had a similar issue with my OB case for my Nexus One. Followed pretty much the same process and poof, all fixed.
Yeah, may be more pricey than the elcheap-o cases, but the service is top notch, not to mention the quality!!

What case will you be getting, if any?
Post your $0.02, give a little review, discuss.
I'll start:
I ordered an otterbox commuter series case for the Desire HD, and am crossing my fingers that the Inspire and DHD are exactly the same. I feel like the commuter is the best balance between essential protection, without adding too much more bulk onto an already large device (to me, slimness is a deal breaking factor). When it comes in, and I have the phone on the 13th, I will test it out and report my findings. If it doesn't fit - I'm going to go with the case-mate 'barely there' case. The only reason I did not choose this case - strangely enough - is that it didn't cover the aluminum/glass seams on the front face of the phone.
Has anyone owned an otterbox before? Please comment on the quality, snugness, design etc - let me know what I should expect.
When I first got my Captivate I also ordered the Otterbox Commuter, however it was a bit too bulky for me since I like the aesthetics of the devices that I buy, and it hampered it too much.
With that said, I will first start out with a naked device, then I might move to a PhantomSkinz Chromatic skin. I love those things.
If I want a bit more protection, then I will definitely be getting a CaseMate Barely There too.
Heh, I also just ordered the OtterBox commuter case for DesireHD, it shipped out today. I'm hoping it fits ok, it should...
I love otterbox protection but hate the bulk. I will be going with a casemate gel skin and a gelaskin for the back along with an invisible shield for the screen

I am thinking it will fit perfectly - after doing more case research last night I found that Seidio is advertising cases for the Inspire/DHD. Unless they are purposely making a blanket case with some added "wiggle room", I believe they know for a fact the two devices share the same dimensions.
When did you order yours? I ordered mine last night (2/7/11, 11:30 pm) and have not received a shipping email yet.
Is the commuter really that bulky? I wonder how easy it is to return a case to them...
Edit: Just checked out their return policy. Seems pretty basic, except shipping costs are non refundable. If it turns out I don't like the case, I'll eat the charge for shipping it back to them (I used a coupon code that got 10% off/free shipping).
I will get the accessories package at the at&t store, but if that isn't enough, I may buy this: http://www.case-mate.com/HTC-Desire-HD/Case-Mate-HTC-Desire-HD-Clear-Armor.asp
What do you think?
Matt
I ordered mine on 2/07 at 2am, and got the shipping confirmation later the same day at 7pm... So that's about 17 hours, lol. I'm guessing that yours will probably ship out by 2/08 at some point? I'm pretty sure we'll get them by the end of the week. I used the same deal, 10% off with free shipping.
I have not seen the OtterBox Commuter cases in person, but they look a lot less bulky than the Defender cases! A friend has the Defender case for iPhone 4 and while it's nice, it's freakin' huge, haha. I think the Commuter series is supposed to be like a lighter version of the Defender, which is exactly what I want.
I always had the gel skin case made by boxwave. It's very easy take off and on. Feels good in your hand. It's doesn't add bulk. They also have one for desire hd which should fit the inspire. I am very excited about the release.

My experience with these cases are never good. While they seem great in theory, I have the way that without fail - dirt and lint get stuck on all of the edges of the plastic. Whether you keep it in your pocket or keep it in your hand, it has happened on every clear shield I have applied. Not to mention they are very tricky to apply to contoured surfaces. They protect from scratches, but don't drop it - your edge will still be exposed (which is probably what is going to hit the ground first)
I have only owned the zagg versions of these, so I don't know if the case mate ones are any different. The last one I owned was actually for an iPhone 4. While I was in the store, despite my previous experiences with them, I thought that it would be a good idea - since the front and back of the iphone 4 are completely flat. While it was a breeze to install, the plastic protector never quite took hold of the glass surface and when I would put it in my pocket, I would remove it to find the protector all disheveled over the phone. I eventually just ripped it off and found a slim hard case.

Thanks for the vid link, case looks awesome, doesnt seem bulky at all
Case
This case has great reviews on an htc desire site. Its made from TPU which is a little harder and less "sticky" than a gel case. Same material as my iphone's iskin case which I've had for over a year. I've dropped it multiple times, and no damage to the phone or case. Prob the best material IMO. Here is the link : http://www.eforcity.com/tpu-rubber-...04.html?efprcggbadtf110207=sc+gb+chtcdesisc04

Probably similar to the Flexishield case I have on my Hero. If so, they are great.
Just ordered that case, $3.79 shipped on eBay.
I plan on getting the seidio innocase II case holster combo for the inspire when it ships
Cool, my OtterBox Commuter case (for Desire HD) came in today! Took 3 days total with (free) shipping via USPS Priority.
The case is NICE! Way better than I expected and really not too bulky looking at all. I'd say no thicker than any other normal case. I like the combination of the rubber + hard shell. The case also has a nice texture to it as well. Now I just hope it fits the Inspire ok, lol.
I pre-ordered from Radio Shack, guy told me they were getting the Inspires in "early" for the 10th, because they're trying to compete with Verizon iPhone (which launches on the 10th). I have no idea if he's right or not, but will call on Thurs afternoon to check, and maybe I'll have a nice surprise...
I preordered mine through radioshack as well i hope they call me earlier than the 13th to come pick it up. i'm paying retail for the phone so i wonder if I'll get the 30 accessorie gift card? Any suggestions?
So we can buy any desire hd case and it will fit the inspire?

I ordered 4 of them from the shack and was told I would get the $30 card for each phone. Also not sure if you did this or not, but on the bottom of your preorder receipt theres a survey link , tkaes about 3 minutes, and at the end you print out a coupon for $10 off your next $40 purchase (picking up the phone )

Rugged case suggestions for Aussie Nexus 4

Hi,
I need a tough case (curse you Otterbox!) for my Nexus 4 as I will have junior staff using my phone like it's their own. I have seen some cases on ebay that are eligible for shipping to Australia, but they really don't look all that great.
I know finding something as good as an Otterbox, probably wont happen, but maybe something ALMOST as good? Maybe even with a cheaper price tag???
Found this on ebay after looking for something substantial myself, just so happens it comes from the land of Aus. http://r.ebay.com/7lVFKi
I haven't received it yet as I am in the UK and shipping will probably take a while, but it looks pretty sturdy from the images. Also, I made an offer of $11.50 (AU) for 1 and the seller accepted, so it's worth making an offer of that or less.

Hi, yes I have seen those before. I was told by another Nexus owner who bought tis case, that the stand makes it a very bulky case. Also the hard plastic on the outside seems to make the phone slippery. He would've preferred plastic inside, silicone outside.
But as I can't find anything else, I think I'll get this one for the time being. (Until Otterbox changes their mind. Yeah right!).
Thanks :good:

How about these?
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSK3LGN4K-BK
I'm also bummed that OtterBox didn't do a Commuter for the N4. The GNex one I have is amazing!
That Seidio one looks good, but the price is exxy. However, Otterbox will cost more ofcourse. A shame I can't get the red or blue one in Australia. I can get them via the official site ofcourse, but it will cost me a whopping 63 bucks lol. I can find the black one on pre-order at an Aussie online shop for $38,- though.
I just noticed that the Nexus are back in stock in Australia again today. As well as in France and Spain (those 2 countries sold out within 10 minutes again on the 31st). So it looks like Google has sorted out stock issues. Maybe this means Otterbox might start considering making a case seeing more Nexus 4's are now available for purchase.
I got this case http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-Nexus...ies&hash=item53f44d48f2&_uhb=1#ht_2855wt_1133 from another seller (paid a bit more) but it got to Australia in under 2 weeks. This case is awesome for the price! The only problem is the cut out for the proximity sensor is too small and blocks the sensor when in calls. Easily fixed with a drill bit though Was going to buy the ballistic sg case, but for a cheaper price, i'm happier with this. (I have had a ballistic sg on a galaxy s3 and it was awesome) I still prefer this case. More colour options too. You can even get one that looks like a beer if you're into that.

Cygnett WorkMate Evolution S4 Case Worth Checking Out

I am awaiting my order for the SGP Hybrid-Neo and I'll see how it performs when I receive it.
While waiting for the Spigen case to arrive, I've been looking around for other protective cases with a minimum of material, meaning I'd like the lowest profile protection possible, which Protects the S4. Not a minimalistic case which offers the minimalist of protection, because that defeats the reason I'm getting the case in the first place.
I came across this site which has, in their opinion, the top 15 cases:
http://www.techradar.com/us/news/ph...sung-galaxy-s4-case-15-to-choose-from-1149624
The WorkMate Evolution case peaked my interest, so I took a look at their site over here:
http://www.cygnett.com/smartphone/smartphone-samsung/samsung-galaxy-s4.html?___store=world
I watched their video, and it looked fine, but I'm not impressed by demonstration videos in general, especially ones demonstrated by the designer r/manufacturer of the item I'm purchasing, as there is a possibility of bias
It is 'Real World Usage' that counts, whether the video is accurate or not. I gotta check out the item for myself.
With the above being said, the description of the product and the concept appears that the end result would be a well made case of minimalistic construction with adequate protection.
I did some research and have found complaints about:
- the usb port fitment, the hole not being large enough. I watched the video and in the comment section it has been said that this issue has been resolved by the manufacturer with the updated cases, so I'm not too concerned about this issue as it appears to have been resolved.
- stiffness of power/volume buttons
I have sent an email to Cygnett, and I look forward to receiving their response.
I'll be ordering this case from Newegg, as they have very good shipping times and Return/Refund Policies with No return fees, including 45 days to return the item.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875983832
The case is available from Amazon, but they only Fulfill the orders, and one of the Sellers is in China/Hong Kong with delivery times up to 26 days or so. The other Seller has a 15% fee for Returns.
The case is also available form Cygnett, but the standard shipping times are up to 10 days.
Amazon Update:
The Cygnett WorkMate Evolution case now Ships from and is Sold by Amazon::good:
http://www.amazon.com/Cygnett-CY1194CXWOR-WorkMate-Case-Galaxy/dp/B00BXL7VKM
I'l let you know what I think of the Cygnett when I receive and use the case, including the response from Cygnett.
I just picked up my Cygnett WorkMate in Bright Blue color.
These are my first impressions, as I've only been using it for 2 hours:
1) nicely packaged in a clamshell as other cases are coming in these days.
2) after removing the WorkMate from its packaging, I was impressed with the build quality, and I really liked the color scheme.
3) the 2 part case came assembled, and the S4 'snapped in' quickly and snugly.
4) once the S4 was wearing it's new protection, I was like, 'this is some nice protection' and that I was confident, if dropped, my S4 had a good chance of surviving unscathed.
5) I felt that the WorkMate offers some real nice protection in a very minimalist format.
6) the protective lip surrounding the screen rises nicely above it and appears that it will offer nice protection with lip height to spare for a glass protector.
6) the power and volume buttons do have a stiff feeling to them, but once you get used to it in a short bit, it's not a problem at all. I would say that with use, the buttons will most likely give a little.
7) the usb port was a hair too small lengthwise for the head of the stock usb cable to fit into. After 40s of the minimalist of quick scraping of the 2 sides, the usb head fit perfectly. Can't tell any mod was even done.
I'll see how it goes using this case, as I just received it. I must say that I am impressed with its style, construction and perceived protection and durability in a minimalist form factor.
I say perceived because I just received the case
I have the same case in black. I like it a lot apart from the problem you mentioned with the usb cutout ... just got around to scraping the sides with a blade for a minute or so and now it's a perfect fit.
In terms of protection, I think the YouTube video pretty much speaks volumes about the effectiveness of these cases ... the phone survives a ten foot drop. I've dropped mine once from about four foot and there was no issue whatsoever.

This case is definitely a keeper. I've never used a case prior to this and the SPG Neo Hybrid. The reason being I didn't like weighing down and bulking up what is an otherwise light, thin, flat phone such as the S4, the S3, the S2 or whichever other device that slides into my pocket.
But when I dropped my S3 from about a foot onto concrete a couple of months ago, and the screen fractured, I was like, this is bs. But then the time wasted on trying to get a replacement from Asurion, who sent me a defective outta the box refurbished S3, I started looking for cases for the S4. The SGP is going back due to sagging of the neoprene after 3 days, in addition to it offering very little protection, but my S4 will be sporting the WorkMate.
I haven't applied my SGP Glas.tR Slim as of yet, and I'm thinking about whether I'm going to or not. It would add additional weight, and unless I drop my S4 and it hits the corner of something, I feel the WorkMate will protect the screen from most drops without having to add the glass screen protector. Plus I do have insurance. I gotta give it a little more thought.

I'm wearing a screen protector to guard against scratches. The workmate will protect against most face down drops onto a flat surface. It's rocks and stones which are the only thing you need to fear with this case and I doubt any screen protector and few if any cases can protect you if you drop your phone onto a sharp, pointy rock.

Hopefully I won't drop my S4 into a rock or edge of something that will bypass the protection of the WorkMate and damage the screen, if I choose not to install the glass protector. But Murphys Law will probably apply
I figure the WorkMate will protect the S4 under most circumstances, and in those instances where it may not, I have the insurance.
Sorry to keep posting repeatedly but I'm so stoked about this case. Overjoyed in fact. Most cases add to much bulk or provide too little protection. This bad boy provides excellent protection without adding significant bulk and as a bonus the textured back makes the phone much easier to hold on to.
I'm usually a bit of a case whore and change often but this time I'm staying put. The only other case that's really caught my eye is the Griffon Survivor. I'll probably end up getting that once is available just for those occasions where I really need the maximum protection. The rest of the time I'll be rocking my Cygnet Workmate.

Post away, like I seem to be doing
It seems that the Cygnett doesn't get a lot of publicity, at least in the USA.
I'm sure that is not the case in New Zealand, as the company a in Australia.
In addition to the possible lacking of advertisement, getting the case can be an issue for some.
Amazon has a couple of sellers, but it is not Sold and/or Shipped directly from Amazon. One seller appear to be overseas and can take over 20 days to receive, and the other Seller has a 15% penalty for Returns. Amazon only shows a few reviews for the case which means sales are low. The aforementioned may be some of the reasons for the lack of sales via Amazon. I purchased the WorkMate from Newegg, which is where I suggest others, at least in the USA to purchase from. Even Newegg has no reviews.
As mentioned, I wasn't a case guy, but this case changed my mind about cases.
It just screams out Protection in a very minimalist format. Hey, they have it in Blue which I couldn't resist
Update:
Is this the other case you mentioned?
http://store.griffintechnology.com/survivor-skin-for-samsung-galaxy-s4
The case has a nice look to it, and although it seems to offer more coverage to the top and bottom of the S4 screen, I don't know if it offers better protection than the WorkMate overall. The price of $18 is cheap enough, but I don't know the quality of the case. Once in hand, a better determination can be made.

You can just walk into your local chain store and pick up the cygnet cases here. Surprised me ... they don't normally have the best cases. The salesman preached the virtues of the case, I believed him and luckily he was calling it straight.
You've linked the survivor skin, I'm waiting for the survivor.
http://store.griffintechnology.com/survivor-with-belt-clip-for-samsung-galaxy-s4
The skin is to the survivor what the Otterbox commuter is to the Defender. Basically the survivor is the Defender done right. I've heard that the Defender has clips on the phone case which mate to the belt holster and that these clips can smash off in a fall. No such design flaw on the survivor and it has padded flaps to cover all the ports and the camera. Had one on my s3, it added a lot of size to the phone but man that thing felt indestructible.
I don't need that kind of protection every day but there are still occasions where I really want that assurance that my phone has the utmost protection.
Sent from my GT-I9505
Thanks. I'll take a good look at it later, as I gotta get some shut eye
I read the description and it definitely looks like an anti-destrutive case with those listed specs.
Much easier for sure to get the Cygnett where you are. They definitely have a larger customer base there.

I just found this for you:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zcv9mCVIB-c&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Btw, I'm extremely satisfied with my WorkMate, even though I haven't dropped my S4 as of yet
But as I mentioned previously, this case is very well built, and I feel confident it'll protect my S4 in case of any unfortunate drops
Btw, you mentioned the Survivor.
If you're referring to the Cygnett, it's the Evolution.
If your referencing the T-Mobile case, I'm not familiar with it.
4 week follow up
Well, it's been about 4 weeks since I took possession of the Cygnett WorkMate Evolution case in Bright Blue and:
- the case looks as good as it did the first day I received it* (see below)
- the case fits as well as the first day. There is nothing that will stretchout, etc.
- *the light Grey back, when you hold it at an angle to the light, you can see certain areas where there is a slight lightness to the Grey, but only at certain angles. The cause is most likely from natural oils in the skin, as the slight blemish ocurrs where you hold the phone the most.
- I have not dropped the phone as of today, and don't expect to, but if I do, I'm confident that the phone will be very much protected
- although the case adds slight bulk to the S4, as the S4 is so very slim and light without the case, it fits comfortably in my front pocket, and my pants are not of the baggy variety
And there you have it.
My overall rating of this case is 9.8/10 (due to the very hard to notice blemish)
I highly recommend it to those who are looking for excellent protection for their S4, in a minimalist form factor.
This is a case that when you see it, hold it and put your S4 in it, you will be confident that your S4 will be very well protected.
I've updated the op to reflect the fact that the Cygnett case is now Sold by and Ships from Amazon:

Here is an update regarding the discoloration of the Grey back of the case:
I've just taken a couple of pics tonight of the discoloration that the medium grey material has sustained. While it doesn't affect the protectiveness of the case, it does affect the aesthetics.
The discoloration of the case has occurred where my hand/fingers grip the back of the case the most.
When the Cygnett was my edc, the discoloration gradually occurred over the course of approx. 6 weeks. It looked great when it was new, but not that great after only a month and a half.
I just sent an email to Cygnett 's US office regarding this issue. I'm hoping this issue is just an exception, but if it's a material flaw, hopefully it has been resolved.

Update:
I didn't receive a response to my email so I called the phone number for Cygnett's US office.
Spoke with a very nice rep, and explained my issue.
She is sending out a replacement shell, and gave me her personal email address.
I sent her my shipping info, and she responded that she just shipped out the replacement.
Excellent customer service:good:

The gray backing has a wear patten on mine.
I took a closer look and in between the tiny raised bumps, the material is worn, which creates the 'discolored' look pattern which is more perceptible at certain angles.
Still a case which appears to offer excellent protection, although I haven't dropped mine yet .

Spigen cases gone from amazon?

did they stop selling them on amazon?
yes, they pulled them, probably from complaints
just look at the reviews
Spigen quality has gone down since I last remember them.
I ended up returning two cases for the LG g2 which scratch so easily, and looking at the reviews of the Note 4 cases I see nothing has changed
My tough armor case seems decent but I'm glad I didn't get any others.
I've noticed that I have some small scratches on my bezel after using my neo hybrid.

My sob story:
Had my Spigen Neo Hybrid on order since September 25th or so. Noticed around Oct 18 they were in stock on Amazon, shipping, and 4 bucks less (but mine still didn't ship). Complained and Amazon sent Spigen a msg for me asking for $4 refund. It ships next day but no refund. Not even a reply from Spigen.
I finally receive it around Oct 22 and get my phone on the 23rd. As soon as I realize I can't make calls because it covers my mic (Verizon) I take pictures and send a message to them. Almost a week later they send me a canned response saying they are redesigning the TPU.
Decide to return it on the 25th and Spigen denies return due to "outside return window". Huh? I ordered in September but they didn't ship for a month (until I had to bug them about it) and they deny my return. I filed a claim with Amazon and Amazon immediately gave me a refund in Amazon credit, no questions asked.
I will never, ever buy another Spigen product.

How long did your A-Z claim take? I filed one the other day, just waiting...
It said if I chose Amazon gift card I would have it in my account in 3 hours. It took about an hour. If you choose refund to your credit card they have to go back to the seller and it can be days.

In had the exact same issue. Took them a month to ship the case, I used the case for ten days, could not take the flimsy stand, and the poor hear rate monitor cutout on my tough armor. I requested a refund 10 days after receiving it. Spigen denied my claim for being outside the return window. I guess, don't ever pre order a spigen case as the warranty/return date starts from the actual order date, not the date the item is received (even though they ship super slow mail).
Amazon refunded my payment as a gift card (after filing a claim), although it hasn't shown up yet in my account.
amazon seem to have started stocking them in the UK store.
Good, hopefully they will get the design correct before they start dumping them on the public again.
Kick stand is horrible. But everything else about my tough armor is good so far.

I've had my Neo Hybrid on my Note 4 for a bit over a week and have taken it on and off countless times. No scratches at all on my phone, already came up big saving my phone from a face down pancake fall from about 3.5 feet on to my brick walkway. Only issues are the hole for the headphone jack may not fit higher end connectors and the HR Monitor does not work per their instructions . I'm guessing the latter is why the've pulled the product. Also, the posts I've read regarding scratching on the bezel were not from the Neo Hybrid., but from the thinner form fitting cases like the Thin Fit/Ultra.
I believe it was removed from amazon because spigen may have fixed the VZW n4 issue, if you go to spigen site, it no longer has a note of carrier compatibility under the case descriptions. I sent them an email but no response as of yet.
3 out of 5 cases I bought last month were complete ****, very disappointed.
Then they were tons of complains about scratched phones etc, I think its not the case's fault for that, the design of the note 4 is nice looking but easily scratched.
Has anyone ordered the tough armor case since they restocked on 11/10? I was about to pull the trigger on ordering one of these bad boys but the complaints I've read so far has me second guessing them.
Is the kickstand really that flimsy?
The microphone hole issue fixed for the Verizon variant?
bezel scratches easily still?

I have the original... The kick stand seems flimsy however it's never not done is job nor failed in any way. I use the kick stand constantly ! The fix for this case for the Verizon phones should be super simple seeing how it is only TPU on the bottom. After drilling a hole in the correct spot I didn't even feel the urge to return.
Verizon N4 : Thank me if I helped ya

Thanks for the reply. Currently I'm using an Otterbox Defender case and a bit torn on this and the spigen. The Otterbox definately offers superior protection, but it adds so much bulk. The spigen looks like it does the job, UT no protection for the front and I should not have to drill a hole for the mic cutout to align. May have to just stick with the Otterbox case for now especially since winter is approaching.

Just to let you know I have a co-worker that has the Neo Hybrid case and they have already sent him an up-to-date TPU replacement and his is just fine now. I'm sure any they are selling now with have the upgraded TPU cutouts and not have any problem.
Ok just ordered a tough armor case and will arrive on Saturday. Will report back my findings.

Official Google case review and warning

Hi
Thought I would post my experiences of the official google case in more detail.
TLDR short version: It isnt worth the price, scratches easily and could easily scratch the phone. Approach with caution or not at all.
I bought the clear google case alongside my phone today. The case is not worth the premium cost. I know some believe that OEM cases are always over priced however I am not one of those people and tend to prefer official products.
Look
The case is not completely clear it is two tone, clear gloss at the top and matte frosted at the bottom. It looks OK especially if you want to preserve the two tone look of the design choice.
Size
Size is good, it is slim with a slight 'lay on the table' lip.
Feel
It feels very cheap, I would advise against purchasing the case on this issue alone. It has a slight 'lay on the table' design however it is this when your hand rubs against it that feels the most cheap and flimsy, not at all premium, more like $2 case.
Durability
Zero. Mine has already scratched on the gloss portion. I have had the case on for a couple of hours, on a desk and in my hand, as sterile and environment as would be possible. What is worse is the case is scratched on the inside. I only put the case on once and was careful to clean it before hand to check for any manufacturing debris. It hasnt been in a phone or a pocket yet. I am aware of course that debris can over time get into a hard case and you must mitigate against this but there has not been time for this.
Conclusion
Looks OK. Feels cheap and will scratch easily. However ultimately I wouldn't be comfortable putting my phone back in this case. I would be afraid that if this can happen so easily, the phone itself would get scratched up while in this case in no time at all.
I reached out to google to provide this feedback. There was nothing they could do and suggested I post feedback on the google forum as google listens to that. I do not see the merit in it that and despite this post, I am not really a complainer. I do however see merit in posting a review which may assist other people. It is after all an expensive phone going into a not cheap case.
TC
Any idea if the picture case is the same material? I ordered one of these a week ago.
@thetonyclifton
Can you send some pics of the case, the phone in it etc.
I agree, I got the case for Pixel XL. I like how slim it is, almost like there isn't a case on it. But mine appears to have some wear after just a day and a half. Sucks to have to look for a new case after dropping $30 on this Google one

I remember when i bought the nexus 6p and got the 35 dollar silicone case along with it. It is absolute waste, within a week material started getting faded and scratching. So i explained this to google and they allowed me to return it. I ended getting the Spigen Rugged Armor case for half the price and the quality is 100 times better. Same goes to my Pixel XL i already received the Spigen Rugged Armor case for it now just awaiting for the phone itself

I was disappointed in the build and value, then disappointed by the easy damage and then terrified it would damage the phone. A really bad case in my experience and I normally really like OEM cases. I got a Spigen liquid crystal and while it is a bit bigger and all glossy, it is a much better case for about a 5th of the price.

I didn't buy the case from Google I bought it from a bricks and mortar phone store who wouldn't return the case because it julooked like I scratched it, it did have a scratch on there as I said but that was half of my complaint with the case. I contacted Google as the manufacturer and they didn't want to know. I didn't expect my money back as I didn't pay them but did expect them to offer me a voucher or replacement to try and make amends.

Sorry, no, just because I genuinely do not want to put my phone back in there again. Its cheap and scratchy, it makes a disconcerting scrapping noise against the sides of the phone.

Wait - you bought the Official Google case from a B&M phone store? Which store was it? (surprised to hear that it the official case is available from 3rd party stores already - are you sure it is a genuine one? Is it possible that the store sold you a "case for the Google Pixel phone")
what case are you talking about, this one ?

It is the official case. I bought it from Carphone Warehouse in the UK who are the official seller of the Pixel in UK. That is why they had it in stock at launch.

That actually looks pretty darn thin. Thanks for posting photos. How much of a lip does it add to the fingerprint scanner, would you say?

Ha. The new standard of measuring pixel case thickness. It's like the only thing I look for in pictures

I just filled my RMA too.
For a 45$ case, it's all scratched in under a week of getting in and out of my pants... It shouldn't scratch like that.
I've already order a Spigen one for 14$ instead of the 45$...
I can't add more pictures to my post but here's the scratch. I didn't put it on any hard surface, it was in my pants all day unless I used it, in my hand at home.
45 dollars for a cheapo silicone case??
OMG, they should send you a dinner ticket with it for that price..
Check Amazon for excellent clear silicone cases for under 10 bucks

It's not in silicone but some hard plastic
I ordered the official one because the N6 one was a nice case and all others had a long delivery, about a month but I've found some Spigen that had 1 day delivery.
I just got this one for 8 bucks, and its really nice...

I'm done overpaying for cases...
agreed x100000. The official slim case was nowhere near worth the price and I only bought it because I a case on day one. Currently looking for cases now to replace immediately
