hello everyone..
i noticed alot of people on the forum are looking for a way to 'sim' unlock the s710, is it impossible. i don't think so..how can people other than HTC or orange do it then?? is there no body on xda-developers who can do it?? its a shock!

Fresh off the wagon with Vodafone UK, I have a HTC Sensation, unfortunately its S-ON so locked up
Currently im guessing from what ive read that S-On devices are not capable of Root?
I know with a locked bootloader, custom roms are out of the question... Which is fine (For now while I still have my DHD)

I don't understand why have you opened a thread for this?
You are correct, unless htc unlocks it or a dev finds an exploit as in older devices, we are without root.

Hi Guys,
I dropped my desire S today( I know I got clumsy hands , the glass looks fine and the touch is also working fine as usual, but the LCD image seems to be damaged partially in right side from top to bottom...several lines appear and the display is in black and white(negative image)... :'(
My Question is Can I send this back to HTC?, FYI it is rooted and S-offed, How much will they charge? Will the root affect the repair, if not is there a way I can S-ON it back. Please advise or guide me.

there a lot of guides for returning your device to S-ON. You can also flash an appropriate RUU which i believe returns your device to S-ON and stock
also posting in the Q&A probably would've gotten you more help.
I'm sorry I can not solve your problem, but I agree with dan-fish and I'm sure nobody will blame you if you post this in the Q&A section again. You'll get a solution very quick I think

Can anyone tell me what the unlock on the HTC website actually does. I thought it would allow me to flash custom ROMs but it does not seem to do that. Sorry if this makes me sound ignorant but I kind of am in this aspect. I am new to customizing ROMs to my tablet and phone. I have unlocked my HTC Inspire 4g and gained s-off but the tablet is proving to be more difficult.

Thanks to globetron I found how it works now just got to get to work. Guess I need to read before I start asking.
tips on getting posts
Any ideas to get my post count up so I can access ROMs I am new to this so I really cant help out anyone yet but I cant really think of many questions to ask that are relevant to anything useful. I dont want to cheat the system and cheapen the hard work that goes into this forum but at the same time I want to be able to utilize it too. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well figured out that HTC Wildfire S is not so easy to root got it unlocked and tried to get it to s-off but no dice any suggestions would be helpful.
