how to unroot and return to stock recovery
this is only until a better method arrives.
step 1-download the stock nandroid restore posted by TGA_Gunnman and follow the instructions he provides( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048274) . this will get your phone back to stock, but you're still rooted and have Titanium Installed and Rom Manager Installed.
you'll also have back any bloatware\tmobile apps you may have deleted.
step 2
you'll need to have nvflash setup properly and the NVidia boot-recovery driver installed. good instructions can be found here http://android.modaco.com/content/l...lash-setup-instructions-drivers-links-active/
step 3- download the stock recovery from here http://mirror.dal.tdrevolution.net/ctso/g2x/part5.img
step 4- place the part5.img in your nvflash folder.
step 4a- download clockwork recovery test2-- http://mirror.dal.tdrevolution.net/ctso/g2x/nvflash-recovery.tgz .
in the folder download of cwm recovery test2, i took all the files except for test2.img and nvflash and put them in my nvflash folder.
step 5- power off your phone. take out the battery. unplug the usb cable from the phone, you can leave the other end plugged in to the pc.
hold down both volume buttons on the phone. while holding them down, plug the usb cable in to your phone. you should hear the windows device connected sound. that's good. you'll see nothing on the phone. you can let go of the volume buttons now.
step 6- hold shift and right click an empty area inside the nvflash folder. select "open command window here".
if you can't do that, cd to your nvflash folder.
now, copy and paste this into the command window...
nvflash --bct 1108_Hynix_512MB_H8TBR00U0MLR0DM_300MHz_final_emmc_x8.bct --bl fastboot.bin --download 5 part5.img
press enter. if it gets to "part5.img sent successfully", you are now back to stock recovery. unplug the phone and place the battery back in. holding vol.down and power will format\hard reset your phone now.
don't forget to uninstall titanium and rom manager.
step 8- use superoneclick to unroot your phone.
if anyone would like to elaborate\correct anything on here, please pm me and i'll edit the post. thanks
Did you test this method?
I'm trying it right now, I'll let you know the result.
absolutely, a few times. i would never post something i haven't thoroughly tested.
i forgot to add something to the instructions. in the folder download of cwm recovery test2, i took all the files except for test2.img and put them in the nvflash folder. my bad. try that if it doesn't work. going to edit op now.

Off topic but have you been able to get adb to recognize your device while in recovery? Is it me or are the LG drivers funky?

and holding vol. down and power will perform a factory rest afterwards. unless that's been fixed.?
it's been noted here many times that doesn't work. if you get stuck in a bootloop, you can't restore backups. you'll still have to nvflash.

yes you can restore backup...if you get stuck in a bootloop then all you need to do is do a factory reset by holding vol. down and power. download rom manager again and boot into clockwork then you can flash your backup.
as of right now i didn't nvflash. i like the option of having my stock recovery just in case. i also used clock work to flash paul's patch. personally i wouldn't use the nvflash method just yet as there is no roms out that require the nvflash method.

Did learn that wont remove root or superuser though and they say it is good for the battery anyway so what the heck i guess but I have almost got everything restored and I dont really feel like doing it again. Is there any other way to tell if it worked?? I dont think it did since the phone did nothing.

unplug your phone from the usb. leave the other end plugged in to the pc.
TAKE OUT THE BATTERY! hold down both volume buttons while plugging in the usb. you should hear the windows device connected sound. let go of the volume buttons.
open the command window by right clicking an empty area inside the nvflash folder, select "open command window here" . copy and paste this into the command window nvflash.exe --bct E1108_Hynix_512MB_H8TBR00U0MLR-0DM_300MHz_final_emmc_x8.bct --bl fastboot.bin --download 5 recovery-star-test2.img .
make sure there are no spaces between emmc and _x8.bct. copying and pasting has done this to me.
now press enter on your keyboard. you should get a software update screen on your phone. and command prompt should say something like test2 sent successfully. unplug the usb. put the battery back in. press volume down and power AND HOLD BOTH FOR AT LEAST 10-15 SECONDS. you should now be in custom recovery.

Not that I've seen. I was wondering if it might be possible if you manually copied the update.zip to the _externalSD. Unfortunately I can't test this without reverting back to stock recovery, and I'm far to lazy for this
I'm pretty sure it's not possible without doing this, however, as recovery has no access to the internal SD (which is where Rom Manager puts the update.zip by default).

numbaoneforeva said:
e. At this moment, we're going to install clockwork recovery v4.0.0.9, thanks to Paul O'Brien/MoDaCo, the gods lol. First, turn your device off/pull the battery out, thats what i do. Then hold volume down button, camera button, and power button at the same time. It should show you the skateboarding androids, and at the top it should say -Revolutionary- in purple. If it doesn't, don't continue, retry all steps or message me. Then plug your phone into the computer, and using the power button as the selection button, push the power button as your highlighted over FASTBOOT. It should say FASTBOOT USB at the top in red now.
Now believe it or not you already have the file you need in your "root mt4gs" folder. Your now going highlight all the files in your "root mt4gs" folder to the root of your hard drive. Click on My computer, double click on your c: drive, and paste those files right on there, do not copy the folder, or put these files in a folder!! Now your going open a command prompt. {Hold the windows key and tap r}. Then type "cmd" without the parenthesis and it should open up a black box.
Now type cd\
Your command prompt should now just say c:\> thats what you want it to say
Now your going to type adb.exe
You should see a whole bunch of words flash on the command prompt, the last couple words should say "bug tags are printed." That means your right on track.
From here, you are going to type in fastboot devices
it should have the serial number of your device and the word fastboot right next to it!
Now, here comes the tricky part that i got stuck at, but i know you can do it! Now this will work if you put the files exactly where i told you to put them. you now will type fastboot flash recovery c:\clockworkmod.4.0.0.9.img
it should say " sending 'recovery'
okay
writing recovery'
okay
finished. total time: (mine is 10.400s)
Now to make sure it's intalled, on your phone, click power button and you should now see fastboot, recovery, factory reset, simlock, and imagecrc as options, use your volume button to go down to recovery, and click power button.
You should now see clockworkmod recovery 4.0.0.9.

Hello,
When the phone is in recovery mode, the file explorer won't show up with your nexus files... The fact that a sound is coming proves that the phone is being detected...
If you have setup a working adb environment you can follow what @gee2012 has said and sideload the kernel and flash it... If you haven't then download the android sdk and make sure you have downloaded the usb_driver package as well...

First, don't yet think your phone it's bricked. The actual solution is to get the proper driver on the computer. Remember that nexus 5 does not have Sdcard and there's not way to mount to the computer via recovery. Only ADB PUSH and ADB SIDELOAD will put a Rom into your phone.
You have to check on device manager to see the status of the driver. if t shows as Nexus 5, you will have to update the driver to and adb compatible one. If it says ADB........ then, you are good to go
EDIT: @vin4yak, one day I'll go to ninja school too
1.) If your device is actually bricked then a USB cable will do you absolutely no good. Fixing a "bricked" device is something that will need to be JTAG'd for it to work again. I think you might be mistaken about what a bricked device is. Its pretty hard to brick a nexus device so I highly doubt you're device is bricked.
2.) You have to get into fastboot mode. Just search for how to do so. Then you can flash the stock img's through fastboot and you'll be back in business. I have no clue about what drivers you'll need for your setup as I haven't run windows in 9 years or so. Just get the drivers, fastboot, and get your nexus back.
Why don't you just flash a boot.img from the stock rom? Or going back to stock?
You cannot mount sdcard to the pc in recovery. You have to use adb push or adb sideload.
To make adb work in recovery you need naked usb drivers 0.73.
Then you can adb sideload a rom, or push a rom to /sdcard.
Anyway download my attachment, put your phone to fastboot mode and double click on flash.bat then report me back
Check out this thread. If you can boot into recovery, then you should be able to boot into fastboot and restore your N5 back to stock.

Thank you, I read online and it told me to do the exact same thing. I downloaded the 2 packages, and then i plugged my usb in to the computer and nexus 5, but the computer did NOT recognize my Nexus 5. Is it because it doesn't recognize my Nexus 5 because it is in bootloader mode?
Thanks

Go to CWM and connect ur phone to PC, then choose Mount and Storage>Mount USB Storage. Your phone will be mounted on PC. Then copy the CM11 zip and Gapps to phone SD and flash them. Flashing Gapps is not necessary though IMO.

I got my phone into bootloader, than selected recovery mode. It says ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.5 at the top, and a bunch of options below. I plugged in my USB, and it made the noise that indicates that it is connected, but it does not show me the internal storage of my Nexus 5. What am I doing wrong?

it wont. you need to use adb to move whatever files you want to your phone. it wont show you whats already there. for that, you can use your recovery to see whats zip files are in your storage(in twrp you can also look what other files are there, not sure of cwm recovery.

start here, read lower down, about adb http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47033844&postcount=1
use the adb push command the op lists. he also put in a link about how to set up adb. im sorry, im at work and dont have time to walk you through adb. if you google adb or search adb here in xda, you will find a ton of info. but what you really need is the adb push command to push your files to your phone.

Please take your time and read this:

You turn most people off by asking for them to type detailed directions when they already exist. Not being nasty but read.

adb push them to your phone(while you are in recovery), then flash them in your recovery. dont worry about wiping anything, just flash them(dirty, without wiping, so you dont lose any data).

I have adb downloaded, and also cm11 and GAPPS downloaded too. What is next?
one post says you have adb installed, the other says you have it downloaded.. which one, lol?
if its installed, all you have to do is adb push the files to your phone. when ypu push them, be sire to write the exact name of the files when you push them.
first, make sure adb sees your device when its plugged in via usb, type.. adb devices
2nd, push your files.. adb push cyanogenmodromfilename.zip and then adb push gapps.zip

Hey how did you flashed cm the first time?
hello everybody,
so my phones speakers stopped working and I couldn't fix them so I went to twrp recovery and executed a factory reset. This resulted in the device hanging at the boot screen. I then spent half an hour trying to get the drivers working and when it finally saw the phone and I wanted to sideload the 33R zip it just gave me this long list with possible command (see screenshot attached).
in fastboot it's not seeing the phone for some reason
I have access to the following:
TWRP Recovery
Fastboot
Any idea on how to get my phone working again?

First on your PC try typing adb devices it should return the device serial number in the command prompt.
If it does then in TWRP click advanced, ADB Sideload, then swipe the blue arrow.
Then on your PC command prompt type adb sideload "ROM/File Name.zip" without the quotes.
It should load from there.

Ok try adb push "ROM/File.zip" /sdcard
That will put the rom zip on the root of your sdcard and you can flash from there.

After it shows my device id number it says recovery, yours says host? Are you doing this with TWRP booted?
Hold on it looks like you need to update your drivers...

Try uninstalling the ones you have and installing this one.
https://github.com/koush/UniversalAdbDriver
Good luck man, I've got to get back to work.
I know the adb push "ROM/File.zip" /sdcard works because I tested on my phone prior to posting.
One last thought is your SDK might need to be updated as well.

Currently trying it on my laptop which has a fresh reinstall, removing the drivers completely will take too long.
Your driver saw it as a google galaxy nexus adb Interface, when I used adb devices it didn't see it.
EDIT: when I go to reboot it says that there is no os installed so yea...
Another Edit: I will try this driver when I get home and report back. OnePlus adb drivers windows
I managed to fix it using the oneplus one toolkit by manudroid
