Okay, so i had Infused 2.3.0 (i think that was the number, it's the latest one anyway). I followed the instructions to the T. I had no issues.
About 3 or 4 days later i woke up and my phone had 1% battery. I sent a text, and then locked the phone. I came back to plug it in, and tried to see if it had any battery. None, it was dead. No biggie. I plug it in, and i get the circle loading thing. Then the battery symbol appears (charging). Then the phone goes black and the circle loading thing appears again. Then it keeps restarting. and going back to the circle loading thing. Over... and Over... Then i tried charging it for a while to see if the battery was just really low. No dice.
I put my girlfriends battery from her infuse 4g and it had 90%. Did the same thing. Circle loading thing, restart, circle loading thing, etc. Then i tried to put it into recovery. No dice, it would just keep restarting. Sometimes the Samsung logo would appear, and then it would just restart samsung, black screen, samsung, black screen, then eventually back to the circle.
I got it in red recovery ONCE, i was able to scroll down twice, and then the phone restarted. I couldn't get it back into red recovery.
I thought i had bricked my phone somehow. So i tried to use GTGs unbrick. I loaded it up fine (i'd done it with my girlfriends phone before to restore it to stock). It took me about 15 tries to get it into download mode. It was in download mode for long enough so that the program recognized it, and it started the download to restore it, then the phone turned off.
Now the phone won't even turn on. I can't put it in download mode, i can't put it into recovery, i can't get it to do ANYTHING.
What the hell did i do? What caused the original issue?

Does your phone still have warranty?
What the hell didn't you do.
Ok well first of all it is not Infused 2.3 it is 2.2.3. Anyway that is not the point, did you have juice defender installed? I do not think it could have done anything, but maybe. What is the latest app/tweak/anything you installed? Finally, have you tried holding both volume buttons and power button when trying to turn it on? This problem you are having seems extremely odd. Try plugging it in.

2.2.3, thanks. I was too lazy to look it up. No, I didn't have juice defender. I used Lookout, that's all.
The latest thing I installed was the 2.2.3 update for Infused. I updated Pandora, and that's all.
Yes, i've done that with the volume buttons.

Yes. Won't turn on.
Well, best thing you can do now is see what ATT can do about it. The worst that can happen is they say they can not do anything, which you then can keep trying the ultimate unbrick over again. This helped someone on an earlier thread.
Same thing happened to me. Take the battery out. Make sure USB cable is unplugged. Hold down both up and down volume buttons plug in USB into ur phone and PC and put battery back in. This will put you in download mode and it will stick do u can return to stock. Good luck

I'll try this again, but it didn't work last time. No matter what i did.
EDIT:
Tried again multiple times. It just won't turn on.
I think you have a hardware failure of some sort... Take it back to AT&T for warrany service.
You probably didn't do anything to it - just bad luck and coincidence.

I am running CleanROM 2.1 with the CleanKERNEL and AOSP Blue Mod Theme on my GS3. It is overclocked to 1.70Ghz .It has been working great for the past 3 days or so I have had it set up like this. I took the OTA before re-rooting and reunlocking and before ever putting any ROMs on the phone. I had the phone on my car charger on my way to work this morning, after draining a bunch of battry streaming F1 practice. When I got to work, I pull the phone off the charger and we inside. When I went to check my phone, it was black. And still is. The phone was working fine while on the charger, but now I can not get it to respond to anything. I have tried to reboot, reboot to recovery, pull the battery, and have it plugged in. The only thing happening is the phone becomes warm while plugged in.
I have no flashed anything for 3 days or so. I don't know what could have happened. Any thoughts?? Please help. I am kinda freaking out right now.

This happened to me a few times but with a slightly different scenario. If i tried to power up my phone, it would give a brief vibration and then show me a battery sign with a big 0 on it (green battery image). No matter what i did it wont boot up. And my battery wasn't at 0% when it happened. I was able to get into recovery and restore a backup.
In your case, check if there is any power in your battery (or borrow someone's who has an s3) and see if you are able to boot into recovery.
Hope you are able to fix it. Good Luck.

Then it might be your battery as the other person mentioned. The bettery is either bad or the device is not charging it. Have you tired different chargers as well? It can even be your charging port...
Odin mode and recovery have nothing to do with your ROM when you boot into them. If you boot into that, it boots before loading your Rom.
Go to the Verizon store and just ask if you can try their battery from the demo unti or something if you do not know anyone else with an S3.

Don't want to sound like a broken record, but have you tried keeping your power button pressed for 5-10 seconds? Its weird but the brief vibration I got in my case was when I had it pressed for a good 5-7 seconds and then nothing would happen. Just checking if you have the same symptoms.

Yeah, I have held it for 1 minute+. I am really lost on what could have caused this. It seems to me, and my uneducated mind, it may be a hardware issue. I just don't know what or why.
I just got home from work, still with no luck. I guess if I can't get life into it, Verizon can't either?

This is kinda where I am at. I feel like it is a hardware problem more then a software problem aka not my fault.
So what was the final outcome on this?
This happened to me a few weeks ago. I had my GS3 for about a month. Everything was stock. Never rooted or unlocked.
Its a hardware issue.
If you return your phone to Verizon they will give you a refurb.
I believe the phone gets sent to Verizon not Samsung. Since I wasn't rooted it didn't matter for me, but since you can't even boot into ODIN at the store they won't be able to tell that your phone is rooted so they will order you a refurb straight away.
Its possible that when it gets to the Verizon testing facility they will discover that its been rooted and expect you to pay full price for the replacement. I have no idea.
Good Luck
Sorry for not updating. I ended up getting a replacement phone from Verizon. Looks like some other people are running into the same problem.

Hi all, I'm experiencing a problem with my nexus 5 at the moment.
I was using it until the battery got to 1%, then I turned off the screen and plugged it into the charger. But apparantly I was too late because the phone was turned off, so I turned it on.
After the google logo a firmware update screen appears. At the top it says Firmware Update, and below an USB-logo it says: "Do not unplug the USB connection until the progress is complete". Below that there's a progress bar, and below that there's a square/box with 'B1' in it.
I have no idea why my phone wants to update. I'm running 4.4.2 completely stock android, not rooted. No images of ROMs or stuff like that anywhere on my phone. It's still on 0%, and has been for the last 20 minutes. (at first I thought it might be waiting for a minimal battery charge to perform the update but you'd think it would be enough by now).
Does anyone know what this is or how to fix this?
I'll see if I can revive my old phone to make a picture of the screen

Try restarting the phone. The low battery might have caused the update screen to appear. The wall plug is not a USB connection.

hi everyone i need your help i mistake firmware for my phone nexus x5 h791 it is 16 GB but i was flash to 32 GB after died
Hi everyone, so yesterday I got home, and like everyday I dropped it on the wireless charger. After about 2 hours I took it and it has turned off itself and doesn't react to my button presses or anything. I tried holding Power, Power+Vol Up, Power+Down, Power+Vol up+Vol down, charged it overnight but it still doesn't work. Is there anything else left to do? (Bootloader is unlocked, twrp recovery + franco kernel and stock fw, it was working for like 2 weeks with no crashes).
If you've already tried holding the power button for 20 seconds it sounds like rma is the answer.
Does your computer recognizing your phone?
It does not, the phone isn't turned on, how could computer recognize it? (btw. The phone takes the power from the wall it seems, cause the power cord gives a noise when only it's pluged in without cable to the phone, then I can take it out, it still makes noise, and if i plug the phone into it, it stops making the noise)

It can recognize a phone even if it's not turned on,as adb,and then you can flash recovery, kernel and etc, using fastboot commands.
So go to device manager and see if recognized as adb,if yes, you're good to go,and try to flash stock rom and recovery.
Also you can try to reboot into bootloader using fastboot reboot command.

Oh, and one more thing. When I hold power button it makes noise like this: h\ttp\s://w\ww.dropbox.c\o\m\/s/d3e0rqtlzm7x2ig/N5noise.mp3 (Remove all the \ from the link)
Barely hearable so I just accidentally noticed it.

When I connect, there's no power in the phone at all so USB port never acknowledges connection.
Did you try plugging it in (ensure its really plugged in) and holding the device power button for a good 10-15 seconds? I know its a silly thing to ask.

It's not a silly question but yes I tried the 'hold power button for 30 sec 5x' suggestion from OPO but nothing. Thanks

I have the EXACT same problem.
I went to enter a wifi network password and settings kept crashing, so restored from a TWRP backup... and the boot up animation was just ongoing, over and over. (3 hours) - Now, when I plug it in occasionally, I get an error saying it can't start up.. please charge first. (But it doesn't charge and I get nothing).

Just going to have to RMA it... Which means I will have to buy another tempered glass screen and wait 7 days+ by the time they give me an RMA number, then maybe a further 7+ days for them to send me another one out.
arghh!
Wrong thread

Whenever I try to send a text, I get the "x-app has been sending a large amount of texts" even though I haven't been sending many. Anyone know how I can fix this?

That sounds like the same problem for sure. Phones been on the charger all night but it's dead. I have not heard from one plus support yet.
So glad I kept my nexus. I think when I receive my warranty replacement I will just seek it for a small loss and wait for the nexus 6. I can't have a phone that I can't count on.

Edit - yeah wasted money on the orzly tempered glass protector as. well pfft.

I've got an idea for you (It worked for me - but I must admit... I was drunk and didnt think things through) if you still have % you might be in luck.
Go into TWRP, and format Data only. Then once it boots... Hold Power and volume up, so it resets... and hold power till its completely turned off, then plug it into mains. (This charged for me - but as I say, I tried to just restore again and got the stupid logo by whih point my battery was at the point of no return) - Still faulty if you ask me though.

I managed to boot to twrp and I'm getting cannot mount errors, so I can't wipe. I tried to power it off and plug into mains but it's gone completely dead again.

If you can get back into twrp then hook it up to your computer. I usually don't use tool kits but have in a jam. Download this toolkit and try flashing stock from there. I had to being others back from the dead that way.

openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-bacon.img + Wall Charger
just stay in recovery main menu , do nothing , it will be charging the battery.
that title 10% => 10%+ mean charging.
i belive the stock cm11s recovery doing the same way.
i did recovery charge test just now, the PhilZ Touch 6.55.0 one in adb shell:
<3>[ 19.791584] bad vbatdet:4250,default to 100mv
<6>[ 19.792889] bq24196_charge_en enable:1
it's working.
Had the same problem. Mine is working now!!!
I posted a video of how I got it back to life.
Check the description for the details if you don't want to watch.

Thanks for the encouragement I'm glad yours finally started up. Mine has been on the charger for a day. Completely dead. I'll leave it unplugged over night and keep you posted. No reply from OPO support yet...
