push and pull apk from/to phone - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

I can't remember what the program was called but though it was called adb shell.
What it does is that when I installed on my pc i can connect my phone and see a list of apks on the program. And when I goto different tab on the program, i can remove and push apk to and from phone.
does anybody know where i can download it?
Thanks

you mean this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9248406&postcount=1
but I prefer the manual push/pull

Thanks gil2001xp
its something similar to the one you posted but with different interface.
the one that i used has all the apks on the phone listed on the left side and i can click on the one that i want to remove and just remove it.
for example, when i want to remove the stock launcher or camera i can just remove it and push the new launcher/camera of choice to the phone. this way i will not have two launcher/camera on my phone.
I will give X10 Mod Tool a try now.
Thanks again.

BlackGlassSwype (NO EXPIRATION)

I know there are 3(or more) existing swype threads. I KNOW THIS. I just threw my swype kb file folder from black glass into the full version swype for those that wanted a BlackGlass swype that didnt know how to do it themselves. Get it HERE. If any one wants a new color lemme know and ill put it up when i get a chance, so we have more colors to choose from.
If you cant get it make sure you hav3 done the following:
for those who are getting expired messages try removing all traces of Swype:
1. In terminal,
Code:
rm /data/app/com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk
2. In terminal,
Code:
rm -r /data/data/com.swype.android.inputmethod
3. Clear your dalvik-cache
I've not gotten an expiration yet, but hopefully this works for you

its always worked for me. Im currently using this exact apk in my rom. Not sure what the problem could be. You can always take the libs from it and throw them in your roms lib folder (using root explorer on an already installed system), thats how i make it work out of the box in my mods. It should just install, i normally use andro or root exp to install apps that werent included in the rom. Root commander works great too. I dont use adb for apk installation.
I tried pushing it first then used Astro to install

Maybe I got a bad download I will try again downloading it and using Root Explorer to install.

right on. if not pm n ill get it going for you. i have a few diff. copies, but this is the one im currently using. I had to mess with it some to get it to work with a new rom install(its a choice from get go) so i learned a little about installing it
Not working for me either... used Linda and Estrongs file explorers... neither worked.
Do you need a previous version of Swype installed for it to work?
Won't install for me either

The way it worked for me, I had to adb remove swype first, then download to SD and then use astro to install
Yeah im going to guess if you had swype previously installed this one probably wont install for you.
the **** doesnt install anyway i tried, i did have it previously, what folder do i adb pull from?
I used Advanced task manager to uninstall my previous version, then Estrongs File Explorer to install this one, works fine for me. Thanks!

system/app...you will probably need to list the files to see exactly what its named to remove.
adb remount
adb shell
cd system/app
ls
rm whateveritsnamed.apk
This is a developer site right? Well this is just an app install. I put it up to help ppl out not piss them off. Ive listed the best way to do it and it works FLAWLESSLY. Please do the following or listen to my previous instructions before threadbombing...This is not hard, so please calm down and try not to get upset. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
INSTRUCTIONS

1)REMOVE ANY EXISTING SWYPE YOU MAY ALREADY HAVE
2)MAKE SURE ITS ACTUALLY GONE(it can be pesky to remove)
3)DOWNLOAD THE APK TO SD
4)USE ANDROZIP FILE EXPLORER TO INSTALL THE FILE(i think astro works too)
5)ENABLE YOUR SWYPE OPTION FROM settings/language keyboards
6)LONG PRESS ON A TEXT ENTRY FIELD
7)TAP INPUT METHOD
8)CHOOSE SWYPE TO USE IT

And lastly if this does not work for you and you still really want swype i have a rom i just put up yesturday that has swype, android kb, and htc kb included and you just select whichever you want to use(no installing anything). Good luck AND MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU(im not a star wars freak, just seemed like the right thing to say)

Thanks, was missing my black kb, any chance we could get the micro black version? Mine quit on me yesterday morning

Step By Step Unroot Instructions?

Kindly excuse this thread if it is located elsewhere, but can anyone point me in the direction of a step-by-step guide to unrooting my Infuse? I'd like to unroot, as I'm having difficulty connecting to AT&T servers since I rooted.
Thanks
root has nothing to do with it. or usually doesn't, people have successfully updates with root on this and the captivate. the att bloatware on the otherhand might! freeze those things so they can be unfrozen, dont uninstall them unless you want to always use xda to find .zip or odin versions. also changing the launcher could have bearing on if the update is successful, samsung likes to push tw on you in whatever ways they can.

Thank you for the info. I still would like to unroot.
Does anyone else have info on how to unroot step-by-step?
just so that you know. with super one click. just hit unroot.
yeah use super oneclick. but it might not work if the su binaries are in a different folder. if that's the case you might need to use adb or root explorer to remove the su file. then adb with rageagainstthecage to remove the superuser app from /system/app. though if you are using adb yoy may be able to remove that app first then the su binary just fine, i never acctually tried it.

I believe the person who owned the phone before me deleted bloatware Apps as I am unable to update. I know it's rooted. Any suggestions on if I should start completely over? I'd hate to have to set this all up again.

I've seen other replies mentioning Super1Click, but I'm curious if that also works for Macintosh computers. In other forums where I've seen the suggestion to use Super1Click, it's always tied to Window computers. Does Super1Click work on Macintosh too?

I guess I worded it wrong. Coming from AT&T where you can't install non supported apps. I guess.. Manually Install APK from the SD card. Didn't know if I needed a simple app to do that. I do apologize.
No, just run the apk from a file manager and it will prompt you to install. No other apps required.

or just
adb install xxx.apk

You'll learn that you're in a much better place now lol
Just install any file manager, navigate through your sd card to the folder where your .apk is and click on it, then just hit install and you're done.

You need to use an app like Root Explorer or you can use terminal emulator and type in these commands (all without quotes and press enter after each one):
"su"
"cd /system/media/audio/ui"
"ls" -- this will list all of the files in the directory, find the one that you want to get rid of then type
"rm <filename>" replacing <filename> with the name of the file you want to remove. Hope this helps!
If you don't want to use adb or the terminal, download a program onyour computer called Android Commander. It's a gui that does the command stuff for you.

Softkeys / nav bar

So I need a real developers opinion. The build prop mod doesn't work. How would one go about enabling this? Is there a modification that needs to be done to the framework-res? SystemUI? Both? Please help. I can find jack about this for any device.

After compairing the build.prop of both the Moto X and Ultra the only thing that stood out to me that may enable the softkeys is the line:
ro.product.display=Moto X

Try placing it under # ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES After you have backed up of course.
Also, look for an xml in systemui.apk called navigation_bar.xml. It should be located in res/layout/ of your decompiled systemui apk.

are you using an unlocked version?
have you tested your deodex framework-res to ensure it works?
if i give you a moddified framework-res.apk do you know how to properly push it? obviously you need root and RW on the /system
do u have a backup?
or a way back if need be?
in other words do you know what you are doing?
and will not hold me responsible in any way shape or form?
and fyi you cant just adb push the framework while booted you will bootloop. cause you have to rm - the odex and apk will be over written when you push, the best way would be to push it while in recovery, ( which you would only have if you have a dev version)
i say all that to warn you,
A) its 100% untested.
b) i dont have a device to even test it on.
C) beware bootloop is a possibility especially if you dont know what you are doing.
its compressed just unzip do what you will with it
framework-res.zip Show_navbar
and yes your right(ish) the bool.xml in the framework has to be changed from
Code:
<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">[COLOR="Red"]false[/COLOR]</bool>
to
Code:
<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">[COLOR="red"]true[/COLOR]</bool>
Actually strangely enough the framework res is factory deodex. No I don't have Dev edition (yet) to pushing via adb is out right? Will copy and paste with root explorer work, setting proper permissions of course, or is it going to f%#k up right away? I have no total back up but I've got the important stuff and it wouldnt be the first time of me using the fxz back to stock

Not really.

I am not responsible for what you do to your phone. I am 99.9% sure this will not bork your phone but if it does its your fault not mine. OK? Great. Enjoy.
I dont have this phone though ive done this on other phones ive owned. Im confident it will work.
If anyone is feeling adventurous, ive modified the framework-res.apk to show the nav keys. Below is the best way to apply it. You must be rooted and be willing to flash back to stock if things go wrong (or push the backed up app if possible). You may have issues if you are not deodexed, though included in the instructions below is how to apply it even if you are not. You also must be able to use adb. Id make a flashable zip but you dont have a recovery.
Copy the framework-res.apk file to your internal storage however you please.
Make sure your phone is plugged into your computer and adb debugging is enabled.
Type the following commands (read carefully!):
adb shell
Click to collapse
su
Click to collapse
(look on your phone, it may ask for superuser permissions, allow it)
stop
Click to collapse
(note: this will make your screen go black and it will be unresponsive, this is normal)
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework/
Click to collapse
(if you have a problem at this point type: adb remount and try this step again.)
rm /system/framework/framework-res.odex
Click to collapse
(only do this if your apk is not deodexed)
reboot
Click to collapse
On reboot you should have onscreen nav keys.
Here is the modded framework: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44601870/framework-res.apk
I see runandhide05 has also done the mod for you. I can confirm that what he (and I) have done is what adds the nav keys to the moto x (which i have).

It should be in my post now. It is infact of the framework you posted on the first page.
The adb crap may not work right now. You need to mount the system as r/w and i dont know what file system the X/Ultra etc use. Though it may work because the way root was aquired for this phone. Worst case is you cant copy the file to the system. No harm will be done.

It should be noted that there were two ways to root your ohone, the first DID NOT allow rw on the /system
The second from jcase allows rw only when booted into "recovery" which is not the normal recovery but a mirror img of your /system and will appear as normally booted however you have rw access to the system.
This is how you would have to do it. If you rooted with his first release you wont have rw on the system, if thats the case use his latest release and follow his instructions in his OP then do as mentose457 suggested
