[21/02/12][LWP][ICS] Galaxy S II live walllpaper with day/night & weather animations - Android Apps and Games

[21/02/12][LWP][ICS] Galaxy S II live walllpaper with day/night & weather animations
I've attached the live wallpapers from SGS II. Just install them like a normal apk, but be warned that at 8mb and 11mb they are rather large.
They should work on any device with WVGA resolution, and have also been reported to work on Galaxy Tab. However, they may not work if your device has non-standard DPI settings.
Secret Wallpaper 1 is a beach scene and Secret Wallpaper 2 features windmills running peacefully along the country side. Both wallpapers use your GPS co-ordinates or coarse location to change the weather depicted in the scene, and to switch from day to night.
Smartkeitai editor CJ Lippstreu has made two videos showing the live wallpapers for SmartKeitai.com Please hit like on their video, and subscribe to their channel for more smartphone videos.

Beach one was too large to attach, so here's a mediafire link
EDIT: 07/12/2011 updated apks to latest version from Galaxy S II. The files have a smaller install size.
At the time of uploading the newer version, SecretWallpaper2.apk had 61111 downloads.
EDIT: 21/02/2012 updated apks to latest version from Galaxy S II ICS leak. The files have a smaller size, and work on my TouchPad Running ICS
Windy weather = Windmill Live Wallpaper
Ocean weather = Beach Live Wallpaper

Perfect install on 2. 1 xperia x 10

Hm, don't seem to work on HD2.
Just black, white and blocky

Battery Consumption ???
Thanks anyways

Just download and running on xperia arc. Batt are good.

awsome, just installed liking it so far

What’s that battery indicator app/widget do you have on the Notification Bar? Please share.

Just installed both on my Desire Z.
I prefer the windmill one personally but both are pretty awesome.
Thanks a lot man!

Nice, working fine on my epic also...thanx for the up!

Runs horribly on my dz/g2. I'm using stock gingerbread launcher and my homescreen lags and app drawer too.
Edit: This always happens to me. All the stock lwps rrun beautifully, but all other lwps run horrible. It saddens me greatly.

That's a battery icon based on flightspit (sp?)'s work on the desire forum that made its way to the Galaxy S i9000 forum. It involves a custom framework-res.apk modification, and your phone has to be rooted. What phone do you have?

Yeah, the wallpaper needs a bit of grunt to run properly. After all, it was designed for Galaxy S II which has a powerful A9 SoC

Custom DPI ... It does work..
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Incorrect, my G2X has custom dpi of 180 not 240, it works just fine... So maybe it doesnt work on some phones, but not on all with custom DPI...

Works perfectly on HTC desire running cm 7.0.2

since i installed them ive noticed gps searchin for fix time to time
anyone?

Thanks for these. Will they work on an Inc running SR4.0?

Both work on the Thunderbolt. But the beach scene suffers from slower frame rates on the animation of the water. The windmills look great.

Is it updating beyond the set time? I thought so to. I put 1 hour but felt it was more than that. (Gps)

does anyone else have the problem that the dock icons are a bit off position?
i.e. the height of the dock is a bit larger, 4 icons on the left and right are too low, and the app drawer icon is too high.
i check the screenshots are the net, they are not look like this.

Ok the blob seems fine, no problems on my g2 but add some customizability. The plasma though, slows my phone down like crazy almost making it unusable. Find a way to optimize it, or it could be just the g2.

I will try to lower the resolution for the plasma wallpaper. Maybe this will help...
Downloading now. Let the testing commence
Edit: Plasma causes my phone to slow down crazily. Maybe it isn't optimized for Android 2.3.4? (just a wild guess)
Blob causes slow down as well but still much smoother than Plasma, phone is usable.
Awesome LWP's otherwise mate
After I downloaded and installed this, all the star ratings for all the apps I have, are gone and are just blank starts. I uninstalled it and rebooted the phone, and its still the same problem.
Edit: restarted it again and its fixed. - Droid X
downloaded and installed on my g2x. runs a litttle slow but it looks amazing! would love to see an optimized versions of the fractal one off his website. that one looks amazing!
I tried these out on my Droid X that's overclocked to 1.25 GHz and they both cause severe lag to the point where it slows the phone down. They look amazing but make my phone unusable.
Edit: I should mention that I'm currently using a leaked version of Gingerbread.
Using Cross-plasma on my Thunderbolt. So far so good. Looks great. No noticeable lag with any phone functions yet. Will let you know in another day or so how its working.
how does a thread that has only had 10 replies make the front page of the portal?
Both are running good on my G2x. No lag using Launcher Pro.

looks very nice but its to slow on my sgs I9000
Blob -> works great.
Cross plasma -> runs smoothly (but not all the time), and lags for about 1/4 second between home-screening/unlocking.
Samsung Captivate running Serendipity 6.4
Blob works better than plasma with very little little laggy. So good 9.5^^
Plasma makes a lot of lag, changing screens, go menu...and i have transparent menu so...even menu of apps laggy. Otherwise plama is more beatiful than blob, very nice effect.
HTC HD2 with ADW Lacunher EX (with transitions effects)
How do I use live wallpapers on a Droid X running the first leaked GB? I don't have any option under wallpapers, for live wallpapers.

I wouldn't even bother, I'm on the latest GB leak with my Droid X and they really slow the phone down to the point where it's very laggy.
Blob= okay, works fine
Plasma= Absolutly beautiful...but lag caused by it is very noticeable. Still installed but not using.

But I use LauncherPro with only 1 window screen and 3widgets. And I don't have a bunch of useless apps running in startup or downloaded. I think it would run differently for me.

Give it a try and report back. I'm using Go Launcher with 3 screens, only a few widgets, and most of the bloatware removed. I've tried using them both with my X overclocked up to 1.4 GHz and they both cause a tremendous amount of lag. Good luck.

Favorite clock/weather widget?

So one of the only things I find myself salivating at on my wife's HTC Incredible 2 is the Sense weather/clock widget. Thing looks badass. I've found some of the ripoffs on the appstore, and have installed Beautiful Widgets, which has some pretty cool clocks, but a lot of them look like janky crap.

Fancy Widget Pro is great. I prefer it over Beautiful Widgets and Weather Toggle & Widgets.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.anddoes.fancywidgets
I guess the new version is called just Fancy Widgets
Weather and Toggle Widgets. I use the Digital Clock skin:
Thanks for the suggestions The couple of clocks I've downloaded for Fancy Widgets(I only had free before, but just bought full version) are already way better quality than the ones on Beautiful Widgets. Will try to post a screen shortly
Beautiful Widgets is my favorite. Lots of options and skins

Second to that, plus they had it as an Amazon Free App of the day once. Woohoo!
Beautiful Widgets all the way. I've been using the destroy skin with a transparent background. Around 50% that way I can see my screen background.
DroidX Eye Clock widget
At some point in the last nine months I had a DroidX Clock widget on my OG Droid. I really was just a clock widget that used the DroidX Eye as a background, and offered a choice for the eye color (red, blue, green, yellowish). It was lost at some point in one of the many times I flashed different roms to that phone. I have looked a few times in the last couple of months, but have been unable to find it.
If anybody has seen that widget, or has it, I'd love to get it installed on my Droid Charge.
(BTW: Verizon tunred on 4G in my area today, and it is crazy fast... loving it).
Actually. Use go launcher and then get.goweather. your wife will be salivating looking at your phone. They.have an htc style clock that is better than htcs. And the coolness.of go launcher is a "see it to appreciate it" thing. Set your app drawer to have the blind effect. Its awesome lol.
Alternative
Advanced clock pro is an alterative if you like a modern look. I also use aix weather.

Check out GS Flip Clock wallpaper. I'm running version 4.3 on my Samsung Tab and it's fantastic. It is as close as you can get to the HTC version. It had some growing pains initially, but as of version 4.3 everything seems to be working great.
I didn't pay for it, so I must have found the apk via Google. I remember searching for quite a while because HTC had been putting the smack down on any developers who used the flip clock style.
Currently it is on the market (website only, it didn't show up when I searched using the market app on my Charge) for $2.00. Since I'm a "noob" I can't post the direct link. Search for GSFlipClockWallpaper by Sergey Golovanov

[App] Gravity Home (LWP+Launcher+Physics)

Hi,
We have been working in an experimental app and we whould like to share with this community.
The application is a Live Wallpaper where you can chose some of your installed app icons to be shown in the live wallpaper, hanging arround with physics. The icons will behave as launcher for their respective apps.
In the configuration you can limit the apps movement to only one of your desktops, the center screen.
Any feedback will be apreciated, we will be working on this app adding new features and solving issues if needed.
You can find it on android market, its free and the name is Gravity Home

Hi,

About the problem launching the address book, it has an easy solution, we had already fixed the camera , will be the same, probably on next update this week it will be solved
Thanks for the bug report and the feature request!
Will try it .......Maybe it might turn out to be a huge hit.........Anywhos nice concept!!!!!!!!!!
this looks amazing
keep the good work ongoing!
It doesn't look amazing, IT IS AMAZING !
So far so good, will report anything.
Thanks for this lovely thing
I just installed this to try it out and went straight to the settings to see if I could add some apps. I waited for the list to load then something strange happened. The screen froze with a few black lines across it and started getting brighter and brighter like the system was increasing the brightness above the limits or something. Sounds strange I know. I quickly got the cover off and removed the battery, phone is fine now but just before I removed the battery I noticed the usually pitch black background was now light grey! I've now uninstalled and I'm on Darky's ROM 9.5 with the Darky Core 1.4 Kernel. Modem is JVE.
I love it but i wish it worked properly on the EVO 3D, when you go to add apps it just constantly says loading and never loads any of the apps to show on the screen.
Very original and innovative concept. I absolutely love it. The icons move around clean and doesnt appear to bog the phone down to much.
Issue: on vibrant rom kb5 (Stock + rooted myself).
I have 4 screens (which highest is always the real "home" screen). Icons wont show up at all if I dont limit to 1 screen in the options.
If I limit to 1 screen, it shows up on screen 3 instead of screen 4.
Bloody amazing. Words fail me. Glad I have a Mugen barry in my Nexus though!
Amazing ! I love it.
I'd love to be able to shake my phone and have the icons get shuffled, would that be possible ?
Very cool! Great work!
Like the others, excellent!
Work like a charm on my i9003

android 2.3.4
Trying this on my HTC Sensation and its friggin sweeeeeeet. I loved the falling androids lwp but gave it up a while back but I loved the concept. This went to the next level. It's actually has function than just the looks!
Is it possible to add a custom wallpaper in the background? If its already there I didn't see it in the settings.
+1 to you OP!
Looks sexy, I'm looking forward to it
I can't find it in the market it said not compatable with my i5800 can u give me the apk or something to try?
Very original and very nice. I like it because it doesn't bog the phone down and is visually appealing to look at. No errors or problems what so ever on Nexus S running stock 2.3.4
I like this app. It looks great and works well. I have two suggestions:
1. In settings let me change it from a black background to a picture of my choice. I normally use a static image, but would use your app if I would put a static image behind it.
2. Let me choose which home screen the icons are on.

[GB+] Ambient Time home

This is the old launcher that Sony Japan released for 1.6 and 2.1 long time ago. Now, i've modified it so that it works on both GB and ICS. I've also attached the live wallpaper that comes with the launcher and it works great as well.

Honestly, I didn't know it had to be moded to work on GB/ICS. I've searched the web a while ago and found version 1.0.0 (provided by you) and also 1.1.0, which has one or two extra options at 'Home Settings' (Image quality and Tails - for the animation.)
Here's a direct link, from some chinese site: http://count.liqucn.com/d.php?id=19...2/daolpu/moc.ncuqil.elif//:ptth&from_type=web
I was unable to attach the .apk, xda seems to be grumpy right now...

Anyway, speaking about porting: it would be awesome if someone could port that beautiful and unique lockscreen... :cyclops:

As for the widgets, i'm not sure if it is possible to use any widget from GB+.
weekender90, there are different versions of this launcher, as you said some of them don't need any mods in order to work, however some need to go through some changes . As for the lockscreen, yes, it would be awesome to have, but i belive that there would be too much file-rewriting and even then it may not work properly.
dontbelive, there aren't any widgets unfortunately, Sony Japan released the launcher only

Nice port and i like the lwp. But it seems that the lockscreen couldn't take over the slider default of stock roms and it always appears before the ambient lockscreen. So you get 2 lockscreens.
Another thing i noticed is that rebooting the phone will disable access to the drawer. Only happened though when i used the launcher as a default replacement.
But still it's visually good.
Ei dev, any chance that this couls become a home.apk replacement? And i can suggest, i think this will go perfectly if themed with your 4 corner mod. Just a suggestion. Grear work bro.

The lockscreen bug appears because the new lockscreen is a separate app that is been set to appear first when phone reboots or is being unlocked, so removing UXPlockscreen.apk from system apps may solve this problem.
For the second question i have no solutios as settings this launcher to default is something that i don't reccomend as it doesn't always loads its resources properly.
And finally, if you'rea talking about merging the two launchers it would be impossible as they have different API levels, it's a good idea though.
P.S. i'm still working on a 1.6 launcher if anyone interested
