One day, I tried to find the way to restore my nexus s before I may flash any rom in the future. I dl the rom manager and I found the stock rom of nexus s(I didn't know it is for I9020 or I9023) and flashed it.
Then, I discovered that the baseband version was chanced to bei9023XXKB1 and the build number is GRI40...
I found various way to restore my nexus s to be HKT version hardly and I have found the way to restore nexus s to be HKT(Baseband version is i9023XXKB3 and Build number is GRI54) through Odin3. However, after I rooted the device and dl the titanium backup, it did not work(force close forever). Therefore I need a clear 2.3.3 rom with Baseband version is i9023XXKB3 and Build number is GRI54 HK rom (whatever using recovery mode install zip file from sd or Odin3)
and a few question
when I enter the bootloader mode in my device, I found that the bootloader version is I9023XXKA3, is there any problem?
thx for help.

Hi -
I'm trying to install the latest update from AT&T. I had previously tried rooting after going back to the default rom, and still have ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.6 installed. When I download the update and reboot the phone, I get taken to this bootloader instead of giving me the option to install the update. When the phone finishes rebooting, the following message is displayed: "The software could not be updated at this time" My brother said I have to flash, but I'm not sure I know exactly what he meant. (is that just for the bootloader?)
Thanks in advance

Android 2.3.5
Baseband version: I727UCKJ2
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.11

Yes you do need to flash.
how to Odin and stock firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348
And not to slam the OP but go to Sammobile to get the exact uckj2 Rom which is 100 percent stock
Read carefully and you'll be fine. I was new at flashes toi

Do you have the stock recovery installed? It will only flash the official OTA update with the stock recovery. You can not use a custom recovery like Clockwork Mod Recovery or 4EXT Recovery.
firstly can you get a a signal with your phone since i do believe you got the 4g model?? also have you done a system factory restore before you try to update, you might need to backup either first, maybe it got to do with version or CID on your phone, not to sure never dealt with an international phone before... give more details, like software version and kernel version,

Can anybody help me with this?
The factory image for android 4.04 build IMM76 is now available for the Galaxy Nexus (CDMA). Right now I'm running the previously leaked 4.04 build IMM30B. From what I understand, I won't be able to update to the latest build without doing a full factory image restore. I have an unlocked bootloader with fastboot, but I'm not sure where to go from there. I simply want the latest official Android 4.04 version for the phone that Verizon finally released 5 months later. Instructions or links to instructions would be greatly appreciated!
i'm read your theart , but i do'nt understand you want to change orginal image? that is theme? or another ???
i think you can flash another rom.
good luck

Try to flash a another stock rom : http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
And then root that ROM
Would flashing another ROM erase my stuffs in the phone ? Or does it just change the baseband version

Make a backup and try things out. Rooting will not delete your stuff, flashing another rom will.
Try the normal S2 way or rooting, and it should work. There are no specifics in rooting based on baseband, if that was the case, you would have 500 forums in XDA for just one device, all about rooting.
Try it out and make a backup.

Ah I see. Okay if thats the case, I've already boot it into a recovery mode before. But only option i found there is "reboot system, update from external card, update from ABD, wipe data, wipe cache, and update from cache". That's all. I couldnt find my root file like previously when I rooted my 2.1 android S2
Owhyeah, do i have to enable usb debugging for flashing the stock rom and root ?
