I'm very skeptical of this ad. Often times batteries off ebay are actually only 1000mah. And judging by the fact that the size is the same as the original stock battery, I'm betting the actual mah is way lower than 2430.

There's been a few threads about this battery already.
I have four of them.
I bought two and when I complained,they shipped two more.
The first two...no way.
They held about 75% of the stock capacity.
The second two look to be a different manufacturer,but the same size.
I haven't tried them yet.
They're all the same size as stock and yes,the first two had the spacer inside to take up the slack.
They were also bought from e_cell.
Does that clear it up for you?

I'll say Anker as well.
I've got one coming,but it's not here yet.
I'm using an Andida and it looks a bit better than stock,even though it's stock sized and weight.
Definitely as good as stock.
If you don't mind a new back cover and thicker phone,apparently the new Mugen 3400+ [IIRC] is quite a beast.
That will require a bit of digging around to sort out a case option for it though.

I've got one of these. However they are fake? The battery life from what I've seen is not too much more than the normal battery. I've got another which came with my dock and I don't see much difference between that which is 1600 and the "2400". Also I may not be the best person to comment on it as I change my rom so much I use a lot of power in different roms which use more or less power.

It's not fake!
I have this battery about a month now and it's really great ok it's not sooo big but it lasts at least 2 days of full use,so obviously it's not fake it's really great and i think it worth to spend 10 bucks for it...

Please guys, be realistic.
How the hell should some unknown manufacturer put 2450 mAh of power in the same technology (Li-Ion) in the same size and shape in a battery with the same safety standards?
Based on basic chemistry knowledge that is pure bull****.
Even Mugen had problems pressing 1500 mAh in the same size and I'm sure they had to make the walls a little thinner (what is pretty risky) for that amount of energy-rich mass.
That is absolutely impossible and it is naive to think it is real.
It may be a halfway good replacement for the stock battery but it does never reach 2450 mAh. Never.

All of you guys who think the battery life is longer than stock may think as a placebo effect. As Dr. Lele said it's impossible to pack so much in so little size as of today's technology.

lol, the only battery that has better performance than the OEM one, is Mugen's.
They managed to squeeze 1500mAh into the battery.
I am planning to commercialise a 3000mAh Gold (etc) battery on ebay, with secret Chinese circuitry, for just €6 (no, not really)

what i've learnt about replacement batteries -> if it looks too good to be true, it DEFINITELY isn't true.

Very true. I think a lot of it is the placebo effect... I tend to on a morning go and get that "2450mah" battery instead of the stock HTC ones. Most the time I cycle through the batteries but if I have to choose, I choose that just because it may get a little bit better battery life.... But I'm also worried it's cheaply made and might leak or something inside the phone..

I have tried it have it and not using it because is piece of crap. It was good on the beginning and than it stopped holding the charge... very short life time....crap

Ive got a 1900mAh battery which is a good chunk bigger than the stock 1230mAh battery from htc and i won't ever believe that someone can produce such a "golden" battery out of thin air....

Unfortunately these batteries are likely going to only have 2 of the 3:
1. Upgraded capacity
2. Safety
3. Longevity
The only other option is a 3.8v chemistry battery, which is being used by Motorola, but it will likely not be fully charged by the phone.
Anyway, the stock battery gives 4.55 Whrs, a 3.8v version would give 4.67 Whrs. Which is to say, you're basically getting nothing extra.

Meh no trust gold battery...

Review Mugen Power 3600mah battery

Hey everyone ! I recently got an extended battery for my Sensation for around $90 as it was much needed to meet my usage !
I thought I would share the feedback with you guys !
Mugen Power is a 3rd party battery manufacturer, and is known for it's "extended" batteries. If you’re an owner of a high end Android phone you too are probably facing a very poor power backup with the stock batteries and that’s where extended batteries come into play.
Basically, Mugen promises something near double battery life with this extended battery life, let's see how this extended battery fairs.
Unboxing
This battery comes in a very small, compact and simple backing - it has a leaflet with the instructions and standard warnings, a back door and the extended battery itself.
Look and Feel
We already know the HTC Sensation is not a very thin device in itself, and by adding the Mugenextended battery and the battery door, it does get noticibly thick - but for double battery life which it promises, the thickness can be bared - at least for me !
One would think that this battery adds a significant ammount of weight to the phone, but on the contrary it does not add any weight which can be significantly felt.
It's also nice to know that the backdoor cover fits perfectly on to the Sensation, and the feel of the replacement cover is not different from the stock one
However, with the extended battery users with small hands will find it a little difficult to hold on the phone for long durations at a go, rest shall be fine.
Performance
The li-ion extended battery which we were provided was rated at 3600mAh which is more than double of the stock battery on the HTC Sensation which is 1560mAh, so was the battery life also double ? Let's find out.
I have been using the HTC Sensation for almost 2 months now and with moderate usage, casual browsing, push email and constant interactions along with a lot of IM and calls, it did last me around 11 hours or so with moderate usage.
But on days when I had heavy usage, with constant data transfers on wi-fi or 3G along with lot of media playback, games, calls and IM - going beynod 8 hours was a tough task for the Sensation.
Now I did spend a nine days on the Sensation with the Mugen Power extended battery, and yes, it works ! And works pretty well following are the figures :
Heavy Usage : 2 days
Moderate Usage : 3 days
Light usage : 5 days
Now let me describe my usage, my heavy I mean constant connectivity either via 3G or wi-fi, 5 email accounts with push email and mails coming in every hour or so on all 5, constant IM i.e. Google talk and Facebook chat, off and on internet browsing, around 40 pictures shot, around 3 hours of voice call, lots of media playback (songs) and even video streaming.
My moderate usage I mean, data connectivity on 2G and wi-fi, push email, selective IM, and 2-3 hours of voice call, with causal browsing and media playback.
Light usage is more like a few texts, some casual browsing and a few calls in a day, with hardly any data usage - more like constant standby.
Conclusion
The Mugen battery is a very good buy and lives up to it's promise of increased power backup. It is a must have for hardcore users and the people who travel a lot, regardless of their usage patterns.
One would however have to bare the slight increase in the thickness of the phone, but amazing amount of backup one gets is well worth it.
But, if you are a light user, and mostly have the phone on standby with a few calls a day, Mugen Power is not for you.
Also note that the HTC Sensation has been known for the "Death grip" issues - but don\t worry the added thickness or the replacement door on the Mugen extended battery does not affect the signal receiving capabilities of the HTC Sensation.
Overall, the battery lives up to the promise of double battery life and has left me much more mobile fearless about the phone battery finishing suddenly !

Is it worth it though? You can buy 2 Chichitec 1800mAh batteries for $40, or other brands like that through ebay

The back cover is completely different than the original one... It feels cheap and it's not even on the same planet as the original cover.
Also the "8 MEGA PIXELS" mark under the camera is horrible. It's printed very bad and it feels like on fake chinese phones. The battery is awesome, but the cover sucks completely.

Just delivered. Very disappointed, though I have read negative impressions on this forum before... It decreases wifi strength up from 100% to 30%. When you're near wifi router it works fine (like in the video), but when you're 5 metres away from router it drops to 30%.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I understand, that their battery cover is extremely bad and doesn't allow to use wifi.. May be there are alternative battery covers for such battery?

Mugen has announced sometime ago on their Facebook that for the Sensation battery they have developed a new backcover that solves the signal issue. Contact them, they will replace it, they always do.

Please tell the date of the message.

Anyway I checked the latest messages in the group and didn't find any mentionings. Only hidden advetisement. If they really replace battery cover to a working one, it's good. But right now I DON'T RECOMMEND to buy it if wifi is important for you.

if you get a powerskin and an anker 1900mah battery, you get the same total size battery power, but also have the ability to remove the silicon case and/or turn off the second battery in the powerskin to be used at a later time, and for half the price of the mugen.

I just wish powerskin redesigned it and got rid of the fin at the side...
otherwise I would have been rocking it.

Mugen is not an alternative any more. No one wants to get Sensation without wifi and weak 3g, but with an extended battery. I am very angry...

a 1900mah battery is a better alternative than 3600mah? Imho, these are two completely different products that have different purposes. Btw, Mugen offers 1950mah battery as a slim battery alternative.

get a Anker or Evo 3D battery on top of the powerskin and you basically around the same amount of power as the Mugen.
plus you have the option of going slim with a higher capacity battery(anker/evo 3d) then stock 1520 mah and a gel case that comes with the powerskin.
on top of all that, it's about half the price... (powerskins around $40, Anker $10-15)

Isnt the 1900mah of the powerskin in addition to the stock battery? If this is the case it makes the two comparable in terms of capacity.

I guess, Anker is really targeting people by selling cheap stuff. I have a phone that costs 700$ and you think that paying another 100$ for a quality battery is a problem? Sorry, I don't believe in 10$ batteries because I have used them in the past and I don't support this idea. 10$ price can only be achieved if a company is cutting budget on smth important.
This is a well known fact: who pays cheap always pays twice.

Wow, the OP sounds like a product placement or marketing. It is nothing personal but I read so much comments on Mugen...that it sounds like a rip off.
For my taste your posting sounds a bit too perfect. Like loose 20 kg in just 2 weeks.
I got an Anker 1900 mh and it is perfect. 5 to 6 hours with navigation or 24 hours with moderate to heavy usage...on sense 3.5 - stock kernel. What else do you want....I mean you are not awake for 24 hours...every day...are you?

My experience. Wanna to be objective:
Positive
Battery works from 14 (high usage) to 25 (low usage) hours. It's very good in comparison with 5-7 hours from original battery.
Cover looks pretty good (in comparison with mugen cover for Desire).
Negative
Wifi and 3G/HDSPA problems
Phone started to turn off sometimes.
If new cover solves this problem I will post the information here. Mugen promised me to replace the cover.
P. S. Your Anker refused to deliver me the battery a long time ago. What's more - they don't have a 3600 mah battery like Mugen.

hey, if paying more makes you feel better, more power to you buddy.
I currently use the Evo 3D battery. I can add the powerskin and I'd have about the same amount of power as the Mugen...
and as a bonus I won't have wifi problems(talk about cutting corners eh?), have a silicon case to boot, AND I would still be paying less then the Mugen setup.
I won't loose any sleep over paying less for quality accessories for my phone.
and regarding the Anker battery... just look at the Anker thread. so many success stories... doesn't matter the low cost, long as it works... properly, which it seem to do.

Lightweight, low capacity battery?

Since I'm undervolted & pretty tweaked on battery life, I wonder if there's such a thing as a lightweight, low capacity battery? For the large majority of days, I could easily get by with half the capacity. Nice to shed some weight if such a thing exists. Anybody hear of such a thing?

ZeroLemon had a battery awhile back that had fewer mAh than stock. Check amazon.
Otherwise, just get a Chinese ebay battery that claims stock mAh. For sure it will be lighter than stock and have way less mAh.

Thanks for the pointers, fellas. (Jayracer7474, haha!) I suspect a lighter battery could also be the difference in mass/momentum between a cracked screen and a bounce from a drop. I did find some 2100 mAh replacements, but they appear to only shave off a couple of grams, so not enough weight savings to justify. A ~1200 mAh battery that would save about .5 to .75 of an ounce would be ideal for 90% of my everyday usage, since I'm usually never far from a charging source. Oh well, can't have everything.

Seems like no one asked the right question so far: what kernel/settings do you have?

Also, those chinese batteries? Please stay away. Most of them are rubbish. (risk of explosion etc etc?)
Those legit chinese brands don't make smaller capacity batteries though.

As pcorlatan pointed out to me, you can use a GS3 battery on the GS4 without any issues.
I have no idea how much lighter it is but it is 2100ma so it is significantly smaller.

Standard fit / high capacity battery

Do any exist, which are safe and reliable?
On previous notes, I bought a slightly higher capacity Mugen but can't find any for the note 4 (in the UK).
My phone is now 9 to 10 months old and the battery is tiring (I think). Maybe a refresh is due. I can imagine the higher speed charging kills them off sooner too. ANOTHER good reason why the Note 5 should have a removable battery. A a built in battery will be performing under par in no time.

I hope you find what you're looking for... I am hooked on high capacity batts, and now even the little handed wife can handle a Hyperion 8000 batt with TPU case easily- they're not as brick-like as the zerolemon. Bought a new 8000 and a case for a total of 38 bucks with free shipping on amazon yesterday.
But everyone has their own way of wanting things- hope it works out. If it doesn't, though, I'll offer that it really doesn't take long to adapt to the Hyperion type with it's case. That same case works with the Anker 6400 too. Both have been great performers for me.

Thanks for your input. I'm more inclined towards the standard fit because of the accessories I already have: the car support, the cases, etc.. An oversize higher capacity battery would imply further investment in other stuff, while a standard fit would just (hopefully) improve a little on the OEM battery. If any of the batteries mentioned can fit the original samsung car windshield support I'd consider them a an option.

I just received this one today and so far it seems pretty good. Same size as OEM but it took noticeably longer to charge so the extra capacity seems legit. I had a Deep Stretch for my Sensation back in the day and it was great, so we'll see after a few days how this one performs in the ol' note 4.

I saw that battery, but passed it up due to the blurry photo (and the battery looks in the photos like it's a cheap battery with a sticker on it) and the generic reviews (as if the seller may have made a few of them). It just all looked like a cheap battery to me.
Let us know how it performs. Longer charging time may not indicate a bigger battery, especially if the battery really is a cheap Chinese battery or something.

I am getting a noticeable bump in overall life, ending my day with about 30% more juice left than I normally do.
Deep Stretch is legit, like I mentioned before I had one of their batteries a few years ago with my Sensation and it gave me noticeably more life as well. These aren't good if you're wanting a major increase in battery life, but they're great just to get your phone comfortably through a day of moderately heavy use without having to bulk it up.

This battery uses new technology? How could they made a same size but much higher capacity comparing to stock one? Could you post your onscreen time with this battery?

I am always skeptical about batteries that claim higher capacity while not being physically larger. Not saying these are bad but for I wouldn't buy it for the bigger number on the package. Personally, I tend to go with OEM batteries, bought with retail packaging from a reputable seller. Sure these are too expensive for what they are, but at least, I know what I am getting.
It is worth noting that li-ion/li-po batteries degrade slowly over time. So when you change your year-old battery for a new one, you are very likely to notice an improvement, even if you replaced it with the exact same model.

I ended up getting a v10 the other day, but I did use the battery for about 2 weeks and it definitely did give me a noticeable bump in overall life. For $25 I would say go for it.
