When are we going to get "scrabble" or "words with friends" for Android?
Like the title says. Just want one of these two games on android already
well...it maybe sooner than ya think. with google doing that thing that makes developing games really easy, all it takes now are some ppl motivated enough to make it
Android already has scrabble, unfortunately it does not allow you to play with another android phone for multiplayer mode (whack). Waiting on words with friends port to android to play cross platform if that ever happens.
There has been a few reccent additions to the market you guys might what to check out - WordWise Free and Wordfeud Free. WordWise is VERY buggie(I don't like), but I haven't found any problems Wordfeud Free yet and it as close to Words with Friends as it gets.

Click to collapse
yeah i've been using wordfeud but there are some really questionable words that can be...
WordFeud works great for me
I'm not holding my breath for "words with friends". The developers don't reply to emails or twitter queries.

Furious Facts About Android Market

I have written (a not so serious) Blog about "Furious Facts About Android Market"
This is the adress if you want to read more: http://www.baby-soft.de/?p=28
Here is an excerpt:
I have executed different searches in the Android Market and I will face you now with the one and only truth.
Anyone affraid he is stupid?
At least many people wants to know it. Or the app creators think people wants to know it. Anyway.
"Stupid Test" (187 hits), "Moron Test" (199) and "Idiot Test" (129 hits) gives you lots of chances to find an app telling you that you are just as normal as anyone else.
Bird flu hits market harder than mad cow disease
There are by far more "angry birds" in the Market (more than 1000) than "mad cows" (22). Just if you have ever thought about that.
Fart or not to Fart, this is the question
I can not believe it! I am shocked!! Incredible!!! There are 238 hits for a search for "Fart Board"!!!! Puh, is there a bad smell in the air?!
Feal free to leave your fact as a comment! Enjoy reading!

In-app purchase filtering

Google Play allows to browse for free applications. Hovewer with introducing in-app purchase it's useless. In-app purchase makes many games a demo. Is there an application which allow for filtering for true free applications? I think google should mark apps with in-app purchase so it would be clear for everybody who install. Now I need to dig through comments to know it.
Next thing is lack of ability to completely block in-app purchase. I'm afraid to leave my daughter with my phone and game using in-app purchase. It's like giving monkey a gun...
Lately AppStore shows " In-app purchase" in applications's description
And now a have it in google play. Why it's mixed with totally free apps?
While not answering all your questions, you can set a password for app purchase. If your daughter can remember a 26 characters alphanumeric password containing uppercase, lowercase, special characters and numbers then I lift my hat to her.
Yeah I did something like this... But filtering should be fair. If somebody gives totally free application, no ads, no demo (in-app purchase very often mean this), not crippled in any way, it must fight with app that has budget to promote it, but isn't free at all, because most features without in-app purchase doesn't work. Yet both are in the same category
I especially hate PTC (Pay To Cheat) "games" - I say games in quotes because it's not really fair to even call them games anymore when you can, or even in some cases have to, pay to win. Clash Of Clans is one example.
Google is breaking their promise to "do no evil" by continuing to host apps such as Clash Of Clans.
It makes me extremely frustrated that I don't see any options in the Google play app to filter out apps with "in app purchases".
I wonder how hard it would be for us to add that (mod/patch) to the Play app?
It's good idea for xposed module

[Discussion] The "Ignore no more" app.

Mod Edit: Links to paid app removed
Doesn't this app violate several main points that define Android?
And if someone starts with the line "I paid for this phone, I decide what happens to it and that little f**ker can't say s**t about that"...
Well, I've got bad news for you and your parenting skills; you wouldn't need the app if you raised your kid properly.
Let's not go iOS just yet... or "never" might be better.
But on the other hand, if many kids are drawn towards XDA...

Bachelor of IT app for Whitireia NZ students

This is an app which is only relevant to students studying Bachelor of IT: Level 5 at Whitireia New Zealand during the second semester of 2016. Anyone else is free to install and view the app, but it would be great if we could keep the comments to "The app works great" or "This feature isn't working", no haters saying "Oh, why is this app here? It isn't relevant to anyone".
The Bachelor of IT app includes an updater script, which links to this page.
Deletion of this thread will result in the updater breaking.

Make sure you only download this app directly from "forum.xda-developers.com", there have been a number of posts on fake XDA sites.
App permissions:
STORAGE - Allows the app to store the downloaded update
